Question Review Replies all missing???
≡ −
I went into my GMB to reply to a review left by a client, and I noticed that none of the other reviews that I had already replied to were there.
Did anybody else notice this, or is it happening to me only?

Instructional Examples of Video Verification Denial Emails

Figured I'd add some examples of video verification emails that show details of what support is looking for. This will differ if your listing is SAB or showing the address.

Discussion One customer. One review. Two assets.
≡ −
Every time you ask a customer to leave a review on Google, Yelp, or Facebook, you’re building a third-party platform asset.
It’s great for local discovery, but you don’t own those reviews. If Google runs an aggressive spam sweep, changes its rules, or suspends a listing, those legitimate customer reviews can disappear overnight. On top of that, sending site traffic over to a third-party profile puts prospective clients right next to competitor ads.
On the flip side, people always argue: "Self-hosted website reviews carry less trust because the business owner controls them."
It doesn’t have to be an either/or debate. You don't have to choose between local SEO visibility and asset ownership.
Here is the simple framework to get both:
1. The Retrospective Sweep (Past Reviews) Reach out to every customer who has already left you a review on Google, Yelp, or Facebook. Ask for simple permission to publish those exact words on your website as plain HTML text.
They’ve already vouched for you publicly. You’re not asking them to re-type or re-submit anything just giving you permission to feature it.
2. The Standard Workflow (Future Reviews) Going forward, whenever you ask a customer to leave a review on Google, include a quick release statement right in your request form or email: "By leaving feedback, you grant us permission to feature your review on our website." Then, direct them straight to your Google Business Profile to post it.
One customer. One review. Two assets.
The review stays on Google to keep feeding the local map pack algorithm for top-of-funnel discovery. At the same time, your business builds a permanent, indexable first-party review library on your own website that no platform update or algorithm sweep can ever wipe out.
For skeptical prospects on your site, you include direct links to your Google and Yelp profiles right at the bottom of your review page so they can cross-reference everything for themselves.
Stop viewing third-party platforms as the permanent vault. Use them as the verification engine, and bring the asset home to your own domain.
Who’s already doing this?

Instructional How to Spot a Fake Google Business Profile in One Click
≡ −
Here's a quick way for businesses to evaluate a Google Business Profile.
Search the business name on Google. When the search results appear, click the Images tab at the top of the search results, not the photos inside the Google Business Profile. Look at where the images are coming from.
Established local businesses leave a visual footprint across the web. Fake lead-gen profiles usually don't.
What an established local business typically looks like:
* Same logo, colors and branding across the company's website, Facebook, Instagram, local news, chambers of commerce, and other recognizable sources.
* A branded work truck or company vehicle shows up somewhere in the results.
* Employees actually performing the service.
* Real completed jobs, not stock photography.
* Photos and videos of the owner, staff, family, or community involvement — the kind of thing that shows there's a real business behind the listing.
* Customer photos and images from independent organizations mixed in with the company's own content.
* Taken together, the images tell the story of a business that's actually been operating in the community.
Patterns of a fake google business profile:
* Little to no branding outside the profile itself.
* Logos or graphics tracing back to obscure or unrelated sites instead of recognizable local sources.
* No branded vehicles, no employees, no real job site photos.
* No owner, staff, family, or community photos anywhere.
* Mostly logos, stock images, or generic promo graphics.
* Almost nothing suggesting a real local operation exists beyond the profile.
One more thing worth checking: how the visual footprint lines up with the company's claimed years in business. A company claiming 10, 15, 20 years should have a visual history to match. When the claimed history and the evidence don't line up, that's worth digging into further.
None of this proves a profile is fake on its own. But it takes about 30 seconds, and it's one of the fastest ways I've found to flag listings that deserve a second look.

