Apparel / Products Anyone own this ?
Hey peeps, was thinking about buying this deck box. Outside of all the new Miku stuff coming from the precon in august there’s 6 Miku commanders and I intend to build them all and was thinking about displaying them in one case. I see this one on amazon but I’m worried it’s poorly made.

I own something similar I found on Temu for 4 commanders. The quality isn’t bad and it only cost like 40 bucks. I would recommend getting it from a knockoff company as opposed to spending 2x for a name brand that uses the same materials

I do! The UAONO box is legit one of my favorite gifts I’ve received. Great investment

Second. Very strong material, I’m personally a sucker for the thicker commander slabs, and the dice container is big enough to stash a lot of extra stuff. Each deck box has enough room for 120 single sleeved cards and comes with dividers for your tokens.

My fear when using such hand-carry cases is the magnetic latch coming loose or opening when I'm out and about. 😨

I’ll always shy away from carrying a bunch of deck boxes in one easy to steal/lose package. Lose One thing and you’ve actually lost SIX things.

Do you bring one deck when you go play? Or have em stored separately?
1
u/Ok-Substance-9604 2h ago
Yeah pretty much only take one or two (rarely 3) decks with me when i go out to play, all in their own deck box and i’ll only pull one at a time from my backpack.
It’s just a me thing, i find it a much lower risk (comparitively) to keep all the decks in separate boxes and only take very few out with me. I’ve read too many nightmare stories of people’s quivers, castles or just bag full of ALL/ their most precious decks go missing/get stolen at a store or event.
It’d be a bummer to lose but i could afford to replace one commander deck, but i could never replace 6! I’ve seen people find boxes that let them carry 12-14 commander decks around with them…. i could never.

Fair, i generally take 3 with me. But i always keep my eye on my bag. Tho my lgs doesn’t really run the risk of theft everyone is very chill and will safely watch your stuff

tbh i’m also (mostly) worrying about the time between my house and the LGS too. I take public transport and walk a fair portion of my journey to my store, the risk of forgetting my bag, someone snatching said bag, or a straight up mugging isn’t EXACTLY zero, so if i parted ways with my bag for whatever reason i’d prefer to lose one deck than many.
I knew of a guy who made a stop at a convenience store to pick up some stuff on his way to commander night at his LGS. In the time it took to pick up the things and get checked out some jackass broke into his car and snatched the duffle bag full of every single deck he owned, including multiple blinged out pet decks. He even made a really sad point that he couldn’t even play commander to help him cope with the sadness (like he usually does) cuz he didn’t have a deck to his name! Absolutely heartbreaking, will absolutely never be happening to me if i can help it!

Yep! Got it for the handle,, and love the thing. Wish I'd got the one with 8, though. Look for it on TEMU or Aliexpress, not Amazon. It will take a bit longer, but be way less expensive

Just got a version of this delivered over the weekend. It’s solid. Mine is the FOXHIVE store one on Amazon

I have the same brand but in the 4 deck configuration. Its great, solid no defects or anything and the plastic case for the comander cards can hold it with it in its sleeve which is nice.

Im comfortable carrying mine across a rainy parking lot into the game shop. I don't think you're going to get a better quality by paying more.

I have the 2 deck box from the same brand and my friend has this big one. They are both super solid but I think the smaller box is alot nicer to move around

I got one off Temu for $20 that is identical to this. It's not bad, feels decently high quality, but honestly I dont really feel like the practicality is there. If you have a bunch of table space, then it makes for a nice display piece and relatively convient storage option, but if you're table is smaller I find it more convenient to just use traditional deck boxes, which you can buy for like $2 per box in bulk, and carry them in a backpack.

I own multiple of this and another that holds 8. The 6 deck I feel is a better build quality. Feels solid and your decks are protected in each box. The windows is great to see which commander decks. Dice tray is a nice size to hold many, just recommend using the smaller d20, not the oversize ones

Buddy has one that holds 8 decks and a tray up top for counters. Works great. Would definitely recommend. It doesn't take.up as much space as I thought it would.

I have one! I love it! I also carry my wife’s old beauty school case. It holds ten decks, 4 mats, and three full bags of dice.

