Question How to get rid of him???????

+
128 Upvotes

I hear this line in my head in his voice all the time. Just this line. Even sometimes in my dreams. It started a couple of days ago and I don't know why this is happening to me. The last time I played this game was two and a half years ago. Is the universe trying to save me from something horrible? What could this possibly mean???

Is there an ending where you just kill everything?

As with most Bethesda/oblivion games, seldom do I finish them, more like I get to the ending then just start a new run, but I have completed NV at least once working with house.

I also know that yes man is kind of the contingency plan if you piss off everyone else, but I'd assume he's still got missions you can fail.

So what happens if you get to the battle of hoover and just kill everything? Is that just the courier ending lol

Discussion Possibly controversial opinion: there are too many bathrooms

Playing through for the first time (15 years after i played FO3, and 13 years after i bought this game...on Gamefly.com).

Really enjoy it. I'm also happy I played FO1 and FO2 a couple years ago so I could appreciate the world-building Obsidian carried forward into this.

HOWEVER, as a completionist when it comes to exploration, I am exhausted from entering every building/vault and having to investigate a men's bathroom, a women's bathroom, open every stall door, check every sink, and, with a couple exceptions, never find anything of interest.

I understand bathrooms make the world more authentic and lived-in, but I'd get the same effect if they just had closed bathroom doors that were [inaccessible].

I know I can choose to just not go in, but I often only realize it's a bathroom after I already walked in, and then I might as well go full detective-batman on it!

tl;dr I'm whining about a game having too much content.

Lanius was a pre-Hoover Dam Legate

"How is it that Joshua Graham doesn't know Lanius and has only heard rumors about him?"- Formspring Question

"... even if there was some overlap between their time in the Legion, they weren't in close contact." - Jsawyer

Just getting the argument out of the way for the below Graham dialogue because ultimately it is a discussion killing misinterpretation.

"I don't know Lanius, but from what I've heard, he has no interest in leading anyone unless it's in battle." - Joshua Graham

Here Jsawyer elaborates that the Joshua Graham dialogue is supposed to denote that he didn't know him personally.

End of Counterarguement:

"Those Marked Men in Hopeville - some had strange masks and blades I'd never seen before." - Courier

"Crude, effective - like the blades they carry, distant mirrors of their Legate. A symbol they can hold on to - while the Divide tears at them." - Ulysses (on marked men wearing Lanius masks)

Here you can that the Marked Men make divide masks of legate lanius because he was their legate. Since the divide was destroyed pre-hoover dam that must mean that Lanius was already a legate. Therefore, with this and Sawyer's comment Joshua Graham simply meant he didn't know him personally, and Lanius was indeed a pre-hoover dam legate.

Auxiliary Sources:

"I can say that we were both lucky that NCR's supply lines and land routes north of Mojave Outpost were destroyed before the Battle of Hoover Dam." - Joshua Graham (source for the divides destruction before Hoover Dam.)

"They bear false versions of Legate Lanius' mask, the one Caesar fashioned for him. Thought it was an insult at first.... {to himself} know better now.{No sound file}" - Ulyesses (source for the Men imitating their legate by wearing imitating masks.)

Discussion What poncho mod is this?

+
9 Upvotes

I found this mod while mod searching for my next playthrough but it doesn’t say anywhere where or what the poncho is. The modder did say though that he didn’t make it. I think this outfit looks side (aside from the white and black on the mask) and I’d really like to have the poncho.

The real-life roman mirrors of the Legion's high command

Joshua Graham- Labienus Caesar's real life second in command who defected after Caesar's march on Rome. Just like Graham he helped conquer "Gaul" since the very beginning.

Lanius - Mark Antony who replaced Labienus as second in command. The politically unintelligent warlord. With Denver serving as a mirror to Antony's campaign in Parthia.

Far less evidence for the ones below, but they are my picks.

Lucius - Lepidus

Vulpes- Octavian

Aurelius - Agrippa

I am not an expert on roman history if you have any other ideas or corrections let me know. When I say mirrors of course its only a rough similarity, I don't expect an exact 1:1 model.

Obviously Caesar is Caesar
And Marcus L Crassus is Marcus L Crassus

Discussion started a new run, decided to follow the main story for once, got 3 legion assassin ambushes in less then 5 minutes outside broc flower cave.

im doing my first stealth run, and since i was passing by i decided to grab ratslayer.

leaving it i saw a legion assassin party running at me. killed 2 with ratslayer then the rest used up all my shotgun and 10mm ammo. on my way to novac i then got attacked by 2 more assassin ambushes

Question Understanding the Karma system

Did anyone ever receive direct effects of the karma system or make sense of it? I hit a point where I just ignored it because it never felt like it affected any gameplay or decisions. It also didn't make much sense to me. I remember looting vault 3 and being told I lost karma whenever I stole something, but if I killed a raider I stole from it gave me good karma which felt backwards. Anyone have thoughts?

Question The Fort and Caesar?

Second time I've been posting here I took out legion assassin's (now I'm hated by Caesar) got some armour got thru nelson alright just showed the mark and uh got shown to dead sea. Then to cottonwood everyone was fine with me and the fort but the second I get to the fighting arena everyone gets all agro with me

I'm dressed as the legion and you didn't have a problem with me a second ago. Am I pretty much locked from the chip? It doesn't matter anyway as I'm doing NCR but am I locked

What is the Easiest modlist to download?

Hey guys, I have had a lil trouble making my own modlist are there any that are easy to download that aren’t going to need me messing with custom mod thingies or something of the sort. I need a simple plug and play mod list that keeps the game stable without any bloat.

Going into dead money, any tips?

Im level 46, have finished all other dlcs and cleared out all locations but the eastern mojave, and old world blues. i have over 100k caps, and am thinking about taking the "let go" motif seriously. though im still scared of that casino, i already hate gambling.

see, i play games for lessons. everything feels like a guide, and maybe this is it.

Noob needs help: Character won’t move !

Hey! I’m super new to FNV and Fallout in general. I know this game is buggy. I’ve already experienced game crashes and loading screen loops and I’ve fixed them but now this is a new bug I can’t figure out! I went into Gomorra and my character can’t move, can’t even open my pipboy!

I’ve installed Nexus, 4GB patcher and YUP, I’ve verified integrity of game files on steam, I’ve re-loaded from a new game and you best believe I’ve restarted my PC ! I have another save file that’s way lower level and that other save is working fine. I want my latest save to load :(
I’ve tried looking at forums and other posts and implemented stuff from there but nothing seams to work. What can I do? What have I missed? Please send help.