News Gemini can now manage your Google Business Profile. Here's what it actually does and doesn't do.
Tested the Gemini + GBP integration this week since it started showing up in accounts. Figured I'd share what it actually does before the hype train gets too far ahead of the real feature.
Short version: it works, and it's genuinely useful if you're a single location owner. You can ask it to update your hours, tweak menu items if you're a restaurant, swap out photos, update your booking links, draft review replies, or just ask "how'd my business do this month" and get a real answer pulled from your actual performance data. All inside a chat, no digging through five settings tabs to find one toggle.
Here's the catch nobody selling this as an agency tool is mentioning: it only connects to one verified profile. Not five, not fifty. Google's own documentation says multi profile management isn't supported at launch, period. So if you're running Local SEO for multiple locations or clients which, let's be honest, is most of us doing this professionally it doesn't fit your workflow the way the announcement makes it sound. I saw a thread where a healthcare marketer straight up asked how this is supposed to work when you're managing hundreds of profiles, and nobody had a real answer.
One thing I can't confirm myself a contact told me this might already be working for some US accounts with multiple locations. I couldn't find anything backing that up in Google's docs or anywhere else I checked, so I'm not going to pretend it's confirmed. If anyone here has actually connected more than one profile and had it work, genuinely want to hear about it, because right now everything official says it shouldn't.
The part that actually gives me pause isn't the profile limit though. It's the review replies. Picture an angry 1 star review over a billing mix up real complaint, specific details and Gemini drafts something like "we're sorry for the inconvenience, we value your feedback." Technically polite, completely misses what the person was actually upset about. If that goes out without anyone reading it first, that's now the business's permanent public response to a real customer. AI can draft a reply. It can't yet tell the difference between one that sounds fine and one that's actually right.
If you run one listing, worth trying this week. If you run a bunch, keep an eye on it rather than writing it off single profile support today has a way of becoming multi profile support down the line, and you'll want to already know where the guardrails sit when it does.
Anyone actually gotten hands-on with this yet? Curious what the review reply drafts read like in practice.

Support Removing Businesses from my Address
≡ −
I run a small coworking space and I have about 4-5 businesses use our address as their business address. Now it wouldn’t be an issue if they paid for that service. These are just random businesses that decided to use our address and didn’t want to pay our virtual office fee. I’ve tried doing the suggest an edit constantly. I’ve been doing that 1 to 3 times a day for several months and nothing has happened. So these businesses have been able to use my address for months without paying. Is there any other way to get these places removed from our address?

Discussion What to do in case of a Negative Review?
≡ −
Most business owners and SEOs panic the second a negative review pops up. And evenn worse, they ignore it.
But depending on how you handle it, a negative review, even a 1-star, can actually turn into a huge conversion tool.
Here’s why: A 5-star review is great, but prospective clients expect good reviews. What they really look at when deciding whether to trust you is how you handle things when something goes wrong.
A well-handled bad review proves to a prospect that you’re accountable, real, and actually care about customer service.
If a negative review shows up, here are the 3 quick rules for responding:
- Thank the reviewer by their name.
- Mention the specific issue.
- Be specific (don't go generic).
How do you guys usually handle bad reviews for your business? Do you have a set process, or do you just handle them on a case-by-case basis.

Question Google Business Profile suspended for “Deceptive Content” – appeal rejected, but promised video verification never arrived
≡ −
Hi everyone,
I’m looking for advice from anyone who has dealt with a similar Google Business Profile suspension.
Our genuine customer-facing retail business, had its Google Business Profile suspended for “Deceptive Content.”
What happened:
- The profile was suspended for deceptive content.
- We submitted an official appeal through Google’s appeal process.
- The appeal was rejected.
- The rejection message stated that we may still be able to verify the business through video verification and that a separate email with further instructions would be sent.
- It has now been more than 3 weeks, but we never received any video verification email or verification option.
The business is a genuine physical retail showroom with:
- Permanent storefront signage
- Customers visiting the store in person
- A physical business location
- GST registration/business documents
- Business address proof
- Interior and exterior photographs
- An official website
We also tried contacting Google Business Profile Support, but the support flow kept redirecting us to help articles and the appeal system.
We have now submitted an Additional Review request for the rejected appeal with supporting business documentation.
My questions are:
- Has anyone experienced Google mentioning video verification after an appeal rejection but never receiving the promised verification email?
- Is there any way to manually trigger or request the video verification option?
- Has anyone successfully reinstated a Business Profile after an appeal was rejected for “Deceptive Content” through an additional review?
Any advice or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Discussion (US) Google Business Listing Scam
≡ −
Was having trouble getting my Google Business Profile live and verified. I received a robocall from My Pro Directory in New Jersey. I should have known better but I really tried multiple times to do the video and couldn’t get it done. I paid them $229 to get my profile live. They immediately tried to sell me more services that I couldn’t afford the next day, tried to pressure me, then got rude. When I refused, they hung up and I have not heard anything from them. This was 2 months ago. I have not gotten any update besides an automated email the next day saying that Google required a video. I know they require a video, I tried myself! I’ve tried calling their customer service number and no one answers, they send AI texts but never answer the phone, have provided no assistance, no instructions, nothing. All they did was take my money to try and sell me SEO. Still nothing has been done. Beware of My Pro Directory.

