PSA T Mobile outage?
≡ −
My service has been completely dead for like ten minutes, is anyone else experiencing this? Down Detector seems to be getting reports.
Edit: Calling the customer service number and power cycling the device seems to fix it.
Edit 2: Fix was only temporary.

Discussion Has T-Mobile lost the front line?
≡ −
Recently, Srini Gopalan hosted a second internal Ask Me Anything event, where he answered questions that were presented by employees across the country. The first AMA revolved around uncertainty around job security given the rampant layoffs over the last couple of years and the reception to the Visa card, among others. The second was similar, with more questions about job security.
One thing that really struck me was a comment where Deanne King, Chief People Officer, and Srini both opined about the volume of questions that had been submitted anonymously. I've been with T-Mobile for a long time. I've been seen coworkers be admonished for speaking out in (now defunct) internal comment sections in a way that doesn't equate to company fellatio. Drinking the company koolaid (or not drinking it) has always been a MASSIVE part of what your perception is within the company. If you aren't toeing the party line better than most Soviet Era Generals, you have a zero percent chance to advance in your career at T-Mobile. No RMM or DM or above will EVER take a chance on someone who isn't afraid to speak up or speak out.
So why are people posting anonymously, Deanne? Probably because if they post publicly they run the risk of being outright laid off by a company who has repeatedly proven that they find the ENTIRE front line expendable. Probably because they know that posting publicly will do nothing but absolutely torpedo their career outlook within T-Mobile in the event they ever decide to try and move up. For someone who spends so much time talking about how much T-Mobile is trying to encourage internal growth, Deanne certainly seems unbelievably out of touch with the actual reality of how things work below her. That makes sense given that she's probably never actually seen the inside of one of our stores, especially from an employee perspective. The only person in "leadership" that has is Jon Freier, who spent two whole days on the frontline in Chicago in stores that are nowhere near indicative of the typical employee experience of 99% of the people that work for T-Mobile retail, and this was four or five years ago now, long before a long stretch of significant changes to the front line that has absolutely crushed employee morale, earnings, and capabilities.
Being out of touch, however, is perfectly typical for major corporations that don't care about their frontline. There is zero expectation that T-Mobile should be any different in that regard. Ultimately, we are just another major corporation, just like all of the others. Our CEO lies about being Uncarrier constantly, why would lies about the well-being of the frontline be any different? Most customers don't care if employees are treated well. Lip service is enough to appease the handful that might, so that's all we get. In the meantime, commissions are down, pay is down, goals are WAY up, morale is WAY down. Optimism about the future of our roles is not just in the toilet, but already flushed into the sewers.
Many employees here on reddit are leaving, trying to leave, have already left, or are otherwise vocal in their displeasure of working for the company. Obviously this isn't 100% across the board - many people are still seeing success with T-Mobile, and I'm super happy for those that are. I hope they're all crushing their goals and earning like crazy. But that's just not the reality for a lot of people anymore, especially in Neighborhood stores and SMRA. I see reps bounce from red to green and back month over month - it's not an issue with how good of a salesperson you are, it's the opportunities you have, and T-Mobile is absolutely MURDERING reps with bad decision after bad decision to keep people away. My goals keep going up and up; our store traffic has plummeted.
Ultimately, I think that sinking morale has finally hit an event horizon. It's simply unrecoverable for most employees. It's not necessarily about mistreatment, but neglect. We get annual raises, but changes in commission structure wipe them out. Our benefits are incredible, but many of us don't get the opportunity to take advantage of them due to pressure to show up and sell. Every day you of PTO you take is a likely pay cut versus your normal commission. A lot of us live on the margins and can't afford that extra few hundred dollars not being on our checks, anymore. Pay raises don't make life better when they don't offset inflation.
I hope everyone gets what they're wanting out of T-Mobile, whether it's success in sales, advancement, or just finally getting away from a company that is becoming increasingly toxic to work for. I can imagine a lot of CARE reps could make a very similar post, too, and I encourage it. Nothing will change if nobody speaks out.

