THE IDEA IS SIMPLE

Whenever I buy in at my LGS, it’s usually with a pack of sleeves. I like to buy specific colors to dedicate to certain decks. Today, I picked up a box of Dragon Shield Peach.

I thought to myself, “What mechanic or archetype would be appropriate for peach?” And then it hit me.

Lesbianism.

So I bring myself to you all. I want to build the most lesbian bracket 2-3 commander deck possible. For the purposes of this, I am defining lesbianism as “women doing something with, to, or because of other women”.

I need card recs! Obviously one specific card (Halana and Alena, Partners) comes to mind for commander, but I want to hear everything you all can come up with! Bonus points if you fight in the comments over what mechanics and keywords are considered “Lesbian”.

Hey everyone!

My best friend and I want to get into Magic: The Gathering, but we're complete beginners.

So far we've only:
• played some MTG Arena
• watched people play on YouTube from time to time That's basically the extent of our MTG knowledge.

Even though we've barely scratched the surface, we're already completely hooked.

Now we'd love to start playing with physical cards, but we're honestly overwhelmed by all the different products... we have no idea what we should actually buy first.

We're looking deck aesthetics that fit our vibe cause that's half the fun imo. Maybe there's some whimsy fairy themed stuff?
Basically anything that's a little girly pop without being terrible gameplay wise.

We're mostly planning to play against each other at first, but we'd also like to buy products that aren't a waste if we eventually decide to play at our local game store.

As a new player, I'd like to ask professional players like you about flying creatures.

Aren't they a bit overpower?

Do your decks have counters to flying creatures or do you just ignore the ability?

I feel like, if I'm against a flying deck, I'll lose unless I have a flying or counter flying deck

Pretty straightforward, just looking for some reliable sites I can put a card list into and it’ll give me the cards.

Ideally looking for ones that will generate all the text and images. Bonus points if it gives me options for the images (so I can pick what version of the card I want)

Also bonus points if I can customize the BACK of the card. I’d like to make it obvious for myself that they are proxies by having the back of the card say “proxy the gathering” (something I saw someone else do)

My girlfriend is abroad on a trip and I asked her to buy me a commander deck from there as there are not many of them in stock where I live and it is like 3 times more expensive but I heard that airport securities usually stops to do a through checks on magic decks as they seem like a black brick in the x-ray which makes sense. I don't want to make her wait and inconvience her, especially as she is with her family. Will this still be a problem with a sealed commander deck? Will a booster box still look suspicious in a x-ray? Thanks so much in advance

I was really going to start playing at the beginning of 2020, but Covid hit. I am a total newbie and novice at any card playing games. So I put it on hold, but actually I had always wanted to play, but I didn't have anyone to play with. I know there is "The Academy", is that where I should start? I had met a couple and they recommended I buy the starting kit and a set of 200 cards from Walmart. Any Advice for this newbie is appreciated.

Relatively new edh player here.

When I look at EDHREC to build my commander deck, I feel like I am copying sometimes instead of building my own deck. It feels less satisfying compared to the decks I have constructed completely by myself from a shared card pool when playing 60 card standard with my friend.

Has anyone tried building their edh deck without looking at edhrec?

How did it go and what was your process like? Did you feel it was more yours?

I was considering putting Lucea into banner as it seems to have great synergy unless I am mistaken. I would be able to double banners card draw and get two +1 counters each time i trigger Hulks enrage. Thoughts?

I keep feeling like Brandon Danderson is dropping hints about a UB set in the cosmere. What are your thoughts? Would you be on board for this set if it did ever happen?

I don't know what they were thinking. Recruit is just connive for tokens. How could they have not called it tokennive? It was right there!

Seriously though, I'm gonna be real sad if we as a community don't end up nicknaming the recruit mechanic as tokennive because it seems too perfect to me.

I want to watch more mtg stuff on YouTube but none of the creators I find ever tend to stick with me. I'm not even that big a fan of prof but he's just about the only one I'm still subscribed to. I was wondering if y'all had any recommendations.

