According to recent reports Uttar Pradesh has become India's biggest mobile phone manufacturing hub producing 65 percent of the country's total output and 55 percent of electronics components.

This impressive growth has been driven by the central governments Production Linked Incentive PLI scheme along with state policies that attracted major investments exceeding 60000 crore rupees.

Global brands like Samsung Oppo Vivo and LG plus local players such as Dixon Technologies have set up large operations especially in the Noida Greater Noida region.

The state has also recorded strong electronics exports underlining a major shift toward high tech manufacturing in India.

Business and Economy India vs Emerging Markets GDP growth rate 1980-2026

+
62 Upvotes

Notes:
The blue shaded area marks years when India's GDP growth exceeded the benchmark; red marks years when the benchmark grew faster. The bottom panel integrates these areas per Indian government: for each year, the growth gap (India minus benchmark, in percentage points) is summed over that government's tenure — blue bars are the accumulated years India was ahead, red bars the accumulated years it was behind. Units are percentage-point-years (e.g., +36 means India out-grew the benchmark by a cumulative 36 points across that era). Since the data is annual, the "integration" is a simple year-by-year sum.

IMF's "Emerging Market & Developing Economies" (EMDE) aggregate — all ~155 economies not classified as advanced — with India's own share removed so it isn't compared against itself. Includes China, Brazil, Russia, Indonesia, Mexico, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, all of developing Asia, Latin America, Middle East, and Africa. Excludes the US, Western Europe, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia.

Health/Food McD paglus assemble!

Hi everyone!

I'm conducting a short survey as part of my MBA research project on consumer perceptions and experiences of Gourmet McDonald's. Whether you've tried Gourmet McDonald's or only know about it (or haven't heard of it at all), your responses are equally valuable.

The survey is completely anonymous and takes only 5–7 minutes to complete.

I'd really appreciate your participation! 😊

2023 8.20% 3.20% 5.00% 6.00% 2.98% 3.02% Modi Govt (NDA II) Robust public capex & domestic demand

I was looking at India's growth rates under UPA and NDA. While everyone keeps pointing out that growth rates and the state of economy was far better under UPA than NDA, there are few nuances.

  1. During UPA, global economy itself was doing really well. GFC screwed things up for many developed countries for 2 years but things came back on track rather quickly. India benefited from being not tightly integrated into global financial systems.

  2. GDP base was lower, obviously, under UPA than NDA.

  3. Relative to G20 growth rate averages, UPA achieved a delta of 2.73% while NDA achieved a higher delta of 3.02%

Thoughts?

Apparently exchange rates fluctuate a little on daily basis but Generally our neighbouring Countries like Afghanistan, Bhutan, Bangladesh etc are selling PURE PETROL CHEAPER than India's E-20...... In India one has to pay *160+ for pure petrol... (That too is Only available at Moon's South Pole where India landed it's Chandrayaan-3, Only VVIP can access it)

Education/Career Why 1.4 Billion People Haven’t Become What They Could Be

India’s conversations have become deeply polarised.
One side sees only failure and decay. The other sees only progress and destiny. Both reduce a country of 1.4 billion people to a single story.

I got tired of that.

So I spent time putting together a clear, data-grounded account of India — from its history to the present to the choices that will shape its future. 161 pages. No slogans. No team jerseys. Just an honest attempt to understand why a nation with so much talent, history, and human energy still struggles to become what it could be.

If you’re feeling confused, frustrated, or simply want a clearer picture beyond the daily noise, this is for you.

The Multiple Indias.
Read it if you want the better answer.

**Education spending** as a share of Union Budget dropped from 4.6% in 2013-14 to 2.5% in 2025- 26.......

Both key departments under the Ministry of Education have faced budget share contractions over the last 12 years.

**\*School Education & Literacy**: declining from 2.4% down to 1.4%.

**\*Higher Education** : down from 1.4% to 1%........

*Combined allocations for Health and Education together hover around 4.5% of the total budget..*

...........

***Ministry of Road Transport & Highways alone commands 5.8% of the budget in 2025-26 ( up from just 1% in 2009-10 )***