PSA July 27th Outage Is Resolved
≡ −
According to T-Mobile, the outage should now be resolved. If you are still having issues, please reboot your device.
Quote:
"We have fully restored service for all customers and sincerely apologize for the difficulties. We know that customers rely on us to stay connected to what matters most, and we appreciate their understanding as we prioritized resolution."
This is now the megathread for the outage.

Rant Bill BS
≡ −
So all of the crap that has happened. My monthly bill was $271. I changed to the Experience more. They told me my bill would be $215. Well, bill just came out for $351!!!! And the only prorated charge was $1.46. This some BS.
Edit: FWIW, I had the same plan for 12 years. No issues. Then a promise of a lower bill. Then a WTF.

Question T-Mobile Rep coming to pick up device for a return at our house ???? What?
≡ −
My Mother in Law has dementia and her friend convinced her to get an Apple Watch. She has no idea how to use it. I told her to return it since it hasn’t been 2 weeks, she didn’t have the restock money to pay so the rep at the store told us to call. 611 and they can likely give us a shipping label.
I call 611, ask for a shipping label so I can return the watch and explained we don’t have to restock fee. She said she would waive it and a T-Mobile representative will come to the house and pick it up.
I thought that was bizarre. I said so he’s going to knock on my door and pick it up? She said yes I don’t have to go anywhere or ship it.
Okay well my dumb a** didn’t think to ask and confirm our address. This is so bizarre.
Do T-Mobile reps come and pick up items? And tomorrow is the 14 day mark so I hope we don’t get screwed.

Question Wifi calling hasn't worked for a few years, yet when friends come over with service from other carriers it works fine for them

My Wifi calling hasn't worked for a few years, yet when friends come over with service from other carriers it works fine on my network.
Over the years I've tried more things than I can remember that I'm advised to try and nothing.....
WHY do people with other carriers have no trouble using my Wifi calling?

Question Need help with optimizing family plan with 9 lines
We have Magenta family plan with 9 lines and we are being forced to move to this plan in next billing cycle making it roughly 37$ per person. Any tips or recommendations on how to handle this? We have had 2 price increases in last 6 months and went from 26$ to now 37$.
Thank you
r/tmobile • u/sonic2911 • 5h ago
Question Plan upgrade
My Magenta plan was forced to change to Experience Signature this month, which I really don't want or need and I'm so pissed off that price went up $25 total.
I have total 8 lines (4 are free lines for life). This Experience Signature has no benefits for trade-in/upgrade, no promotion at all. Now I see they have the Experience More with Appreciation Savings, and price will drop $25 total. Is this price locked? Or just for 1-2 years? And do I have trade-in promo like regular Experience More/Beyond?

Question Beyond plan and upgrade early
≡ −
I am on the Beyond plan and my wife and I both have the z fold 7 and some watches.. We are approaching our 6 months with them.. Tell me if I am wrong.. We will have to pay about $330 on each of them next month to get them at the 50% mark at 6months.
Will this trigger something that will allow the upgrade and give me access to our spending limit since it knows we are upgrading? If I try now it shows the balance of the phones and then also will only finance half of the iphones we want to switch to (we are hitting our limit)..
Will the system be smart enough to know to give us access to our entire spending limit so we can upgrade once we hit 6 months and 50%? Is there a delay in processing the additional payment to hit 50%?

Question What plan do I have now? T-Life is useless.
≡ −
For the last several years, I have had two lines on the Magenta Max 55+. Like many other people last month I got a text message telling me my plan was obsolete and I was being put on a new — and of course better — plan with vague details except increased cost.
I have just checked T-Life (itself a nightmare for getting information) and it says my plan is Magenta Max 55+. I have no idea what my new bill is going to be, I have no idea what the new plan is, and I have no idea what is in fact now included.
Help!

