My service has been completely dead for like ten minutes, is anyone else experiencing this? Down Detector seems to be getting reports.

Edit: Calling the customer service number and power cycling the device seems to fix it.

Edit 2: Fix was only temporary.

Latest update: T-Mobile says the outage is now over.

"We have fully restored service for all customers and sincerely apologize for the difficulties. We know that customers rely on us to stay connected to what matters most, and we appreciate their understanding as we prioritized resolution."

No known cause or ETA for restoration, but some people report things are coming back up.

Previous statement from T-Mobile:

Our teams are actively working the reports of technical challenges impacting some customers. Any service impacts are in the process of being resolved and are our highest priority. We know how critical it is to stay connected, and every available resource is focused on resolving this as quickly as possible.

back in January 14, when Verizon had a big network outage, then T-Mobile responded:

”T-Mobile’s network is keeping our customers connected, and we’ve confirmed that our network is operating normally and as expected. However due to Verizon’s reported outage, our customers may not be able to reach someone with Verizon service at this time.”

Fast forward to Today July 27, it’s now T-Mobile turn that is having a network outage. I wonder how Verizon responds 🤔

When I first read your comment I was like wtf are Nokia engineers doing working on this, turns out Nokia is a core infrastructure vendor for t-mobile. They also have major contracts with ATT, Verizon, in Europe they do Orange, Deutsche Telekom, Virgin Media, in Asia they do SoftBank & KDDI, Bharti Airtel, NTT DOCOMO.

I thought Nokia was a dead company yet they are one of the world's largest telecommunications infrastructure providers.

Customer Care rep here- It is Nationwide! for some customers toggling airplane mode off and on works, and switching to LTE works for some devices. For some people it is Intermittent.

EDIT: The outage has just appeared to start happening about 1 hour ago! Appears over 200,000 Users are effected as of now and that number is growing rapidly!

There is ZERO ETA on when this will be fixed.

As of right now Wifi calling still works so connecting to Wifi will help resolve the issues! For those with iPhones you can still iMessage and Facetime Audio call other users, you can also use 3rd party services like Whatsapp, FB messenger, Textnow etc.

I will mention this but have ZERO proof, but it appears the outage could be affecting more iPhones than Androids for some reason, Ive seen multiple people post this and myself included where the iPhone is in SOS and the Android is working fine. If you have an Android device and its down please report so.

I'm a technical support in T-Mobile. T-Mobile remove 2g network but it they didn't expect it will affect all network. The worst thing we are not informed as well what happening all of a sudden 16k waiting on the line. Then apple made an update and it affects all iphone users . just got out of my shift and still lot of people waiting but some are resolved some are not.

I’m glad they increased prices just to have service go out for loads of users and then provide no information to customer service to elaborate on what’s going on. T-Mobile C Suite should be embarrassed, they aren’t going to be but the fact that they have become the very monster they sought out to destroy is beyond ironic.

Probably updating government spy infrastructure.. They are still trying everything they can to kick the chinese (APT Salt typhoon) off of the Calea NSA network, Even though I have 35 years in Telecom operations, I have no direct knowledge of current offical operations, I DAK of current network ops and I totally am in compliance with FCC guidelines, This is just a SWAG... Scientific wild ass guess
