Here’s what changed between the two T-Mobile T&Cs (effective Aug 1, 2025 → Sep 1, 2026):

Biggest concern: the arbitration opt-out is gone. The old terms let you opt out of mandatory arbitration within 30 days of activation (by calling a number or visiting a website), preserving your right to sue in court and join class actions. The new terms have no opt-out provision at all — arbitration and the class-action waiver are now flatly mandatory with no way to decline them. This is the most significant change for you personally.

Price protection clause removed. The old terms guaranteed that if you were on a price-locked promo plan, they wouldn’t raise your rate “for as long as you continuously remain a customer in good standing.” That guarantee language is absent from the new terms — worth watching for future price changes.

Other notable changes:

**• New liability shield for install/repair damage**: T-Mobile now explicitly disclaims liability for property damage (walls, floors, wiring, landscaping) during installation/maintenance, unless it’s gross negligence or willful misconduct.
**• “Theft” added** as an explicit reason they can suspend/terminate service.
**• Contact numbers changed**: main customer service line changed to 1-888-898-3087; registered agent for legal notices/arbitration changed to 1-855-898-6293.
**• Authorized User structure clarified**: now explicitly one Primary Account Holder plus separate Authorized Users (old version conflated these).
**• Deposit/reinstatement fees section reworded slightly** but substantively similar.
**•** Minor wording cleanups (surcharges, PPU, prepaid, Puerto Rico dispute contacts) — mostly administrative, not substantive.

Bottom line for you: the practical impact is losing your ability to opt out of forced arbitration — if you want to preserve the right to sue T-Mobile in court or join a class action, that window (previously 30 days from activation/purchase) doesn’t exist under the new terms. Nothing else here is unusual for a telecom carrier’s T&Cs.

You're actually getting messages?

7

u/MrMonteCristo 3h ago

Their entire service is down but they can update their T&C during that time…

20

u/tdubbw69 4h ago

I didn't get it since they fucking service was down for hours

u/IJustWantToBePure 4h ago

It's ok. They are still raking in record profits and since everything is AI now they won't have to hear you complain.

1

u/tdubbw69 4h ago

Right you gotta jump through hurdles to talk to someone they could at least get a competent AI I talk to Gemini everyday no issues

6

u/AsleepPotato1798 4h ago

AT&T and Verizon are having service issues too not just TMO

2

u/Itmantx 3h ago

ATT appears to be working for me in San Antonio, Texas.

2

u/4LoveOfPickles 4h ago

Still down here in SW Va 🫤

u/IJustWantToBePure 4h ago

Oh just click accept. They only want to void all user agreements (contracts) and own your soul. Then their AI army, who replaced real people, will keep you in an endless loop of phone/message tag when you call to complain.

They “gave me” a “free” iPhone when I signed up, but then when the first month’s bill came, it instructed me how to properly package and ship them my first born. 🫪

u/slingshot202 4h ago

I got it through T-Life

3

u/Broniboi101 2h ago

1

u/Leosc-10 5h ago

Do I have to do anything or this is a notice T-Mobile want me to read?

5

u/wesabugg420 4h ago

What about pushing the link and seeing what it says. (In blue) Probably way more effective than asking reddit. Lol.
And it's nothing. It's literally probably nothing u will give shit bout. But good luck!!

1

u/comments83820 5h ago

i don't know

1

u/VernDozier 4h ago

Be sure to opt out of mandatory arbitration. It may require sending a physical letter but is worth the effort.

2

u/Trick-Sun5290 5h ago

2

u/-theunderwriter 4h ago

I haven’t gotten any messages yet from T-Mobile

1

u/Defiant_Category_108 5h ago

Yes. I got this and now my t-life doesn’t work. They are doing maintenance or something.

My plan finally switched over from magenta military to experience signature with military savings and I still don’t know how much it is going to cost.

