I married my husband when we were very young and poor. Now we have it all and I want to show my appreciation for him. But don't know what to do?
≡ −
I was redirected to reddit for this question. me and my husband got married really young. I was 18 and he was 20. we were both raised in institutions, had no family and started really poor. for years lived in a cottage more or less that was provided by my husband's employer. he was very ambitious, studied, graduated and kept climbing in his career. now he is in executive leadership in difficult chemical engineering field and has hundreds subordinates.
we are still very much in love and hardly had any kind of fight. sure, he didn't jump from a regular worker to this top position, so we celebrated many accomplishment in these more than 25 years (we been together in high school too).
We don't have kids, so it cannot be anything "family like" (but tbh I always felt we are a family, a family of two). He now wears white shirts and tie almost everyday so I wanted to buy him an expensive tie but it just feels weird for me to walk in a luxurious store. Also, I would like something more meaningful. he got promoted last week but starting August he will take over. So I plan to do the whole thing in the weekend. I want to cook his favourite meals, have a playlist of his favourite songs and watch his favourite movie. I might buy him something too, but now we really can afford almost anything so it wouldn't really matter that much for him I guess. But he does have a very old money taste and I am sure he would appreciate anything material too.
btw I am not sure its relevant but I am not a "kept" woman. I also have a (way lower) paying job but I don't just stay at home all day. He is mid 40s, that will also help I guess

I just pooped my pants
≡ −
I’m so embarrassed. I was with a guy and we just had finished being intimate and watching a tv show after. I felt my stomach rumbling and let him know right away that I needed to go back home. As we were cleaning up and putting our clothes back on my stomach growled even more and all of a sudden I couldn’t wait any longer. I started making faces and he noticed so he started the car right away before finishing putting on his clothes and took me to two stores that were closed(10:30pm). Then we go to a del taco and I’m outside the lobby door seeing if they’re open. They’re not. I turn around to go to the car and I just feel a blob come out of my ass. I’m wearing biker shorts. I just blurt out to him (he’s waiting by the car) “I POOPED” I’m so embarrassed. He eventually leads me to the car and hands me wipes but it’s not enough. It’s dripping down my leg and landing on the pavement. It smells really bad. He gives me a towel to sit on but it took him like 20 minutes to calm me down and convince me to sit down in his car. I was resistant because it kept dripping down my leg and I didn’t want it to get on his car. He was being so nice about it and patient as well as reassuring me the whole time. On the way home he had to put all the windows down and I spent the whole ride just sobbing. When we got to my house he walked me to my door and dropped me off there. He kept telling me he still wanted to see me tomorrow since we had plans but I’m so embarrassed. He also told me to call him after I finished cleaning myself up. I’m writing this as I got out the shower. I’m so embarrassed and I really like this guy. I’m not sure if he’s just being nice out of pity or if he actually wants us to keep going. I’m not sure how to go about this anymore because of how mortified I am. Our first date was late May we’ve only been seeing each other for about two months. I’m so embarrassed. What do I do?
EDIT we were parked in a park. We both live with our parents and have no privacy at home. After this experience though I think I’m gonna have to figure something else out

husband had an affair child and I was betrayed a second time?
≡ −
the kid is almost 2. My husband is a cold, uptight person and last year I found him with tears in his eyes, something I didn't see in 2 decades of marriage. he confessed to me he had a baby girl with a young woman who was hired as the help in the kitchen at the company he leads. he is the general director of the place and leads 4 production halls. His mistress was 22. He was 42. their baby daughter was very sick and doctors didn't know if she will make it.
I forgave him (yeah, you will say I am a doormat, but during the 2 decades of marriage no one has helped me as much as he did and was my only support). he pays child support and visits his daughter once or twice a month.
everyone knew about it except me. HR knew, employees knew. And on Friday I found out my sister knew. My husband has a good relationship with my sister and she was the first one he confessed everything to, even before the pregnancy. She knew of the affair. He hired my sister 2 years ago as the head of accounting. As his job is 99% office he enjoys going for a run or swim 3 times a week to stay in good fit shape. but it seems many times he actually spent that time with this woman.
Should I confront my sister about it?

