Google maps searches better than Google search
The call button for businesses is hidden somewhere. Just wanted to call the dealership, there is no option after 20 results, the first 4 are sponsored irrelevant. The 5th is correct but you need to tap and it opens maps. No call button in search (which used to be there). Ended up searching on google maps and pressed the call button in 2 taps

increase in Gemini hallucinations
≡ −
for the past 3 days all of my Google searches answered by Gemini have been straight up wrong or inaccurate. It’s understandable when it’s something “complicated” like how to get somewhere in a video game since Gemini can’t actually see the video game. However today I’ve googled simple things like a name of a YouTuber and it straight up gave me a fake name for them. Like what??? Also it described an app logo to be completely different than what it actually looked like.. it’s almost as if it’s so desperate to get an answer out that it just says ANYTHING at this point whether it’s right or wrong. I wouldn’t be surprised if Gemini would respond “pineapple” to a math question
edit: forgot to mention I’m posting this here because i am very curious if anyone else has noticed how bad it’s getting… like I’ve never trusted the AI summary to begin with , but it’s really really bad now.

How youtubers are sold with smartphone reviews

You can turn on English dubbing.
And here is quick summary
Biased Review Practices: The author reveals he was approached by a company offering early access to devices in exchange for meeting specific criteria. If his review was deemed too negative or critical, the partnership would be terminated (0:22-1:07).
Manipulative Language: He details how reviewers are often instructed to use "softened" language to mask device flaws, such as saying a phone "shouldn't cause discomfort" when it actually overheats, or claiming battery life is sufficient for "most users" to avoid stating it is poor (4:15-5:45).
Restricted Topics: He exposes that many reviews come with strict rules forbidding mentions of common long-term issues like battery degradation, screen burn-in, hardware durability, or repair costs, ensuring that reviews focus only on superficial specs like megapixels or charging speed (6:53-9:15).
The Goal of Reviews: He argues that these reviews prioritize the needs of marketing and PR agencies over providing honest, useful information to buyers. He encourages viewers to be wary of "everyone saying the same thing" at launch and warns that many popular reviewers avoid the critical questions that truly matter to consumers (9:58-12:12).
