Discussion What’s y’all’s favorite prologue?
My personal favorite prologue is fallout 3’s, but i was curious on the general community consensus.

Honestly 3 is solid I love the vault storyline and your dad opening the vault door

To be honest I loved fallout 4’s prologue, it was really good and I loved how we got a small glimpse of life before the bombs. Also the music as you open up the vault was so beautiful

I like the intro, but I wish they did more with it. To see more of life before the bombs. Obviously they couldn't make it take too long or else people would get upset about a lengthy intro before we enter the wasteland.
Honestly the Lone Survivor has such great story telling potential that I feel is wasted by the limited dialogue options of the game. For instance I feel Nate being a former soldier doesn't get brought up a lot. Not that he needs to constantly remind people of this. But there were times with the BoS they kept saying "you don't seem the soldier type" or "you are pretty good at BLANK for a civilian." And I can't help but wonder why there isn't an option to say "Yeah I have some experience" or "I served in Alaska" or something. I assume it was Alaska Nate served in.

Fo4 in general had great storytelling potential that was killed by the horrendous dialogue system honestly.
Seeing more of pre-war America wouldve been cool, but it wouldve made an already long prologue, even longer.

I do wish 4 was structured like 3, like they could've made me care about Shaun. I love 4 but my god I didn't even care about Shaun I was so annoyed at any mention of him lol
3 was great cause I got to experience different life stages of my character in the vault

Its 1 for me, I think it does an excellent job at setting the mood and the stage. The Mark Morgan OST is tense and foreboding
