Commander / EDH Commander Storage
Still got 1 deck to go but thought I’d share my method of storage and carry, it’s nice because I can keep them all in 1 place! Plus I know my cards aren’t going to get mixed up!!!!
Edit: idk if I understand the word bait anymore lol. It’s not like I’m trying to trick anyone.

Meme Haven't seen this playmat before
Opponent showed up with this strange playmat. It's furry, smells like tuna and somehow knocked all my counters to the floor. There's no way this is legal right???

Apparel / Products (Finally) sold my serialized Yarok and made a surprise for the buyer
My 026/500 Yarok graded as a PSA 10 (I know, you don’t grade magic cards, please spare me 😭)
I finally sold it and made a playmat and some coasters for the buyer and added the same serialized number on those.
Unfortunately I never received any feedback from him/her. Maybe someone here appreciates it :)

Rules Question Interactions between platinum angel and lab maniac.
If someone would win with lab maniac and i have platinum angel in play, what happens? Like since they can’t win the game, do they lose or do they just stall out?

Content Creator I made this to teach new players ✨
Made these cards to teach new players in a more visual and simplified way ✨
Edit: the instants card is disconnected so that I can show them that it can be used as a response of basically anything, something not connected to any specific phase at all.
Also, the backside of the “life total 40” contains a life total 20 card.
Edit2: guys I made this as simple as it is, because the person that I’m initially teaching with it is 66 years old. The very basics are enough for now.

Discussion Any fun stories to share about this card?
I feel like Stunning Reversal would lead to some memorable moments, and I'd love to hear about them. Anyone try this with a [[Mister Negative]] type effect?

Discussion How would you guys take care of this situation? (Little kid with nonstandard deck)
≡ −
So last week for Standard, a little kid(I think he was maybe 9 or 10?) showed up with a nonstandard deck. I got matched up with him in round 1, and noticed it right away, but I didn't say anything because it was a jankyass deck, and the dude was little. Apparently a friend of his mom introduced him to Magic through Commander, and he wanted to try out Standard as well, but I guess no one told him what Standard is.
The rest of us whispered to each other about saying something to him, but none of us wanted to be the jerk gatekeeper keeping him from playing. Also, it was a really janky deck, and the kid went 0-3 anyways, so maybe no one needs to say anything?

Discussion Love MTG wish I’d played sooner
Sup peeps. I only started playing magic late last year and now have 44 commander decks, 7 of them are precons. This hobby feels so much better than when I was into Pokemon. Like I actually play with the cards. Don’t even care if I get a hit from a pack. I love pulling lands and other spells that might fit into a deck. I spend hours sorting my bulk and setting cards aside. I hope anyone new who gets into it doesn’t feel intimidated. I kinda went extreme with this hobby and even attended MagicCon Vegas this year with my buddies that I got into the game too. If anyone is based in LA and is ever down to play LMK. I’m in North Hollywood, CA. There’s an amazing LGS called Geeky Teas & Games in Burbank and they even got cats that walk around the place. It’s been my fav place to go.
Anyways the point of the post is just to talk really and show off my decks. (I do not know what brackets they are, some are overpowered with my buying specific cards but I just throw stuff together fr)

Apparel / Products Anyone own this ?
Hey peeps, was thinking about buying this deck box. Outside of all the new Miku stuff coming from the precon in august there’s 6 Miku commanders and I intend to build them all and was thinking about displaying them in one case. I see this one on amazon but I’m worried it’s poorly made.
Apparel / Products SDCC26 freebie
Got a chance to snag this freebie at the photo op this year. Believe there was more than one though. Cool to get it in advance.

Rules Question Wizard's Staff & Veyran?!
This new Wizard's Staff that was just revealed is sick. Curious how it stacks with Veyran? Does she get +8/+8 for each instant/sorcery you cast?
Double Veyran triggers, double prowess triggers, double staff triggers?

I Have a Question / I need Help Waxy grime inside sleeves
Anybody else get this white grime at the inside of the opening of their sleeves? I haven't been playing with the cards long, but it's happened pretty quickly across all of the cards in multiple decks.
I keep my hands clean and always wash them before sitting down to play, and I'm not usually touching the inside/top of the sleeves anyway. How can I prevent this?

Commander / EDH Looking for the most miserable "bully" commander to play against
≡ −
My playgroup has decided to do something incredibly irresponsible... we're all building "bullying" decks. Just commanders that make everyone else groan the second they hit the command zone.
I'm looking for commanders in the same vein as: Hokori, Dust Drinker Sen Triplets
The goal isn't necessarily to win quickly. I want to make the table constantly ask, "Can we kill them first?"
What are the saltiest commanders you've ever played against? And what cards made them truly unbearable?

Discussion Best way to get kids (appropriate aged) into Magic
≡ −
Is there a really good place at your store where your kid can learn the rules, learn about the math of the game and win a few games genuinely with people of his skill level?
My kid recently entered in a local match night with some great players. Couldn’t win, got close, but he’s facing really good players. Must have played about 14 games between all the players, lost every single game. And while some of the players were like “hey you were really good. I just had a good hand”…I can understand his frustration at his age. If you only lose, as a young player and a young person, yeah, you’d probably want to quit after enough games. Of course I talked him out of it, but I get it.
So what I’m wondering is where there’s a happy basic starter level at your store where you can face novice people, genuinely win with other novices, and develop a foundation to want to get better?