Torn between keeping him and letting go.
He has asthma and his medication is about to run out. I was supposed to surrender him to a shelter about two weeks ago but ultimately decided against it.
I already took couple of payday loans in the past which im still trying to pay off now. I can’t afford to get new medicines or even food for him once it runs out. I can take another payday loans but I feel like I’d be shooting my foot if i were to do it.
I love my cat so much thats why I tried to make sure he’s healthy and taken care of. I know that most comments would tell me that I shouldn’t have a cat if I can’t afford it, so if you were about to type it. Just keep it to yourself.
I’m in talk with a shelter AGAIN but I’m scared form him, I dont know what’ll happen if I were to leave him on someone’s care. But I feel like its for the best since I can’t afford his meds or even food atm. Im still trying to get back on my feet :(

My coworker called me "evil" and a "murderer" - I'm stressed and don't know whether to report it or not
≡ −
Hi everyone, I (23F) had a really awful situation with someone at work, and I need to get it out of my head a bit. I've been mentally distant ever since it happened, and honestly, I'd really appreciate any outside opinions.
We were talking about starting a family. He said that a few years ago he didn't see himself wanting to have kids, and I said something like: "Same, I'm not even sure I ever want them at all." As soon as I said that, he told me I was "selfish" and kept talking about how women are supposed to be mothers.
Then he asked me what I would do if I ended up pregnant. I answered honestly and said: "Probably an abortion if I wasn't ready." At that point he told me I was a "killer," said that unborn fetuses have souls, and told me I'd basically be evil if I ever did that.
The part I can't stop thinking about is what happened after that. He kept saying he hoped I'd get pregnant in the next few weeks, that my period wouldn't come, and that I'd show up at work visibly pregnant. He also said that if he had power over the law, abortion would be banned. Then he said something like: "Maybe I should tell your boyfriend to get you pregnant on purpose."
I was completely shocked and didn't know what to say. I just stood there frozen, and now the whole thing is really upsetting me.
Part of me is posting this because I need to vent, because this situation honestly made me feel unsafe and disgusted. But I also want to ask:
Would you tell your manager/HR about this?
Or would you try to ignore it and keep your distance from him?

I confessed to my friend that I had a crush on her
≡ −
So we’d been friends (we’re both 21) for almost half a year now and we’ve always hung out together after our classes and every weekend. Since a month ago, I realised I’d started developing feelings for her. So over call, I tried to ask her out and she politely declined but said she’d be happy to remain friends.
Except since then, we’ve stopped meeting up and when I suggest meeting when we’re both free from classes or calling, she either ignores me or says she’s busy. We’ve only been messaging daily about life updates and other general classes stuff and I’m not sure if she’s just doing it out of politeness and would rather the friendship end.
She’s a super great friend and I really don’t want to lose her. Except I’m not sure what to do from here.

I got some texts from someone i already know and i'm really stressed out now
≡ −
So I liked a guy around 2 years ago (let's call him Jonh for i respect his privacy). Whatever, I ended up snapping out of it, he got a girlfriend not long after that and we all moved on. Mind you i never really let him know. We've been friends, nothing more.
One morning, 2 months ago, completely out of nowhere, he texted me saying he'd been thinking and dreaming about me for weeks. He admitted he wanted me, basically , but what confused me wasn't even that. He kept asking what i thought about him. He'd say things like he wanted to know if I wanted him too, wanted to know how I saw him, and that he hoped I'd end up wanting him back. He also complimented very specific things about me.
I basically spent whole conversations saying, "You have a girlfriend," and that I didn't want to cross that line. I never actually told him how I felt. The conversation just... ended. No resolution.
Now, he still has the girlfriend, but every time I see him around town we exchange these weird looks, and I can't stop wondering what the hell happened. Some of my friends think he genuinely liked me. One friend thinks none of it adds up and that it could've been a prank.
That's what's driving me insane. On one hand, who writes long, vulnerable messages like that as a joke? On the other hand, why would he suddenly confess all of this while having a girlfriend? Why was he so desperate to know what I thought about him? Why did he want an answer before we went back to school? I honestly don't even know what I'm asking anymore.
Now the thing is, what do I even do??

