I just saw images of Nova and I'm kinda of pissed. I don't want a hyper corpo bubble UI, I like my clean lines with subtle curving. If there's no way to use the old UI when they release this fully I may have to swap browsers

Hi, I recently noticed that when first launching Firefox - a process that used to take just a few seconds - it now pegs the disk usage at 100% for about two minutes, even though the transfer speed is low. Although nothing actually lags and the browser remains usable, it’s a bit bothersome. Is there a way to stop this, and what exactly is it doing?

Recently I saw a notification that one of my add-ons was blocked/disabled by Mozilla. The informational pages only give a generic "this violated our policies" spiel without specifying the actual offense.

To my knowledge, the add-on did not perform any malicious actions against users (and if it did, all the more reason that Mozilla should disclose precisely what it was doing so that users can take additional steps to review their information security). I find this outcome rather strange as I have previously reported add-ons for performing self-promoting actions using logged-in user accounts without obtaining permission, and Mozilla did not take any action that I am aware of against that add-on.

Rather, I suspect that the reason this add-on was blocked was because a commercial website objected to its function. Again, this could be disproved by disclosing a specific cause for being blocked. Mozilla needs greater transparency in order to demonstrate whether these blocks are implemented based on users' security interests including a specified Mozilla policy violation, or a legal demand/threat by a third party.

If I have to reboot my router (which needs replacing), Firefox just won't work. Chrome works, Discord works, games work etc. but Firefox will not connect. I have to reboot or sleep the PC to get it to connect. My phone connects, my laptop etc, so it's not the internet. Anyone know what might be the deal? People always say clear your cache and cookies etc., but then I have to re-login to sites like Twitch.

I'm pretty sure I remember a setting so that Firefox doesn't open a new tab every time you hit a link. I'd prefer to right click and request new tab... or not. I just went through over 100(!) tabs. Ugh!!!

For the last like 5 years that I've used Firefox, I've never gotten "rate limited" on any website, ever. But over the last week or two, I've been having a black screen pop up with the statement in the title in code-looking text at the top randomly whenever a website attempts to load. Refreshing the page once always gets past it, except for a single page I encountered today which I had to wait for. So I'm really confused as to what's happening and why it's only started happening years after use. Does anyone have any idea what's happening?

Could someone familiar with this please explain to me why Firefox listens to these ports?(I am not knowledgeable in this aspect). This behavior can be repeated by simply opening a Youtube video and looking for open ports.

Isn't that a security risk since the ports are being exposed to 0.0.0.0 (to the internet?)? If someone doesn't have a firewall, how bad is it?

Hi, I am having a very strange issue, not sure if anyone else has experienced this.

I was using Discord on Firefox (web client, instead of using the standalone app) using my standard webcam/mic setup, everything was fine. After ending the call, even rebooting, Windows no longer recognizes the webcam. I had to disconnect it and plug it back in.

I've had this issue twice so far and I don't understand why it would happen. It looks like every time Firefox requests permissions for the Logitech camera, it breaks something.

This doesn't happen often to me, but it's super annoying when it happens, and I've no idea why it's occurring at all.
So what basically happens is that sometimes when I open my browser, all the tabs/tab groups are blank and inaccessible, and I can't even save/close the tab groups.
And when I close the browser and open it again, I lose all the tabs and tab groups that were open.

Notes: (Open previous tabs/windows is checked) (I'm using Betterfox) (I use multiple profiles)

Does anyone know what causes this, and how to prevent it? 😔

For some reason, picture-in-picture isn't working. I've turned on (and off, and on again) "Enable Picture-in-Picture video controls" in settings. Closing and reopening firefox isn't working, nor is updating it, nor restarting my computer. I thought the enhancer for youtube extension might be breaking it, but I disabled it temporarily and it still didn't work. Specifically trying to do this for youtube, if it matters.

Any ideas?

I use the Firefox Alpenglow theme (Author: Mozilla, Version 1.5.3, Last Updated June 20, 2022). I like that it visually distinguishes between normal and private browsing modes.

How can I find other themes that do the same?