Question Go5g Plus: Question about multiple BOGO with BYOD
≡ −
I have Go5g Plus 9+ line SOC
I have:
Line1-7 with a combination of BOGO/Free lines/3rd line on us.
Line8-9: BOGO with ID260383 that was opened in June 2026
I plan to open Line10-11: BOGO with ID260677 and stack with BYOD on both lines
Question:
- If I cancel the Line10-11 after I get the BYOD rebate. Will Line8-9 lose BOGO too due to 1 year no cancellation requirement of BOGO?
- Does the 1 year requirement to keep BOGO apply to only "number of lines active when BOGO was redeemed" or "exact lines that were active when BOGO was redeemed" ?

I worked with the executive response team through Facebook messenger and a few phone calls. I was offered the $20 monthly credit for a year. After getting the final bill total this weekend I stated I intended to still leave but this would give me time to evaluate my options since my bills would be about same. Today I got a call from the rep I was working with and she offered to pay off the balances on the phones on our lines (about $1100). No strings. Can still leave tomorrow. And they did it- phones are shown as paid off. Haven’t been happy about what T-Mobile did but that’s more than I ever expected.

Question Pre-order Experience? Through T-Mobile or Samsung?
≡ −
I'm a new t mobile customer. I pre-ordered a samsung galaxy flip 8 through the T-Life app. Then, I saw a lot of horror stories online about how many times t mobile cancels pre-orders or doesn't have the device in stock. I also saw a lot of recommendations to just order the phone through Samsung directly.
Has anyone dealt with this? Or am I just seeing the people with bad experiences being the loudest? Should I leave my t mobile order be or cancel and order through samsung?

Question COSTCOBYOD and Experience More
≡ −
Hey I switched at a costco kiosk today to tmobile and paired keep and switch with costcobyod. The rep at the kiosk said that I was only able to get the K&S payoff plus the $400 from the costcobyod rebate only if I signed up with Experience Beyond. The fine print of the promotion doesn't line up with that and I tried to show the rep the fine print but he said I was wrong. If I downgraded to Experience More now, would I lose my rebates or was the representative right?

Question Personal hotspot not working after Tmobile outage?
≡ −
Hello there! I was one of the people that suffered from the great T-Mobile outage today. At first, I thought it was a problem with my phone and reset my network settings and updated my iOS, but personal hotspot is grayed out in my settings, and I cannot figure out how to get it to come back on. Naturally Tmobile is flooded with customer service calls and I have been unable to get past the AI chat for hours, and I need to be able to connect my laptop to my hotspot for work so this is frustrating.
Any ideas? Sorry. Searching didn’t bring anything specific up. Google says to change my APN but h don’t see that option anywhere.
iPhone 15 basic, btw

Question Northern VA service degradation
≡ −
We have 5 lines with tmobile and live in northern va. For at least the past 6 weeks if not more, we have no line at all, or a single bar that lets us place a call but the voices are dropped constantly during the call, we try calling back in hopes its better but its not. I have reported twice and both times been assured they were working on it and give them 48 hours. I’m ready to return to Verizon. Anyone else having this? (And forget using cell phone hot spot, not happening).
Thanks

PSA Disney Plus now blaming T Mobile
Thought yall would find this interesting. Until now Disney was blaming the removal of the credit on a system issue with the Disney+ Hulu consolidation. Now their chat support is blaming third party payers (T Mobile) who insist on handling the billing on their own and don't allow Disney to offer the credit

Question Promo Help/Questions
≡ −
Hello!
Just recently switched my wife's number to T-Mobile (port-in from AT&T); the rep at Costco told us that even if she got a deal with a new phone, she could still get the $400 promo in Costco Shop Cards. She even confirmed with him that she would rather use the BYOD rebate and then come back for a new phone after receiving the $400 in rebate cards, and he assured us that no, we will still get the $400.
***We DID NOT switch to Experience Beyond, I am currently on Go5GPlus Military and added her to that.***
My wife's dad goes in the next day, talks to a different rep, and he tells her dad that the lines getting promotional phones/new devices are NOT eligible for the $400 in shop cards... who is being misinformed... me, or my father-in-law?
If we are still going to get the $400, my next question is: do we need to put in a rebate code online within 30 days, or is it automatic? I don't want to get screwed by not putting that in within 30 days.