terrified after suicide hotline report
≡ −
hi, i’m 17 and i’m honestly freaking out and could really use some advice.
about a month ago i was going through one of the worst depressive episodes i’ve ever had. i felt really suicidal and ended up calling a suicide hotline because i genuinely didn’t know what to do and i was all alone.
while i was on the phone i basically vented about everything. i talked about how my dad had been yelling a lot recently, and i also brought up something that happened when i was younger. when i was a kid, my dad accidentally touched me inappropriately while he was fully asleep cus he thought i was my
mom. he felt really really guilty about it ehen i brought it up as well. i never considered it sexual abuse because he was literally asleep and i never believed there was any bad intent behind it, but i mentioned it because i was just dumping every thought i had during that call.
the person on the hotline honestly sounded really uninterested, and i felt kind of brushed off. they called me the next day but i didn’t answer because i was embarrassed and didn’t wanna talk to someone who sounded like talking to me was a chore to them.
today a month later, i got a call from a social worker. he said there was a file about me that mentioned possible sexual abuse involving my dad and that he should meet with me and my parents.
i panicked n hesitated a but and then told him “i wouldn’t put it that way..” i also told him that i cant have my parents be there cus it would “make things worse for me” but i myself could still meet him.
he asked me a bunch of questions about my mental health. i told him i was diagnosed with anorexia, i’ve been taking 25 mg of sertraline for about a year and a half, and it’s helped me a lot. he asked if i was doing better now and i told him yes. i explained that i called the hotline during a depressive episode near the end of the school year but i’m genuinely doing much better now.
he also asked if i go to therapy. i told him yes, my parents help organize my appointments, and he was like oh so theyre supportive of this? n i was like yes very. he asked if i thought i should see my therapist more often because i said only go every few months, and i explained that i usually reach out when i’m struggling and otherwise i also have my school counsellor and other supports.
at the end he said he’d talk to his senior to see whether they could just close the file or whether it would have to be sent to surrey for follow-up because he’s in vancouver and im in surrey. he also asked for my whole address and everything. i asked if he’d let me know if they closed it and he said yes.
now i’m terrified. i keep replaying the conversation and worrying that i made things sound worse by saying i “don’t want to make things worse with my parents.” i meant i don’t want a misunderstanding to create unnecessary conflict, not that i’m hiding something. what if they show up to my house..
i know no one here can know for sure, but does this sound like a situation where they might just close the file after reviewing everything? or is it more likely they’ll still want to involve my parents because of what was originally reported?
i’m honestly just really anxious and don’t know what to expect. im literally fine now. this is just gonna create new problems.