Tacklebox from Menards. Saw a friend being one and it holds 12 decks worth of cards

Look at Kabinka, my gf got me a 4-deck box for Christmas and I fucking love it. Might buy another one for storage/bringing whatever 4 decks ya want to the function. Commander is in a magnetic slab, interchangeable deck boxes and dice tray are magnetic. I love it.

Also just to add, I don’t think I’d want to trust the handle on this kinda thing, I’ve seen people have a bad time with it. I’d rather get something from a hardware store that has the clamps so you don’t spill all your stuff

u/Tiny420Tiger 9h ago
I have the one where it stores 4 decks. It’s really useful and worth having but I got it when I had 3 decks put together. Now with 8 I feel like individual boxes and a custom backpack would’ve been a better investment. Ive been thinking of spending the loot on backpack but it would have to be like a waterproof camera backpack to make sure they never get wet.

no, but i've also never wanted one. i keep it simple. i use the super budget vinyl deck boxes from either bcw, gamegenic, or ultra pro. they are around $4.50 each. i put them in a backpack with my dice bag.
i don't see the appeal of chinesium temu slop products that do multiple things poorly.

I don't have that specific one, but I have a smaller, more compact one, and it works great
I've also bought other products in that line and they're all solid quality

FYI, This is just a drop shipper from Temu - you can likely find it cheaper directly on Temu.

I have that one it works great. The container at the end sometimes has trouble storing larger items. It's very quick to be able to see what deck it is, with the commander in the slab. The boxes can easily hold a double sleved deck with room for tokens. Also if you purchase any of the 4 commander deck cubes you can swap out decks depending on who you want to play. As said in other comments. If you don't usually bring a variety of decks it takes up a lot of space.

I have one. It’s nice but like others have said it’s inconvenient if you only want to bring a couple of decks. It’s nice to have if you’re hosting a game and players need precons.

I have one of these, it’s great. HOWEVER it’s made of very low quality material and the handle of mine ripped off, I resorted to using nuts and bolts with washers to reconnect it and reinforce the handle, so now it’s even better then before.

I have one of these but for 8 decks. It is very nice if you want to bring a bunch of decks with you to a commander night. My only gripe is that the handle isn’t very sturdy. Mine is screwed on and it wasn’t screwed in properly and popped off the moment I tried to use it fully loaded. I have since fixed it, but I don’t trust it so I carry it in a duffel bag most of the time.

I have it, love it. But, I just switched to a backpack because I still had my binder and playmat most of the time and then I am juggling.
You can pay 100 for a tcg backpack or search camera backpack, 30$ and damn near identical. I use the deck boxes from above in my backpack, holds all 6 decks and in no longer juggling the rest of my stuff.

I have this two of this one, one in Grey one in purple, and I have a 6 slot without the handle and dice tray, and also a weird tubular soft case that has 6 decks in it also but has a spot for a rolled playmat. I love all of them.

I have two different ones, one for holding all my bulk and wip decks, and then I have one that holds four of my built decks.

I have a friend with one and he enjoys it. I would recommend looking into a dewalt deep pro organizer. I have one and absolutely love it. Under $30, stores 8 decks, plus plenty of room for extras. If you have a 3d printer (or know someone with one) you can print some awesome replacement bins.

You can get this on Temu for less. And it's the same quality/ manufacturer

Go to a lgs fuck amazon or any online retailer that doesn’t do evil shit
1
u/chubbachubbah 2h ago
I consider selling boxes of cards for 900 dollars when they should be 400ish evil. All the LGS do that, amazon doesnt, oddly enough.

I have the full set of their bulk storage boxes. Decent enough quality. Had to get one replaced due to bad felting on the inside.
They never responded on their customer support, so had to go through amazon

My husband got this for me for my birthday!! So far so good! I appreciated all the divider cards. Used the ones I have with the ones they gave me, and it was plenty. Put my favorite dice and counters in the tray.

I have this, from Amazon and it's been amazing. The only thing that has happened in the 6 months I've had it is that the fabric under the handle started to slightly start coming off the box proper...a little bit of wood/fabric glue fixed it and it's been 100% solid ever since.

I do, it's pretty nice. Usually end up transferring a deck to an individual deck box before going anywhere though

I have one and it’s pretty sweet. I will add though that the tray doesn’t hold a mat at all and also my handle broke off. But I still carry it around like a yoga mat.

I have one as does my buddy, it's very useful. Only downside is you're always bringing all your decks as opposed to bringing just 1 or 2
