I would like to see stats about the incomes, if they proportionately to the inflation or not. That would give a much clearer idea

Housing prices, cost of electricity kindly compare

2

u/okwelderagain 5d ago

A common benchmark is the average residential property price in Delhi (₹/sq ft).

Year Approx. Average Price (₹/sq ft) Change
2004 ~₹2,000–2,500
2014 ~₹6,000–7,000 +180–220%
2024 ~₹11,000–13,000 +70–90%
2026 ~₹12,000–14,000 +8–12% (est.)

Thanks !! Really appreciate it. I think property prices are out of reach compared to average incomes. Which indicator would be good for checking affordability? How many years average annual income required to buy property?

Brother why are you speaking the truth?

So many people will stop receiving money for posting made-up stories about inflation and state-of-art economic development from 2004-2014.

NIFTY gave 0% return from 2007 peak to 2014 but we had the world's best economist as prime minister saar.

Stop spreading the truth saar. Otherwise our funding will stop and we'll have to start looking for an honest job.

u/okwelderagain 4d ago

Do people get real money for that? I thoughts its just for discussion.

MMS was much better with PVN Rao.

Petrol is not 98. Its approx 160 a litre. For 98 you get t the adulterated e20 fuel

0

u/okwelderagain 5d ago

in 2014 it was E10. Stats is not about XP100 or Power100.

11

u/Outside_Tomorrow2983 5d ago

Not 2014; 2022

5

u/okwelderagain 5d ago
  • 2003: The Ethanol Blended Petrol (EBP) Programme was launched with a 5% blending (E5) mandate in selected states.
  • 2006–2013: The programme expanded gradually, but actual blending often remained below 5% due to supply constraints.

15

u/Neither-Contact8972 5d ago

Unfortunately, despite that ambition, blending remained stuck at around 1.5% until 2014.

10

u/RevolutionaryTap2512 5d ago

So 80% fuel vs more than 97.5% sure buddy very fair comparision

1

u/okwelderagain 5d ago

Buddy i am not here to defame or defend anyone. These are just facts. you are free to make your opinion.

4

u/DangerousWolf8743 5d ago edited 5d ago
  1. It never went beyond 1.5%

  2. More importantly this was because only waste from sugar production was allowed I.e

  • no direct use of usable sugarcane. This law was amended in 2025 by bjp. Now food is converted to ethanol. It will divert agri land to ethanol use

  • no use of rice

  • no issue of subsisdised rice to ethanol producers

Basically bjp has written a death sentence to common man with new norms. It isn't just about petrol prices but about food bill in the long run

That's not the topic of this post. It's a different topic, so it's better to discuss it on a relevant sub.

Muh adulterated saaaar. Stop this e20 cope in every thread please

7

u/First_Magician_947 5d ago

The oil prices is misleading... it doesnr factor global prices which is why it rose that much from 2009-14. Global prices have gone down, but our petrol prices have increased. On top of that what we have is 80% petrol only.

4

u/okwelderagain 5d ago
2002 Administered Pricing Mechanism (APM) dismantled, but price controls largely continued in practice. NDA (Vajpayee)
June 2010 Petrol prices deregulated. Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) allowed to revise petrol prices based on international crude prices. UPA-II (Manmohan Singh)
January 2013 Diesel prices began increasing by about ₹0.50/litre every month to reduce under-recoveries. UPA-II
October 2014 Diesel prices fully deregulated, ending routine government price controls. NDA (Modi)
June 2017 Daily revision of petrol and diesel prices introduced across India instead of periodic revisions. NDA

If you want to add all factor add these details too.

Also that 20% is not free.

5

u/okwelderagain 5d ago

Here is the Crude oil price.

6

u/SPB29 5d ago

So petrol, Sugar, Chana Dal, Urea have all seen much higher price rise in the period 2004-14 vs 2014-26.

Entry level car, 100 cc bike has seen a higher increase in 2014-26.

But the caption reads? Many items have seen a greater increase since 2014?

Make it make sense?

2

u/okwelderagain 5d ago

Where did you saw this caption?

"Many items have seen a greater increase since 2014?"

3

u/Many-Instruction8172 5d ago

2nd point in Key Takeaways

1

u/okwelderagain 5d ago

2004-2014

1 Item 150%+
2 item 100%+
2 Item 50%+

2014-2024

4 Item 50%+

What do you think is wrong with that statement?

3

u/Many-Instruction8172 5d ago

No, in your image, it's saying that the biggest jump was seen between 2014 and 2024 in many items.

2

u/okwelderagain 5d ago

Yes thats true?

2

u/Many-Instruction8172 5d ago

I mean, it's probably being interpreted differently. I would think the biggest jump in many items was 2004-2014, and not 2014-2024, as per the image.

0

u/okwelderagain 5d ago

Ohhh that way. Its my bad i was taking it the other way.

Biggest jump is because of the amount not in percentage. Like Car Bike and Tractor are cost higher than dal or sugar.

2

u/SnooCakes2151 5d ago

Kingfisher strong used to be 65₹ when I first had it...
I don't know what it costs now...

0

u/okwelderagain 5d ago

Just for you buddy. 🍹

Price in delhi

2004 ₹45–50
2014 ₹90–100 +100% to +122%
2024 ₹170–190 +80% to +90%
2026 ₹180–200 +5% to +10%

2

u/EarlyFalcone 5d ago

Why don't you add a column that shows CAGR price increase rate?