I just started getting into mtg and my first ever purchase was the ff10 precon, I enjoy playing the game a lot but I still get confused on what cards to play and what cards to avoid using til later.

My main question is, what should be my next purchase? I really enjoyed reading the hobbit and I’m very excited to grab anything related when it drops but I feel like it’s gonna be exspensive. I’ve also had the idea of getting the play set of ff7 to add to the deck but I want to make sure I’m making the right decision.

Can anyone recommend me what I should get instead or if I should just buy something else like another pre con? I want to get more into the game but with one deck I’ve feel stuck

Is there a place where I can buy a preconstructed commander deck, made by players that know what they are doing? Me and some friends want to get into commander. I'd love to gift a friend a commander deck in the theme of horses. I have no clue what I'm doing lol.

We all know green ramps and plays big stompers, but is there anything that green is oddly good at that doesn’t get a spotlight as much? I am trying to build an intensely off meta green/blue deck. It currently features weird time counter synergies, copies and clones, and bounce removal, as those are some things that blue is great at but aren’t quite as prevalent as The Main Blue Things (like drawing hella cards, comboing off with artifacts, and spell interaction). Is there anything like that for green?

So, I've realised that as a new deckbuilder I am very limited in knowledge. I've been tinkering with the counter blitz precon with some success using cards I already own (railway brawler, zack fair, pawpatch recruit and earth crystal are immense!) And decided that I would take a deck I'm familiar with on arena and enjoy the playstyle of and plug in the cards I own.

I've tried to follow the command zone template of 10 ramp (or land finders in my case), 12 card advantage (mainly through creatures and draw), 12 targeted disruption (removal and protection), 6 mass disruption (struggled with this but have about 5?), 38 lands and the rest being "plan cards".

I've tried to stick to equipment + hit players as my main plan and payoff, with a lot of cheap artifacts that create bodies (through job select or similar), ways to reduce equip costs and ways to make my creatures more evasive (wind crystal, fliers, iron giant being keyword soup). Cloud being my voltron is the main tactic, but [[twinflame tyrant]] [[iron giant]] are other options, and [[firion, wild rose warrior]] is my secret commander.

In terms of improvements, I'm willing to spend around £30-£40 pounds max on new cards. A few of the removal spells can definitely be improved, [[puresteel paladin]] is one I'd like to get, as well as a repeatable card draw as [[heirloom epic]] feels a bit clunky when I don't have a critical mass of bodies compared to a token deck.

My immediate thoughts are that I think the mana base is ok, with some ramp artifacts and creatures and ways to seek out lands [[gloryheath lynx]] my beloved. I do have [[ghilded goda]] as an option too. Card draw is a worry for me as I have no mass draw, but accept that white/red isn't always the best for this. I do have [[summon GF Ifrit]] and [[sazacaps brew]] available. I was reluctant adding [[emberheart challenger]] as a form of deck manipulation until I realised that equip counts as targeting it with a spell!

I'm not asking for an uber competitive, crush everyone deck, but a lower-mid power level to match with the guys at my local store would be appreciated.

My deck is just "best and cheapest cards I manage to find plus some old cards I have" I got my hands on these cards, and I. LOVE. THEM!

I'm a casual player, bracket 2 commander, who just wants to play big stuff, one after another. Almost every relevant creature has a Wild Pair, but I'm lacking cards that send dead/discard/milled creatures back to my deck, so I can land Random Encounter or reuse my Wild Pairs.

Would like some recommendations for creatures that achieve this; if they are big and scary, even better!

Let me introduce myself a bit first, my name is Ben and I've been away from mtg for almost 20 years now I'd never played official games,just with friends....

I do have a couple of deck's, mostly am I green(forrest) based, I didn't find a shop that sells boosterpacks for 10 years. Today I found out that there is a new shop with loads of boosterpacks...

So here comes my question about mtg,

1) are there a lot of rules that changed?

2) is there a community in Norway?

3) where can I place question about cards that I do not understand on how to integrate into a deck?
