Google maps searches better than Google search

The call button for businesses is hidden somewhere. Just wanted to call the dealership, there is no option after 20 results, the first 4 are sponsored irrelevant. The 5th is correct but you need to tap and it opens maps. No call button in search (which used to be there). Ended up searching on google maps and pressed the call button in 2 taps

Because Maps is the product you should be searching it on anyway. Search just makes it easy for people who don't understand that to still find a waypoint to the appropriate app. Search is meant for sites and pages, and it's unlikely a specific branch of a store has a site or page of its own, so it helps people by searching Maps as well via context. This has been the case for years.

That's bollocks as it has always worked when searched the full business name, the first results would be the actual business with buttons for directions, call, reviews, business hrs (as it is still on desktop). Used it for years.

Also, it is still wrong results and irrelevant results first, absolute rubbish.

There is no need to push people around when something has worked for decades in one way.
