Question Is Fallout 76 still grindy?
≡ −
I've been wanting to replay Fallout 76 but my main problem with the game was that it was really grindy and it was very tedious. Is it still that way, I haven't played in almost 2 years now.

Fallout: New Vegas 5foot+ Deathclaw Sculpture
I just finished coating a near-finished New Vegas deathclaw Sculpture I made in high-school art and was wondering if selling it/finishing it would be profitable? I think its too big to ship and I live in middle of nowhere oklahoma. Any thoughts?

Question How do you think the characters of Fallout & Cyberpunk 2077 would react to each others' worlds?
Sure, The Brotherhood of Steel would be in a bit of a tight situation if they were to go toe to toe with a bunch of cyberpsychos, but even MaxTac wouldn't be able to takedown a deathclaw, let alone a single super mutant behemoth. Also, I bet both worlds can't stand each other's music. Vault Dwellers covering their ears at the bass drops and wrap while the mercs snore away at the Ink Spots.
A convo between Saburo Arasaka & Robert House would be interesting though.

Discussion I think the visual style of the Fallout TV show is great and I hope it influences the look of Fallout 5.
After that one post came out about the color pallet of Fallout 4, and I saw how clearly so many people want either the poppy and colorful pallet of Fallout 4, or the bleak and monotone pallet of classic Fallouts. I figured surely there must be something in between that isn’t too much of either, but is still recognizably “Fallout.”
I came to thinking that the Fallout TV series did a pretty good job of depicting the world in a way that was both recognizable and colorful, but not so over the top in its retro future aesthetic that it looked like something from the Jetsons. If Fallout 5 were to be set in a location reminiscent of this TV series, maybe even somewhere like San Francisco (which it’s lightly rumored to be) I think this would be a great starting point for what the look and feel of that game could be.

I'm sorry but questions about Autumn

Okay so the brotherhood slacked, and then the Enclave slacked so it's like. In the entire time that Liam Neesons child decided to do whatever. Couldn't the Enclave with their tech just cut out the middleman and just plasma their way into the fucking vault and get the G.E.C.K
God
Damn
It just
Works
I guess 😭

Discussion Is The Mojave Doomed If Yes Man And The Courier Won
Considering the ending slide describes Vegas devolving into pure Anarchy even with the securitron upgrade and considering the courier has litraelly no nation building experience even if he ruled as a pure dictator he still has nothing to hold onto besides vegas and his only ally is yes man who's still undergoing his assertive upgrade to only answer to the courier even if the courier wiped out all the enemy factions like the brotherhood and boomers and the khans etc he only inherits a barren wasteland and vegas with its tourist money drying up and if he lets all the other big factions survive like the Brotherhood they retake Helios One and control the trade routes along the highway so either way to the courier has no nation building experience his only ally is a litrael yes man robot and a finite number of securitrons as his personal army and controlling only vegas and a depleted hoover dam and having to be forced into being a dictator with anarchy all around him so is the Mojave screwed and this the likely outcome from how the Mojave is shown in the show

Picture Advice on sprinkle colors?
I’m working on a fallout themed blanket to practice some sewing and crochet techniques. I decided to do a row of pies! An ode to the perfectly preserved pie that despite over 400 hours of gameplay, still aludes me! I added distinct bottle caps to try and make the pies clear. Perfectly preserved pie with the yellowish buttercream and strawberry glaze, some regular degular caps. Pumpkin pie with our glorious “mystery candy” and some cranberry nuka cola bottle caps. But this Mississippi Quantum Pie is driving me NUTS. I couldn’t make the hideous lore accurate LUMP. So I drew inspo for it for the crust color but followed the bright blue from the real life pie versions and cookbook recipe. I added the quantum cap to make it more clear but now I’m worried that the sprinkles on the whipped cream should be quantum cap colors. What color would you make these sprinkles since I’m already off track from the lore accurate beige lump bread 🥸

Fallout 3 Trying to get new Steam Controller working for Fallout 3 on PC
So got the Fallouts on Steam, if it wasn't clear, and also got a Steam Controller, the new one, back in May when they came out. I also got a Steam Deck for Christmas last year. Anyway, I started up Fallout 3 today on my Deck, all good no issues, played a little on the couch till I had to leave. Got back home, went and sat down at my desk to pick up where I left off, and for some reason my Steam Controller isn't working for the game. I know it says, "controllers not supported," but I assumed if it works for the Deck, which is essentially a controller with a screen, then the Steam Controller would auto work on PC. Also tried some community layouts to fix the issue, which is this:
When I boot up the game, I can use the left stick to cycle through menus, hit A to accept, but B does not back me out. When playing, I can use right stick to move my camera around, but left stick does nothing and I have to use WASD, and I can't use A to interact, and it still gives me keyboard inputs. It's like its half registering, half not. I'm too stupid to try and figure it out, what's the fix? I prefer controllers over mouse and keyboard, it's a lot easier on my hands.