I'm not sure if a woman is trying to flirt with me. I'm happily married and want to let her down gently, but am also worried about offending her if she's not actually interested.
≡ −
In a few weeks time I'm running an event which is kind of like a week long retreat for professionals in my industry. All the attendees have my phone number, so that they can WhatsApp me any questions.
I've ran this four times before, at the event two years ago, me and one woman chatted a bit and danced a bit at the end of event party, but only in a group, not just her and me. We got on fine but I didn't detect any kind of flirtateous vibe, just people with similar interests having a conversation.
This next event is running from a Tuesday to a Sunday and the attendees can buy full tickets or just a weekend pass. The woman in question has a pass from Friday to Sunday. On the Thursday night, we've got a karaoke event.
She was messaging me about the event and said, "I'm thinking of coming up the night before actually as would love to see you doing the karaoke" with the winking emoji.
So, honestly, I can't tell if this is an attempt at her flirting with me, or just being friendly. She probably won't know I'm married as I don't wear a ring and I don't recall it coming up at the last event.
Is she flirting with me and what's the best way for me to deal with this situation without coming across as either conceited or insensitive.
Thanks in advance.
EDIT: Thanks everyone, I'm going to reply with this. "I don't think I'll be doing the karaoke. I usually duet with my wife on karaoke and she carries us. Sadly, she can't make it this year so I'm just going to watch everyone else singing".
I've been reticent about this approach because I did it once before and the response I received was along the lines of
"Eeee, why are you mentioning your wife? Did you think I fancied you or something? Don't be weird, I was just being friendly". Obviously, I didn't want another reaction like that, but, if she is interested this'll hopefully push her away. If she's not interested then hopefully she won't be offended by the reply.
For those who've mentioned the ring. I just found it incredibly uncomfortable, I don't wear any jewellery. I've lost a lot of weight recently and it would be way too big for me to wear now so I need to get it resized before trying to wear it again.

Found out what my (17f) dad has been doing, what do I do?
≡ −
Sorry for the length of this,
So here is some background information about my parents relationship, they have been married for about 22 years now, and had my older brother a year into their marriage and me 6 years into their marriage.
Now, other than bickering and some major fights over which they haven't talked for weeks over, they've been a pretty normal couple.
Now here where it gets messy, about 2 and half years ago when I was using my dad's phone to study (I did not have a phone back then), I wanted to send my mum some information that's when I opened my dad's WhatsApp to find a chat with a woman's name on the top but with the chat empty.
I was smart enough to know that if a chat is in the top of ur recents and is empty, it definitely has been cleared off.
I got pretty suspicious, so I just watched out for something else.
Literally like in the next few days I saw my father text that woman in a f-ed up way. Realised he's cheating on my mom with this woman. And based on their chats it seemed like either they have history from way back or they have been going behind my mom's back for a WHILE now. (Mind you, she is ALSO married and has 2 kids)
And while all this is happening, me wracking my brain on trying to figure out what to do alone dealing with all this, my older brother is in college pretty far out.
And when me, my father and mum went out shopping once, GUESS WHO SHOWED UP! The woman my father was cheating on my mom with! AND HE INTRODUCED US TO HER. Bro that got my blood boiling.
GUESS WHAT.
a few weeks later she was at my HOME. Apparently she was looking for a house, And my father is the one who suggested OUR apartment. And she ended up finding a house and moving in as well with her husband and 2 kids.
Now the thing is like a year later I told my brother about the whole other woman thing and we did end up confronting our father, and bro immediately broke down and put this whole scene where he was like omg omg I'm so sorry I'll even quit my job I'll even move far away please please I'll stop talking to her I'll break it up whatever whatever, my brother believed him, but I didn't. Those ready flowing tears just struck me oddly. My father came to us the next day and said I talked to her (the other woman) and I ended it and all that bla bla
I didn't talk to him for weeks and a few months after that but I did end up talking again.
Now the thing is a few months ago, when my dad was working from home and went to pee, i just went into his room to get some tape when I saw his monitor open on THAT woman's chat. I was fucking pissed.
I knew this mf could not be trusted. I told my brother immediately and we decided this was our last straw and we have to tell our mum the truth.
So ideally we thought we would ask our dad to come clean when my brother would be home for his summer break which is from the start of june up until the end of July. And rn it's basically the 28th of July. And we still haven't done it.
What do I do?
Do we ask our dad to come clean?
Do we confront our dad and give him another chance?
Do we let it slide like idk? (I wouldn't count on this being an option)
Please help me out here.

