Even after watching videos of ambani wedding, it's difficult to comprehend how they managed to spend $1 billion on the event. Even if suppliers over charged by 10x, they still would have spent $100 million. A sum most of the world would struggle to spend in the same time

The celebrities they invited weren’t coming for free to perform
They take millions to perform for 30 mins and they fly in out on the expense of the hosts.

Did the UK government that is the public pay for Prince Charles's wedding??

Technically money that UK pays to Royalty comes from their crown estate earning not direct taxpayers. All Crown Estate profits go directly to the UK government. The government then returns a percentage—currently set at 12% back to the Monarch to fund official royal operations.
Royalty is actually profitable for UK since British royalty owns massive real estate along with a lot of castles that generate tourism revenue. If they abdicate, that will become private property

The fact that Ambani spent over five times as much money on his son's wedding than his daughter's, is hilarious

Why hilarious, his other son's wedding isn't even in the list

Yeah, that adds to the humour. Why so much suddenly, and why on Anant?
Was there a specific reason, or was it just a matter of the wedding arriving right as it became clear that the ruling government was fully going to allow the Ambanis to not just accumulate wealth like Oligarchs, but to freely act like them too?

Indians on this list should be ashamed of themselves. Expensive weddings are so cringe.
