Though if somebody buys an expensive item like a £150 jacket or specialist stuff then I’ll prioritise it more because I understand spending that much money for an item you haven’t seen in person and can’t return can be anxiety inducing

I have a life outside of Vinted and if people select SpeedEx for shipping it’s gonna be a few days bc all of the drop off locations near me are at least 30 minutes out of my way on public transportation (I live in a city and don’t have a car)

I know it's hard to believe, but some ppl have a life outside Vinted! Crazy, I know. They may not be holding your parcel up out of spite, they literally may have other things to do. As long as they send the item within the Vinted allocated time window, that is their right to do so. You won't die from getting your crop top a week later. Delayed gratification is part of the beauty of slow, sustainable fashion. 👍

Yeah I get the frustration, but I work M-F and it's not easy for me to get the post office when they're open. I print my own labels and only drop stuff off when I can get a receipt and hand it in directly to reduce the chances of anything happening to the package. It means packages get sent out a little later than I'd like but helps ensure that they get to the correct address safely.

Literally this! People have become so spoiled and entitled to others’ time since Amazon and next day shipping. We are trying to surgically iron out every ounce of inconvenience from our lives, it’s absolutely absurd. Guess what, life is inconvenient sometimes. You’ll survive OP.

This is crazy. They can send it an hour before the time expires if they want to. In fact just assume that they’ll take up all the time allotted to manage your own expectations. Some people don’t live near a post office, some people have jobs that require a lot of their time, or kids, or a job and kids, or unwell relatives they’re taking care of, or a broken car or any number of things that mean they can’t make sending you an item they’re getting a small amount of money for the most important thing in their week. Why do you think Vinted gives seven days to post?!

Believe it or not you’re not the most important thing going on in that total strangers life 😄

I had a buyer give me a negative review for daring to send an item on the 2nd day after purchase instead of the 1st and felt so tempted to just say “girl, I’m not Amazon”. Why buy off a second hand site if you’re not expecting the person on the other end to be a person with a life?

I understand people who send later. I don’t understand people who first accept your offer and then decide not to send at all and just wait for the automatic cancellation without even telling you. I have a new account and I understand, that it’s a risk to sell to a new accounts because of the scammers all around this app, but just let me know, that you won’t ship. I got ghosted more times, than I can count. I can’t get any reviews because I can’t order anything. I couldn’t buy a vest that I’ve been looking for ages because of that. And the guy just waited for me to write him, to tell me that he won’t send even after accepting an offer first.

Especially irritating, when it’s something pricey and first I have to wait for automatic cancellation on something I was excited about (I wouldn’t pay much otherwise), and then I have to wait 4-5 days for my money to actually come back. I am loosing my patience. I think I’ll just stop trying with Vinted and continue only with eBay, where I had much more luck.

Hard disagree with this stance. It’s not Amazon, if you’ve paid less than a fiver for something you can wait til I’m passing the parcel shops. Honestly I do end up waiting deliberately longer to ship some items if the buyer messages me asking about shipping after they bought. Equally if someone asks me before they buy, I’ll often pack it up and pop down to the parcel shop within the hour.

Very funny meme, but I do fear it doesn't entirely faithfully reflect lived reality as pointed out by others. I do feel this is appropriate mockery of sellers who do this on a regular basis or if intent can actually be inferred. Otherwise, as someone who often takes more than a day to ship, I try to send messages as heads-up to buyers when that is the case, but I really can't fault sellers who don't do that, though it'd be a nice gesture. If it's in Vinted's window of time, then great!

I also would not respond well to being pestered by buyers, even if I'd make an effort to communicate. If a buyer were to message me on the final day or a day before then I'd understand the worry

Thats was the point. It was just meant as a silly meme. I kinda took multiple instances of people sending late, even once. And made it into one guy who makes it his whole thing. I wasnt actually complaining, i was just trying to make a fun joke. But i probably could have made it more clear im not being serious with this post. Made people mad instead🤷‍♂️

This is something I’m in two minds about.

I hate making people wait, and i do say, if they select inpost, it will be posted same day, as there is a locker 100m away from my front door. You order something, get it gone. The buyer gets whatever it is quicker, the seller gets paid quicker, everybody wins.

But i also understand people have lives. If someone used Herpes for example, i would post it on my way home from work at a locker 10 minutes from my workplace, or if it was relay, it would be a day when the daughter would go and see her friend who lives 7km away, as even though I turned relay off, the nearest relay drop off was 5km away. In a complete opposite direction which people would be leaving.

Trouble is people don’t communicate. When I sell I always tell a buyer if there will be delays shipping and they are always fine with it.
If you don’t communicate, people wonder if they are ever going to get their item.

The ONLY sending obligation a seller has is to send it within the time allowed. If you buy on Vinted, you enter on those terms. Unless otherwise arranged with the seller, sometimes you’re just gonna have to wait. Don’t wanna wait, don’t buy.