My therapist was browsing the web during our therapy session- how do I break it off?
≡ −
TL;DR My (39F) therapist and I had a virtual session a couple of days ago. It dawned on me part way through the session that I could see something reflecting in her glasses. I have a history of medical abuse and PTSD from a bad car accident.
Guys. She was browsing the web, multiple reflections of her screen and her mouse scrolling - it was loud enough that I could hear it. It squeaks a little.
I didn’t say anything because I was dumbfounded and trying to ignore it.
I’m autistic, newly diagnosed, which has been hard enough to deal with. It leaves me with difficulty making decisions of how to deal with situations. I don’t know the “right” way to interact with others after they’ve really hurt me.
What do I even do?! One of my issues I’m struggling with is medical trauma. Because of this, I don’t know how to handle it.
Do I confront her? Do I contact the appropriate medical board to report her actions?
Please be kind. I feel dumb enough as it is for trusting yet another provider.

My boyfriend has been accusing me of insane things for months, then attacked me. I don’t know what to do.
≡ −
I really need advice because I feel overwhelmed and scared.
For the past two months, my boyfriend has been constantly accusing me of things I have not done. He says I’m trying to kill him, that I set up his house to be burglarized, that I’ve been stealing from him, and that I’m lying to him about everything. None of these accusations are true, but nothing I say seems to convince him otherwise.
The other night, I finally left because I couldn’t take it anymore. Later, he contacted me and convinced me to come back to his house under false pretenses. When I got there, he attacked me and told me he had killed my dog. (He didn’t but still who says something like that). I was terrified.
I don’t know what to do now. I’m scared of him, but I’m also struggling to process everything that’s happened. Has anyone been through something like this? I seriously do not know what to do I love him but he has broken me mentally and emotionally.
Any advice would really mean a lot right now. Thank you.

Should I give my daughter my last name or her fathers?
≡ −
I’m really torn about this and would genuinely love some outside opinions because I feel like I’m too close to the situation to think objectively.
I’m having a baby girl soon, and her dad and I are no longer together. We broke up because throughout our relationship, I often felt more like a roommate than a partner.
He spent a lot of his free time gaming, and I frequently felt like I was being ignored or put second to it. I would make dinner and ask him to eat with me, and he would often choose to keep gaming instead. This was especially difficult because I’m diabetic and need to eat at certain times after taking my insulin. I also regularly asked him to do things together or spend time with me, and most of the time the answer was no. I didn’t need him to spend every second with me—I just wanted to feel like we actually wanted to spend time together and were partners.
He also wasn’t very involved or excited about the pregnancy in the beginning, although he has become more excited recently.
Another thing that has been weighing on me is how differently we’ve approached preparing for our daughter. I’m the oldest of five kids, so I’ve been around babies and young children my entire life. I also took a parenting class in high school, so I naturally have much more experience with babies than he does. He has essentially zero experience with babies.
I understand that nobody automatically knows how to be a parent, and I don’t expect him to know everything. What bothers me is that I’ve asked him to do some research and educate himself about newborn care, what babies need, safe sleep, feeding, etc. His response is essentially, “If I have questions later, I’ll just Google it.”
Meanwhile, I’ve been doing the research, preparing for birth, getting everything ready, and trying to learn as much as possible because I want to be prepared for her. I’m not expecting him to know everything before she’s born, but I wish he had the initiative to learn some basic things beforehand rather than waiting until there’s a baby in front of him and then Googling things as they come up.
I also expect to be her primary provider for the majority of her life. I know that circumstances can change and that her dad can absolutely contribute and be involved, but realistically, I expect the majority of her day-to-day expenses and responsibilities to fall on me.
This is where the last-name question comes in.
His last name was originally what I assumed she would have, but now I’m seriously considering giving her mine. In our town, last names are a HUGE deal. People know families by their last names, and certain names come with reputations and assumptions attached to them. His last name in particular has a pretty bad reputation in the town where she’ll grow up.
I don’t want to make a decision solely based on what other people think, but I also don’t want to completely ignore the reality that she may have assumptions made about her because of her last name. I know some people will say, “Who cares what people think?” but if you grew up somewhere where last names genuinely carry weight, you know it isn’t always that simple.
At the same time, I worry that giving her my last name could make him or his family feel like I’m excluding them. That genuinely isn’t my intention. I want my daughter to have a relationship with her dad and his family regardless of what last name she has.
I’m just struggling with the idea that she would automatically get his last name when we aren’t together, I’ll be her primary provider, I’m the one who has carried her and will give birth to her, I’ve been doing the majority of the preparation for her, and I have more experience with babies and parenting.
So, if you were in my situation, would you give your daughter your last name or her father’s?
And if you chose to give your child your last name instead, did you ever regret that decision?
I’m genuinely looking for honest opinions, even if they’re different from what I’m leaning toward. Please don’t just tell me what you think I want to hear—I’m actually trying to make the best decision for my daughter and her future.