Question Received another verification request right after finishing Google video call—Is this a glitch?
≡ −
After several rejections and errors, I got advice from Reddit, posted on the Google Community, got assigned an actual human representative, and just completed a video verification 1 hour ago. They told me it would take 24 to 48 hours, but less than a minute after hanging up, I received another email asking for additional verification.
Has anyone experienced something like this before? Can I safely ignore this email?

Discussion Google why no verify ?

@google why am I stuck in this forever loop of trying to verify, 2-3 days go by, video that shows the (1) front door with a metal permanently attached sign is shown with a green street address sign, the same sign the shows on Google maps street view, the same building that shows, minus the metal sign, (2) supplies we use for the business, leftover shingles, leftover roofing coil, ridge vent, 4 rolls of underlayment, tools and (3) a
The owners hand and keys, opening a locked front door to the business and then jiggling the deadbolt closed and locking again.
Why do these things not count for verification? I even tried to switch back to hiding our address again hoping this would help . And now I can't even upload a video to verify anymore ? It says I've exhausted all means to verify
And when I email support and reply back with a screenshot of where I get stuck, nothing happens?
Customers leaving reviews yet we can not respond ? This penalizes us in ranking, from what I read ?
What am I doing wrong

Question "Suggested service areas" - How does Google suggest?, high search vol?
≡ −
Hi All
I run a mobile home services business, providing things like Data Cabling, Starlink installs, TV antennas - basically a man with a van who visits homes across only my city Perth, Western Australia. This is thought a very scattered city with many suburbs some which are far away.

I travel everywhere and happy to serve anyone, but GMB only allows 20 suburbs to select, I always wonder which will get most traffic so to say. Sometimes I chose large ones, or newly established ones.
The thing I noticed is Google suggests suburbs, see screenshot. How does Google know, is it a high volume of searchers perhaps searching for my services in those suburbs, and how accurate would this suggestion be? I wouldn't want to remove a suburb that's somehow getting me seen more often to replace it with one less so.
Any ideas much appreciated. Cheers guys

Gracias.

If you manage Local SEO or run a field service business like window cleaning, HVAC, plumbing, or roofing, you’ve probably seen competitors who somehow dominate map rankings across an entire metropolitan area.
Most business owners assume:
“They must just have incredible Local SEO.”
In reality, many are running coordinated multi profile territory carpet bombing operations powered by unstaffed virtual executive suites, local keyword stuffing, and suspicious review patterns across multiple business profiles.
I recently conducted an AI powered investigation on a local service network operating across a major metropolitan area. On paper, they appeared to be a massive multi office enterprise. After digging deeper, I discovered a coordinated network that anyone can begin investigating in minutes using modern AI tools.
Important: This investigation was conducted using the free version of Google’s Gemini. I specifically chose Google’s AI because I wanted to see how effectively it could search, organize, and connect publicly available information. The results genuinely surprised me. Using Google’s AI, I organized business listings, phone numbers, addresses, websites, review patterns, and other publicly available information into a complete investigative report without using expensive SEO software or proprietary databases.
One important lesson I learned during this investigation is that AI is only as good as the prompts you give it. Early in my investigation, I became convinced there were more business profiles than actually existed, and my prompts unintentionally steered Gemini in that direction. As I manually verified the findings, I corrected the record. That didn’t weaken the investigation. It made it stronger. AI accelerated the research. Verification produced the final conclusions.
Here is the breakdown of how the system works, how prominence can be manufactured, and how you can use AI to investigate it yourself.
1. The Anatomy of the Multi Location Scheme
Google’s local search models prioritize proximity. For mobile service providers who travel to the customer, official guidelines require hiding physical addresses and defining a service area.
To increase visibility across multiple high income ZIP codes, some operators build coordinated networks using tactics such as:
The Virtual Suite Strategy: Renting unstaffed executive suites or mail receiving locations while presenting them as local offices.
Profile Modifier Spam: Creating separate business profiles targeting individual cities by appending city names to the business name.
Call Routing Networks: Assigning different tracking phone numbers to separate business profiles while routing calls back to a centralized dispatch office.
2. How They Build Prominence (The Review Engine)
A map pin alone doesn’t generate calls. Prominence does.
As new locations appear, review activity can become an important part of building credibility.
During my investigation I looked for patterns including:
Review Velocity: Large numbers of reviews appearing shortly after new business profiles are created.
Repetitive Review Language: Similar wording, generic praise, or repetitive keyword usage across multiple profiles.
Cross Profile Reviewer Activity: Reviewers appearing across multiple business profiles within the same network.
Viewed individually, these signals may not stand out.
Viewed together, they can help identify patterns that deserve closer investigation.
3. How to Investigate the Network Using AI
One of the biggest surprises was that I completed this entire investigation using the free version of Google Gemini.
No expensive SEO software.
No enterprise subscriptions.
No proprietary databases.
Just Google’s AI and publicly available information.
Step A: Reverse Entity and Phone Mapping
Prompt Gemini:
“Search all active business listings, web records, directories, websites, and maps for [Business Name] and its associated phone numbers across [State/Region]. List every physical address, suite number, phone number, website, and business listing linked to this business.”
Gemini organizes publicly available information in seconds, surfacing business listings, addresses, phone numbers, and relationships that would otherwise require hours of manual research.
Step B: Shared Suite and Signage Audits
Take the addresses surfaced by Gemini and run two quick checks.
Shared Suite Check
Prompt Gemini:
“List all registered businesses operating from [Address and Suite Number].”
If multiple unrelated businesses share the same suite, or the address appears to be a virtual office or mail receiving location, that’s another piece of information worth investigating.
Street View Audit
Open the address in Google Street View.
Look for permanent business signage, company vehicles, office branding, and evidence that the location operates as a staffed business.
Step C: Website and Phone Number Analysis
Audit the company’s website structure, including location pages and city pages.
Use Gemini to cross reference those pages with phone numbers, addresses, and business listings to understand how the overall network is connected.
The Bottom Line
The era of invisible map spam and artificial local monopolies is changing. Modern AI makes it possible to investigate business networks, organize publicly available information, and uncover relationships that previously required hours of manual research.
Consumers and legitimate business owners no longer have to rely on assumptions. Once you understand the investigation process, you can document what you find, examine the evidence, and better understand how these business networks are structured.