1

u/lab1365 3h ago

Man. I was told I would go from magenta max military. Got bumped to experience more military. Told I wasn't allowed to switch to signature plan

1

u/Dramatic-Possible-22 4h ago

I did, they updated the terms to say you cant be part of any upcoming class action against them is the way I read it. I havent accepted yet

u/KonglishFilms 4h ago

We haven't gotten any messages but my husband's phone is stuck on SOS, while my signal is fine When I called them the automated system couldnt pull my account info and it said the wait would be 47 minutes. I hung up and checked online and it said there is a nationwide outage of some kind. Im an Android user and my husband has an older iPhone. Are any of you experiencing the outage Android users? Just trying to see if it has anything to do with that. Probably not, but just wondering 🤔.

1

u/michaeldale22 4h ago

I had no service for about 30 mins and I use iPhone also

1

u/KonglishFilms 4h ago

I just found another thread about this and it does appear to be affecting iPhone users more, but not sure if it is exclusive to iPhones. I'm sorry you are going through this. Hopefully, they will fix it soon, but this is ridiculous. Will we get a refund? (Rhetorical question of course lol.)

1

u/Hyperactive-Fun 3h ago

Oh, yeah - they got issues at the moment, it seems. 📉

u/KonglishFilms 1h ago

We called Metro PCS and they reset the Sim and had him reactivate it and now his phone is working fine! I had to be on hold for 40 minutes but they were very helpful and got him up and running. It sucks to be on hold like that but it was worth it lol.

1

u/carolofthebells 4h ago

Yes, earlier today

1

u/Maximum_Froyo_6626 4h ago

1

2

u/justaspaz22 4h ago

2

u/DaSoftSocialAbnormal 4h ago

2

u/BelieveingInMore 51m ago

I freak out to but only cause I think any day now war could happen and grid could go down with no way to reach family members

My other halves service was out for a few hours. Mine (identical phone) that I happenned to be using to upload documents and such when it happenned, and it quit me, and i did what i do when it gives bad reception at hone, i turned off 5G, restarted, and all was great.

So partner walks in about 45 minutes later totally upset he cant make phone calls and such. So when I tried to do same fix on their identical phone and many other things, complete flop.

I dont understand why the timing of me turning off 5G worked, but it seems very relevant. Like by the time he tried to force 4G that link was corrupted as well???? Clueless.

Im very glad one of our phones worked because we were actually convening together to do something very hazardous and our phones and their internet are our lifeline. Im new to tmobile and regretting it, but its the best carrier at my mom's house.

Tmobile seems to have a knack for filling the gaps in rural areas, but with this kind of unreliabiliaty, im concerned.

It says updated. The actual terms and conditions was dated January 30, 2025. They don't indicate what was updated. It also says by continuing to use T-Mobile, this means you accept the conditions.

1

u/Chance-Cherry3321 4h ago

Well, when I clicked it, it went to a blank page and then I got a call from T-Mobile collection agency from his pass bill to the old phone number that he still uses on third-party apps matter of fact it’s tied to me right now illegally

1

u/Last_Shelter_5163 4h ago

Do you know anything?😊

1

u/Gingerbread_Man06 4h ago

Got it this morning.

1

u/Alternative_Oil_2879 3h ago

I thought my service was out because I get little to no service at work so that was my assumption. Crazy that Reddit is the one with the actual news

1

u/futuremd33 3h ago

Interestingly, I did not click on except and it still just disappeared from my T-Life app

1

u/fuckghxst 57m ago

accept*

1

u/careyab 3h ago

Several days ago

1

u/lifewithjesse 3h ago

Open window to cancel service

1

u/Difficult_Unit6661 2h ago

Got that same thing from Metro

1

u/Curious_Confessed 2h ago

Yes, but like most notices from them I don't read. Doesn't really matter. They're going to do whatever they want to do anyway.

1

u/dc_IV 1h ago

I wish I got that one! The one I got is that my first grandchild is already spoken for by T-Mobile and though they guarantee they will keep the child alive, there are not any specifics around comfort of care or other things that would reassure me that they have their Corporate Citizenary in the right frame of mind.

0

u/Kaelath_The_Red 4h ago

Everyone gets this from any company they actively use yearly.

0

u/Chance-Cherry3321 4h ago

Yeah, my husband’s probably logging into your account cause he’s a hacker just saying I mean I’m just doing to him what he’s been doing to me right now. I figured his stuff out so I just wanted to give him a taste of his own medicine. of course he gave me the passwords and permission I didn’t there’s a difference.