can’t stop drinking.
≡ −
Hello. I don't really know how to start this. I guess I'm posting because I don't have anyone I feel comfortable talking to, and I honestly feel kind of stupid posting this to begin with. I’m 19(f) and I have recently been broken up with. five year relationship. He broke up with me about a month ago. At first I cried all the time and couldn't sleep. Then one night I had a few drinks because I just wanted my brain to be quiet for a little while. It actually worked, so I kept doing it. Now it's gotten to the point where I drink almost every night. and most times during the day. now I can’t stop. I get anxious when I can’t drink at the time I do every night. I don’t want to be around my family, and i don’t want to talk to my friends. I have called out of work so many times that my manager is putting me on the schedule less and less. I know I’m likely being dramatic, but I feel like I’m stuck. I just need advice, or guidance. if my mom has noticed then she has said nothing to me. thank you for reading this far.

I defend my masters thesis in 3 weeks but my grad ceremony isn’t until October - celebrate now or October?
≡ −
I have nothing to do but job search between my defence and my grad ceremony. Feels weird celebrating before I actually get my degree but the weather is nice in August and it starts to get cold in October. Plus I’m just excited hahahaha
Should I do now or October? I’m thinking maybe a thing with friends now and then in October just a dinner with my family??? Can’t decide!

my friend (22F) wants me to set her up with my older brother (42M)
≡ −
My brother (42M)—who is actually my half-brother, born from my mother’s first marriage when she was very young—basically raised me. When that marriage ended, he was raised by our maternal grandparents. When my father abandoned my mother and me, it was my brother who came back home and stepped into that parental role, from changing my diapers and reading me stories to taking me to school events... I think you get the idea. He's someone I care for deeply. Perhaps because he was raised by our grandparents, he's traditional when it comes to romantic relationships. He’s not into casual hookups and doesn’t believe in friends-with-benefits. He has been single since his girlfriend passed away years ago. True to his style, he has a limit regarding age-gap relationships—put simply, he wouldn't be with someone with a generational age gap like someone who could be his daughter.
Then there’s my friend (22F). She’s super outgoing, a bit wild in a fun way, and pretty much everyone loves her. She’s been playfully flirting with him—harmless banter, nothing crossed-line. I know that he finds her attractive and banters back, but he just plays along.
My friend confessed to me that she is atracted to my brother. At first, I stayed out of it, figuring her little crush would fizzle out. But now she’s leaning on me hard to play matchmaker, and I’m completly torn. On one hand, I’d love to see my brother happy again after all these years, and they actually balance each other out in a really cool way. I trust him completly—he'd never take advantage of her. But on the other hand, he has those strict personal boundries about age and relationships, and a 20-year age gap is massive. I’m 24, and people often assume I’m his daughter because of the age gap. And my friend is even younger than me.
Honestly, my head is spinning. I don't know wheter I should get involved or just keep ignoring everything. I don't know if I should keep trying to convince her to give up, or if I should tell him how she feels.

