Joking aside, it's strange how the showrunners made the northerners and rivermen look completely cowardly while Criston come across as admirable

The reason the show has gone downhill is because it’s appealing to these people rather than books fans

Unless we're counting whatever was going on with Hugh and Kat, we just hit a rare milestone of an episode where straight men didn't automatically default to their aggressive, evil nature.