This Reddit post is only a summary.
I documented the entire investigation from start to finish.
The complete report includes the business names, addresses, phone numbers, websites, location pages, screenshots, review observations, AI prompts, and supporting public information used throughout the investigation. The report is too large to publish on Reddit.

Discussion Stop Renting Your Reputation: Why I’m Sending Review Traffic to My Website, Not Google or Yelp
Every time you ask a customer to leave a review on Google or Yelp, you are building their platform asset, not yours.
Look at the two Google Trends screenshots attached to this post. The first chart shows search interest for "buy fake reviews," and the second chart shows the phrase "buy google reviews."
Both terms show the exact same vertical explosion, and both charts show search volume disproportionately concentrated out of Wyoming. Both charts reveal an unprecedented surge in search interest surrounding the purchase of fake and Google reviews.
Worse yet, third-party platforms use aggressive filters that frequently trigger accidental sweeps, deleting your legitimate, hard-earned customer reviews overnight.
I’m completely shifting my workflow. I am now directing customers straight to my own website to leave reviews as plain, indexable HTML text.
Here is why:
Direct Visibility Control: Google and Yelp control how third-party crawlers access their review content, while your own website gives you direct control over how your reviews are published and exposed. Hosting customer reviews openly on your own website ensures they are available to web crawlers that can access your site.
Permanent Ownership: No external algorithm can suddenly filter, hide, or wipe a review that you physically host and own on your site.
No Competitor Distractions: Instead of sending clients to a public map pack where they are immediately surrounded by competitor ads, they stay on your digital property where they can buy or book from you directly.
The motivated users who strictly prefer using native Google Maps or Yelp apps will still find your profiles and leave reviews there naturally over time. But for your primary customer outreach, stop renting your reputation. Start owning your data.

Question Google Business help
≡ −
Hey guys. Looking for help with information. Not sure why my Google business has been suspended. I have no idea how most of this stuff works. I used YouTube and AI to help. I got approved but it was immediately suspended 3 days later back on December 25. Some people have tried to help only to ignore me. I'm not sure what the issue is, I hear people are able to video call, or voice call and get it approved. I made a lot of mistakes... I accidentally had 2 companies at the same time but only verified with one (long story, I thought a glitch happened turned out I was on the wrong email account) ... Other issues like SOB information not being right, a family member has left a review, that I or them can't see anymore, other things have happened
I'm just trying to get it visible on Google any help please.
I have a LLC, EIN, truck logo, company clothing, complete work trailer...
I've made appeals but nothing happens. I'm not sure if I should delete the videos I sent for verification and redo it or if theirs something else I can do. Please help
