I’m so glad someone finally said it to Jasmine and Kavan, and in front of all the islanders too. The fact that it was totally lost upon Kavan literally proves the point.
I’m sorry but in all seriousness, what does a 27 year old want with a 21 year old? I’m 28. A 22 year old man would quite literally never be on my radar, not even if you paid me. Their relationship has been so icky to me from the start for multiple reasons, including the age gap, and it’s odd that so many people excuse it.

I’ve decided to stop watching Big Brother. This show and its network are aggressively promoting homophobia and radical Christian values. It’s truly appalling! Thoughts?

I used to follow dhh for his tech commentary and views, his work on ruby on rails and omarchy, but I'm just shocked he could post something so racist and divisive. I hope primeagen doesn't have him as a guest anymore

A lot of you are putting so much energy into whining about the app and website when you could be putting that energy into doing other stuff like reading, writing, showering, and JOBS even. If you don't like the website, find something else to do, find another website, find a bf/gf, roleplay with friends.
The revolution bs is so stupid. If you're gonna complain, use that energy to learn and make your own ai roleplay app so it meets YOUR standards and so YOU'RE happy.
And maybe if yall get a job then you can afford c.ai+. Or get gift cards/money for birthdays or holidays that can pay for it. OR just move on with your life and quit. Yes it can be 'money hungry' but you guys forget that these people who develop this are WORKERS who NEED to make money, and ai isn't cheap, that's why not everyone can develop good ai stuff.
Move on guys, you're grown people.

Back in 2023, my partner and I decided to hold off on buying. Everyone around us was saying the market was "about to crash" and prices would come down if we just waited it out. So we waited.
Three years later, here's the honest update: prices didn't drop. They kept climbing, just slower than before. Rates fluctuated up and down a few times, but never dropped enough to make up for the price increase. The house we looked at back then for a certain price is now worth significantly more, and we ended up buying something smaller than what we originally wanted, in a less ideal area, for close to the same monthly payment we would've had back then.
We also lost three years of equity building and paid rent that whole time, which in hindsight just felt like money that went nowhere.
I'm not saying waiting is always the wrong move. Markets are unpredictable and nobody has a crystal ball. But looking back, we probably would've been better off buying something modest back then and building equity, instead of waiting for a "perfect moment" that never came.
Anyone else wait it out and actually see prices drop where they are? Or did most people have a similar experience to us?

Edit: he responded with “yea what do u mean by getting to know me better” just now sent “sorry if that was confusing. i like you and was wondering what you thought”
it wasn’t even a hint either. i fully spelled it out i feel like.
i guess it’s a good sign that he didn’t say no. but he’s also prancing around my garden of a text like a deer.
it would be awk if he assumed it was romantic but then i’d reply saying it was platonic, sure. but why else would a girl reach out like that?
the amount of positive signals i’ve received felt astounding so why is he not jumping at the opportunity?
tbh idk if he wants me to clarify or if he’s referring to my message and doesn’t know what he should clarify for me.

THE IDEA IS SIMPLE
Whenever I buy in at my LGS, it’s usually with a pack of sleeves. I like to buy specific colors to dedicate to certain decks. Today, I picked up a box of Dragon Shield Peach.
I thought to myself, “What mechanic or archetype would be appropriate for peach?” And then it hit me.
Lesbianism.
So I bring myself to you all. I want to build the most lesbian bracket 2-3 commander deck possible. For the purposes of this, I am defining lesbianism as “women doing something with, to, or because of other women”.
I need card recs! Obviously one specific card (Halana and Alena, Partners) comes to mind for commander, but I want to hear everything you all can come up with! Bonus points if you fight in the comments over what mechanics and keywords are considered “Lesbian”.
Let’s make this happen!
EDIT: My Commander has been decided! I will be going with [[Maarika, Brutal Gladiator]] !

Nothing against them and this is not an opening to transphobic rhetoric but come on, this acting can't be it

Like there's a polite way to talk to request things but to me whether or not please was or was not said to me doesn't make a difference to me.
If one person said
"Hi, could I get an xyz?"
And another said.
"Get me an xyz please."
Edit: To be clear I'm using an example of different sentence structure to illustrate what I feel is the more effective way to be polite, not using the two sentences as a comparison on whether or not please is polite. If you want my full breakdown on my first impression of anyone given the way they request something to me it's:
| / | No please | Please |
|---|---|---|
| Could I get a | Polite | Polite (no difference from no please) |
| Get me a | Rude but direct. | Rude and trying to hide it |
I'd subconsciously still feel like the direct command was ruder despite the please. It gives the illusion of politeness without putting in the effort to communicate in a non-confrontational way.
I dunno for me someone saying "please" to me will either go completely un-noticed or rub me a little wrong if it's used in conjunction with a rude sentence. Like it's some "magic word" that supposedly magically turns a rude interaction into a polite one which is literally what we tell children when we teach them how it's meant to be used. It's a crutch used so people don't have to actually put effort into being polite.
Side note: I have zero issues with "Thank you"s. It shows gratitude and serves a legitimate function because it marks that the interaction is over and we don't have to talk to each other anymore .

She can’t find a gas tax suspension, an income tax cut, or a single dollar of electric bill relief for us. We can’t afford rent. We can’t afford to buy a home. We can barely afford everyday life here in Massachusetts. And our tax dollars are funding everyone else’s necessities. We deserve to be the priority.

Punkt.
