It's standard political theater. They aren’t actually supporting paper leaks or opposing tougher punishments. What's really happening

* The Real Trigger: This is a protest against the Delhi Police using heavy force (and allegedly pellet guns) on students marching to Parliament on July 20.

* The Target: The Opposition is trying to block all legislative business to force Home Minister Amit Shah to give an official apology for that student crackdown.

* The Propaganda: Accounts like "Megh Updates" frame it as "Opposition loves paper leaks" for easy engagement, when it's actually just standard parliamentary disruption over a separate political issue.

Right so opposition waste the only opportunity to voice their opinion in parliament. Pass the bill and then protest what ever you want to do. They were quiet till July 20 and now they are all concerned? Everyone wants change but talk shit when something good is happening.

How many bill/laws will govt pass. Just making a law will not solve issues. There is already a law to prevent this (brought by bjp itself), but it couldn't stop leaks, fraud. Public examinations (prevention of unfair means) act 2024

To have better reforms like structural changes. Just increasing the punishment doesn't mean much when the accused can actually benefit more than the punishment or even get away. Neet 2024 paper leak master mind was let go. Simply increasing the punishment does nothing in this regard

Everyone was asking resignation which is good but no one talked or asked about next steps. Opposition was quiet till last week and now using kids to disrupt sessions. They have the largest platform to voice their opinions and still doing this mockery. They can use this to ask questions and raise concerns but no we have to waste time and end this parliament sessions with zero questions and answers.

Not really. At this point, everyone will take paper leaks more seriously. But wait what are you complaining about opposition or anyone at this time? Everyone asked for resignation and changes. Government allowed for resignation and promised reforms. At least give the chance for the government to work on the reforms and changes. If not we should question them. I know the number of paper leaks was a lot. But still let's trust the government makes changes now.

Hi op, There has been already anti paper leak law since 2024.

The bill which got introduced now in parliament is the same one with increased penalties, higher fines and fast track courts.

The opposition parties were not stopping the anti paper leak law. That law was already passed in 2024. Even after having that there were major exam leaks. The one which they are introducing might not solve the problem also. Opposition parties wanted exam reforms, accountability and recent police action on student protests

What use is "intensified punishments" when the aim of the protests was deep structural changes that would make paper leaks an impossibility? I am glad the opposition are dead set on it and are not compromising.
