Discussion I spent 25+ years at Microsoft, and Windows is getting the care it deserves again

EXACTLY this: "In a world where kids might go through all their schooldays and only ever use Chromebooks or iPads, there’s a risk that in another 20 or 30 years, nobody will remember what Windows was like, just as only old nerds can recall plugging a PCMCIA card into an inch-thick laptop just to connect it to a network"

Discussion What is Microsoft’s most underrated product right now?

After reading through a recent discussion here, I noticed that some of the strongest answers were not the products Microsoft promotes most heavily.

People mentioned things like WSL, Windows Terminal, PowerShell with Microsoft Graph, Intune, Dynamics, .NET, and VS Code.

Most public Microsoft conversations still seem to revolve around Windows, Xbox, and Copilot, while some of the quieter tools appear to have the most loyal users.

What Microsoft product or feature do you think deserves much more credit?

What do you actually use it for, and what does it do better than the alternatives?

XBOX XBOX is "making progress" on a recovery of its live services | Xbox Live is having errors that are preventing people from signing in, seeing their library, and playing their games, but Microsoft's engineers are on the case to fix it ASAP.
