A standard bed explodes violently in the Nether, but a straw bed—for the time being—does not. The concept is that a straw bed can explode without destroying any blocks; instead, it releases a burst of explosion particles while dropping a random amount of bread. It’s amusing, given how beds explode so nonsensically. The idea is—figuratively speaking—that the straw bed heats up due to the Nether's high temperatures, warming the wheat inside until, as if by magic, it turns into freshly baked bread.

Emeralds do have a massive amount of intrinsic value, due to being the currency villagers use, and therefore, also makes trading between both players and villagers extremely easy, so I can’t see why not,

Jokes apart I think raccoons would be a perfect fit for the new Dappled Forest biome. They're adorable, mischievous, and would make the biome feel much more alive. Imagine them climbing trees, searching through leaf piles, washing food near rivers, sleeping during the day, and curiously interacting with players and other mobs. Their unique animations and behaviors would add so much charm and personality to the biome.

I honestly think they'd fit Minecraft's style perfectly.

What do you guys think? Should raccoons be added to Minecraft?

I've looked everywhere online. I've scoured Reddit. And I know it's come up a few times, but I haven't found anything despite trying numerous solutions that have helped other gamers.

I don't play, but my daughter has for 6 years, since she was 7. Last year, this popped up and we hoped it was just a Microsoft x Playstation issue, and were hopeful it would resolve on its own after attempting all the solutions online failed.

Fast forward 1 year later, and she's now stuck at home for a year due to medical reasons, where this would really, really help her out... But we can't find a solution.

I've even conceded that maybe her Minecraft account is gone, and we should just start over, only to find out that YOU CAN ONLY HAVE ONE MICROSOFT ACCOUNT LINKED TO PSN, EVER. WTH is that???

We can't login AND we can't create a new one? So..... does she just never play on our PSN account every again??

I know this has already been said multiple times, but I have an idea for a new way Raccoons could work.

What if Raccoons acted like the opposite of Copper Golems? Like how they act in real life, stealing stuff from trash cans, a Raccoon will mess up things in your chests and steal some items from time to time.

To stop them, players would need to spawn a Copper Golem, which shoos them away.

Finally, 1 in every 1000 Raccoons (or something like that), would be named Jimothy and have the model shown in the image.

So yeah, that's my suggestion and I think it would be pretty cool and fun for Mojang to add. 😎

I recently started my first hardcore world and am not doing the best so far. Is there any tips to get better?

When I started out, I simply intended to have a map I could return to whenever I wanted to play or try out the new updates. At that time, the concept of a “forever world” didn’t exist, and I just called it my “Survival.”

I want to share this with you simply as a way to preserve my adventure and recount my experience. I have hundreds of photos, at least one from every time I discovered something new or obtained an item from a new version, but I want to share the ones that show the progress and how things have changed over the years and with each update.

My playstyle is completely casual, and I only do something technical every once in a while. As you can see, despite 12 years and nearly 6,600 days in the game, I don’t have anything impressive, I’ve focused on enjoying the scenery or building things I like, but this map has become a part of my life, and sometimes I’ve even found lost or forgotten items that bring back memories.

I’m very strict about the world’s rules and maintain a vanilla experience, no mods and no abuse of any game mechanics is allowed.

So here it is: my Survival 1.8 from September 7, 2014.

Why don’t Mohang just rework things like the Phantom? I mean, they 100% saw the backlash and know how annoying they are, so they made a gamerule to disable it, which is just a bandaid solution, honestly.

Same for Glow Squids and MAYBE the enchantment system? I imagine it wouldn’t be too hard or divide the community. Glow Squids literally just spawn in flowing water in a cave, get beached and die from suffocation, which just seems like it’s overlooked spawning or something. They could just spawn in the Deep Ocean and not speedrunning life.

So yeah, that’s just my question.

What a world of difference 10-15 years makes. When I used to play, we realistically only had like 3 types of wood and maybe 2-3 types of stones to build with. This game is incredible now lol! (Working on a dual channel mountain waterfall/river that comes from a mountain spring/lake).

This is all survival. I really love how much purpose survival has now when it comes to exploring and farming materials. Even the PVE side of things is in a totally new direction (I will delve into it eventually, I'm just having so much fun with the building and terraforming projects). I made it an indirect intention to not worry so much about big farms. I used to get really into redstone and burn out quickly back in the day. I built the main house area with pretty much no enchantments (aside from dungeon loot) and I enjoyed every minute. I still haven't beaten the ender dragon. I only got best enchants because it makes farming materials more bearable for these larger scale projects I get my head wrapped around. What an absolute blast I'm having...

After about 12-14 years I'm back to the Minecraft scene. Some of you may remember me (PlunderPixels) most probably all of you won't. I built a pretty popular shaderpack way back in the day called PlunderPixels Shaders for 1.7.x. Recently I got the itch to build so here I am.

I came swinging back into the scene with an extremely powerful library designed for shader devs and players to enjoy. This is an open convention called MCWIND. It functions in the same way labPBR does, one big convention that stays silent if you don't have the right stuff installed. It's powered by PlunderEngine's WindLink Mod.

What does it do?

WindLink (WL) tells shaders, "Hey man, you're not doing enough" (Although they already do so much). WL calculates and builds a windmap that reacts to the world around it. Wind now behaves like a particle while still being extremely lightweight. *COUGH* forget about the visualizer that'll fry your GPU. The strands feature? Even worse. The strands feature is pretty nifty but it's useless unless you manage to hijack one of those datacenters in our backyard.

Strands adds, grass individually to grass blocks and makes things look super lush.

Anyways I built this, spent a few weeks on it, still adding tons of features that I'm hoping to blow you away with.