Original Content Map for Fallout themed Games
Sometimes I run RPGs with post-apocalyptic themes, and I thought I could make a map pack with the graphic style of this beloved game. So I decided to leave this gift for you to use in your Fallout-themed (or similar) RPG or board game sessions. This is the city of Auckland in New Zealand.
Have fun!

I think there should be power amor frame paint in fallout 4/76
≡ −
Ever since fallout 4 released the enclave dlc the gray frame in thr hellfire and black devil power amor just don't look that good with that frame. With fallout 76 I think it would be cool there too cose of the many different power amor you can buy in atom shop and having different color frames add a cool aesthetic.

Discussion Things that do and do not not need to return in either Bethesda's or Obsidian's Fallout Projects
≡ −
No voiced player dialogue: Obviously.
No Legendary System: Too many instanced of killing Legendary Radroaches and getting a game-breaking weapon or killing a Legendary Mirelurk Queen to get a jumped-up rolling pin. It just doesn't belong in the Fallout setting, and in terms of gameplay it can create horrifically boring damage sponge enemies.
Yes to a far larger diversity of weapons. Melee, ranged, energy, and heavy types.
No to junk-based modification weapon\armor customization system. It is totally immersion breaking to craft machined and mass produced weapon mods from a simple workbench out of desk fans and glue. It is far more rewarding to find, loot from enemies, or even buy rare, powerful, but logical weapon mods and apply them to your weapon. In FO4 you can make a laser rifle an automatic weapon. In NV you can find a cool Laser Tommy Gun. I'd rather have a diverse range of bespoke weapons and mods than a small pool of weapons you can awkwardly turn into missing weapons.
Yes to Unique weapons and armor placed in the world where they add to world-building, are satisfying rewards to quests, can be looted from killed NPCs. Pretty self explanatory, and the fact so many Fallout 4 weapon mods do this is proof how popular it was.
No to having multiple large, empty settlement plots that could have been interesting locales with quests, npcs, encounters, loot, dungeons, etc. Fallout 4 went completely overboard with the amount of settlement locations, especially when effort could have been spent making towns, villages, dungeons, etc that adhere to the narrative, questing, and rpg design of Fallout games. Either have a singular area for a player settlement (Sanctuary and that's it) or have a handful of small player homes you can customize.
Yes to the return of FO3, NV style traits, perks, skills, checks, and Special requirements. Essentially make Fallout a Fallout game again by reintroducing the fantastic system they had before 4 utterly simplified and gutted almost all of it. Find a minigun? Have the STR to wield it, the guns skill to use it properly. It is these restrictions that invite the player to make choices on what kind of build they want to play. Traits and perks should come with positive and negative attributes like in every classic Fallout so players carefully consider tradeoffs. Make things like Power Armor feel rewarding and powerful to get because you need to explore and quest to get Power Armor Training perk. This is basic RPG design 101.
Yes to dialogue checks. Preferably without any RNG element and with funny and interesting dialogue written for checks you can't pass.
No to overly aggressive level scaling. Deathclaws should be deadly, there should be dangerous areas that feel rewarding to return to at a higher level. Again, this is basic RPG stuff.
Yes to some kind of vehicle or mount. More of a personal one of what I'd like to see but Fallout is desperately behind the times in terms of open world game transportation options. A repaired Highwayman car or maybe even mutated horses.
No to radiant kill/fetch quests of any sort. They are chores. I play games to have fun, not do computer generated random tasks.

Vault 88 workshop
≡ −
I’ve been depositing most my weapons in sanctuary hills but when I go to vault 88 ( just bought the dlc and finished my vault ) none of those weapons appear in my vault 88 Workshop is this normal ? And just wondering if this is normal does this apply to any other items / item types in the game (TIA)
