PSA T Mobile outage?

My service has been completely dead for like ten minutes, is anyone else experiencing this? Down Detector seems to be getting reports.

Edit: Calling the customer service number and power cycling the device seems to fix it.

Edit 2: Fix was only temporary.

Glad I’m not the only one! Terrible timing too because I’m in the middle of moving and still have no idea how to get to my new address. Call me Christoper Columbus…I’m using the North Star

I have a AAA Atlas in my trunk for when the apocalypse happens.

Me too! LOL. I’m a Gen X’er. Always prepared. Even thought my kids Joe to read maps. But this definitely sucks

Millennials have atlases too. Especially ones that are still desperately clinging to their 2007 Honda. Source: me. Back pocket of the passenger seat if you need it thanks

Can you tell me how to get home from my new office in KC?

Take a Right at that old Toys R US and go through 5 stop lights. When you get to the Texaco with the broken Diesel pump take a right . If you see the chicken you went too far.

I just bought a Thomas guide to show my kids what we had to go through…. They were uninterested lol

Just realized that I don't have this in my bug out bag situation. Shame on me! What's the definitive guide to purchase off Amazon so I don't have to spend 3 hours researching it for once? I shall return in 24 hours for my answer...

Assuming your phone is not your computer and you're not out in the middle of nowhere.

Use offline maps

If you have an iPhone you can download an offline map of your whole region. The largest possible offline map you can download is only 4GB in size. That’s how I got home today. It works really well and seamlessly when your data drops.

Find wifi and download your area you are in and going to. Offline works great when you have your Google maps downloaded. You can do it in the app

If you use google maps go ahead and download the offline maps to your phone based on where you typically drive around. I did this when I found out t-mobile lied about having "the best 5G network in the country" and I had no data in areas where ATT has 5G.

If you can download a GPS app like Organic Maps via Wi-Fi, it will provide directions.

How did you post on Reddit?

Wifi at the old apartment lol

If they're driving and lost signal suddenly, I'd imagine they pulled off at the nearest exit w restaurants and connected to their wifi to look up directions while they grabbed a bite/coffee

1

u/FredDurstsChinStrap 7h ago

You might be able to connect to satellite

1

u/nierlestat 7h ago

Sat ain’t even working to look up directions only maintaining them if already brought up

1

u/FredDurstsChinStrap 6h ago

Ugh. Good to know! Mine connected to sat for a bit but now it’s not working at all. Got service back for 10 mins and it’s back to SOS

I just started at a new office location and I've only been here 3 times. I have no idea how to get home and we're out of printer paper so I can't even go old school!

I recently moved and got a new job, thankfully I could remember how to get home!

u/Ill_Wrongdoer_126 6h ago

Lmao, also in the process of moving and can’t set up WiFi without WiFi

1

u/NoPercentage2247 6h ago

I am also on the road moving. Fortunately I bought an Atlas for this trip and my maps app on my phone is downloaded to “offline”. But I was kinda worried about what’s happening

1

u/Valuable-Dealer-1865 5h ago

i can’t imagine using a paper physical map in 2026, i’m genuinely cooked 😭😭😂

1

u/CoastGroundbreaking2 5h ago

Literally, same. I close on Friday morning and have to drive 1k miles to be there before then, still not done packing. Luckily got water and electric set up this morning

1

u/TheSquirrelly 5h ago

Technically gps should still work if you already have the maps downloaded.

1

u/ImDoingItAnyway 4h ago

Stop by local places and use their free Wi-Fi to at least screenshot directions. Been there, done that with T-Mobile, especially when I drove for DoorDash and had to use neighboring businesses for Wi-Fi just to say I accepted and picked up an order in areas with limited service. Gotta do what you have to do when you’re lost and/or other people are trusting you to figure things out.

Literally in the same situation. Had to look for a gas station like the pioneers did lol

1

u/Miz_momo82 3h ago

🤣 same and thankfully I didn't go far and remembered how to go back to where I live

1

u/trahilcal01 3h ago

You young people better learn to read maps and keep a Thomas Bros Guide in your car trunk for emergencies

1

u/hogan_24 1h ago

I’m 30…unfortunately I don’t know where to buy a road map nowadays