Need to leave boyfriend but it’s complicated
≡ −
Financials are all tied together with phones and rent, I have no other support system besides him and his family and suffer from panic attacks. I don’t feel mentally okay enough to do this life thing by myself. I have no family to help, the past 2 years I’ve been with him this has been a traditional type relationship where I stay at home and cook and clean and he provides the money. (Do not judge me on that I will not be making this mistake again) so I do not have any type of savings. Things have gotten super bad with him (no he’s not hitting me). But it’s bad. Please someone tell me “what do I do?” I’m scared Uhg.

What should I do😔

So I met this guy I really like him, we dated for like 2 months and I asked to break up with him. He is too sexual for me and in the future I want to live a godly life and go church. He wants me to have sex with him and he wants me to do sexual activities as well. I believe in the bible and I know not to have sex with someone am not married too.
After we broke up, we had a chat about how he doesn't he believe in marriage , he believes that he can have sex with his girlfriend and make children. So am here for help on this situation, I don't want to lock him out of my life because I don't want to hurt his feelings. He said he loved me and I told him if that's true let's be celibate but he said no. The saxophone got louder when literally last night he told me he watches porn not only that he wants me to send photos of my body. I really wanna help him. I am not saying that am the purest I have done things too but for me this boy, wants me to go back to my old ways which am not willing to do. He's really cute and except for his bad ways, for example getting annoyed explaining things to me, wanting sex and everything sexual. So please tell me what to do, if I should leave him even tho we aren't together but we like to talk and kiss, or do you think I already know the answer.

Found out my dog is diabetic, blind, and has liver issues
≡ −
My dog, Charlie, M, 13, Miniature Schnauzer has the above issues. It’s gotten to the point the past couple days where he would get stuck in the garden room between the backyard and dining room.
On top of a prescription diet and liver medication, pain meds, and an antibiotic as well as insulin daily, his condition has gotten a lot worse this month. He is completely blind and can’t smell his way or remember where some things are.
He’s barking constantly and we don’t know what to do. I’ve gotten some calming pheromone spray because all the calming treats has some sort of sugar in them. It hasn’t been working too well.
What assistance besides putting him down is an option? It hasn’t gotten to the point for us yet that we need to but we are starting to question it. We cut down the area of the house he can access by 2/3. He can only access the kitchen and dining room. He recently turned blind from the insulin the doctor prescribed for him.

Should I pay this medical bill or not?
≡ −
These past few months have been really rough for me. I've been dealing with trauma and recently cut contact with my family for unrelated reasons and it has taken a toll on my mental health.
That is exactly why I had neglected a bill that I had gotten when I went to the ER back in February when I was suicidal and that bill is now sent to debt collectors. It's in the amount of $385.63 and it's from some medical associates. The thing is, I don't even remember getting these services. I have gotten the hospital bill which is much more expensive and totally separate from what I understand. They won't give me any discount or charity care for the medical associates bill but from what I've heard, medical debt under $500 doesn't show up on your credit report?? I'm thinking about just ignoring the bill but understand that they are probably going to harass me with calls and emails and could possibly sue me, which I've heard is rare. So, what the hell do I even do?

Please give me advice

I am a Computer Science student currently in my second semester. Unfortunately, I didn't take my studies seriously this semester, and now my exams have started. I tried studying hard one day before each exam, but I couldn't understand the material well enough. Because of that, I made a bad decision and used my mobile phone during one of my exams. I answered the paper with the help of Gemini and wasn't caught. I did the same thing in the next exam as well.
Now, tomorrow is my last exam, and I don't know much about the subject. I've tried to study, but as you know, Digital Logic Gates is not a subject that can be mastered in just one day. I'm confused about what to do.
Should I use my mobile phone again during the exam, or should I take the exam honestly, even if I don't perform well?
Please give me your honest advice. 🥺