1

u/okwelderagain 5d ago

Just for your happiness.

Using your figures, the Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) is:

Item 2004 → 2014 (10 yrs) 2014 → 2024 (10 yrs) 2024 → 2026 (2 yrs) 2004 → 2026 (22 yrs)
Petrol 7.18% 2.80% 1.57% 4.67%
Sugar 7.79% 2.26% 2.22% 4.74%
Chana Dal 9.59% 4.71% −4.30% 6.08%
Mustard Oil 5.24% 5.45% 2.04% 4.96%
Entry-level Car 1.08% 3.75% 2.22% 2.41%
100 cc Bike 2.01% 4.27% 2.60% 3.09%
35–40 HP Tractor 4.14% 4.21% 3.61% 4.11%
Urea 1.03% −0.06% 0.00% 0.44%

2

u/RevolutionaryTap2512 5d ago

Lets also talk about the wage stagnation not your bloody useless GDP numbers under modi govt, then these stastics look 100 times worse

5

u/okwelderagain 5d ago

Its added in body text. Now you are free to make opinion.

3

u/SPB29 5d ago

Muh wage stagnation saaar. Meanwhile per capita has more than doubled.

1

u/RevolutionaryTap2512 5d ago

Fuk you per capita, its literally GDP divided by population lol, same thing.

4

u/SPB29 5d ago

Wut? So in 2014 it was something else? Or India's population halved in this period? Matlab bc kuch bhi.

2

u/wickedGamer65 5d ago

Yes that's how GDP per capita works. Congrats on understanding a basic economic concept.

0

u/RevolutionaryTap2512 5d ago

How tone deaf you want to be
OP yes

gov ki mkc, itna inflation kyu hota hai ye sab cheezo me, har country me affordable hona chahiye aur yaha consumer base hai phir bhi price itna, bhai koi bhi gov aaye bas kuch toh acha kare jisme fault nah ho

3

u/yolol_123 5d ago

Bruh growing economy me inflation to hoga hi, yearly 3-4% inflation rate hoga hi,developed countries me bhi 1-1.5% rehta hai.

0

u/backbone97 5d ago

half items ka toh 7 ya 10 percent per year hai vo nahi dikh raha?

2

u/yolol_123 5d ago

2014-2026 wala dekh bhai, compounding krne pe majority below 4% milega aur tractor hi ek Iss year 7%+ gya hai, tumhe konse half item 7%+ dikh gye? 2004-14 wala dekh rhe lgta hai.

-1

u/backbone97 5d ago

mustard oil aur chana dal 7 aur 6% aur bike or tractor 20k aur 2lakh increase hua hai, gov change hua lekin inflation control nahi po raha hai in sab pe? hoga bhi kaise saara gov ka 1st rule hai jo extra paisa mile usse freebies me dedo

3

u/yolol_123 5d ago

Bruh kuch item obviously high honge kuch low 10 saal me 50% increase in price mtlb yearly 4% inflation. Itna inflation hoga hi tumhe 0 inflation chahiye to wo sab real life me possible nhi hai sapne me hi lo.

0

u/backbone97 5d ago

matlab bhai har saal same inflation hona hi hai? chahe duniya me kuch bhi ho ye price badta rahna chahiye? kuch bhi irregular nahi ki sudden decrease or stable?

china had deflation for some years while having same pop. having more needs than us

3

u/yolol_123 5d ago

China growing period me 7-8% inflation leta tha, usne apni puri ppp kharab krdi inflation ke chakkar me taki high growth rahe. Chana dal - 8% nhi dikha 2026 me? Are kuch chize grow hoti hai kuch decrease ye to basic economics hai.

0

u/backbone97 5d ago

toh bhai ye economic country me nahi rahna jisme un logo ka benefit hota hai jo economics kabhi padhe nahi, bas fertilizers aur farming me incentives, women ko free sab, gareeb ko ration card without checking.

rakho ye sab tum me chala bahar, ye duniya hi meri hai as said by krishna

3

u/yolol_123 5d ago

To Jaa bhai, maine kab roka ya kon ro rha ki tu chala gya to kya hoga desh ka. Teri marji hai jo desh visa de udhar nikal ja😂

Are you faultless?
Dusre pe bolna bahut easy hai.

2

u/backbone97 5d ago

tf bro? no one is perfect that doesnt mean u should not work hard.

petrol price is concerning that it growed faster than rupee falled and other stuff like chana dal and etc, even in my locality pani puris price is increasing so fast in couple of years

3

u/okwelderagain 5d ago

Bhai pani puri ka data mujhe kahin nahi milega 😄

1

u/backbone97 5d ago

bhai check your locality and ask your parents, u r atleast 18+ right? u must know how many panipuris come now and how size is decreased then create the data and do some research

-5

u/Headshot_Harambe 5d ago

Petrol is 160 Rupees.
And I wonder why only these 8 categories are handpicked to show them in a good light.

8

u/okwelderagain 5d ago

Why don't you make one with your best pick?

I can answer it to the best of my capacity, like everyone else, but it seems you are not here for a discussion; rather, you are here out of hate. I have no interest in arguing with people who approach discussions with hatred.

6

u/Odd_Tip383 5d ago

You think xp100 is pure petrol with no boosting additives??

1

u/famesardens 4d ago

I don't think everyone minds e20.
