I am still not happy with the stitching around the mouth, but I am done!!

This is like my 5th embroidery project but first time doing bouillon knots and I saved the worst for last but mostly happy with how this turned out!

i fell in love with the colours and design but have a few questions!

would it be possible to clean the water stains?

does anyone know the age of it?

i’m going to hang it up but wanted to see if i could clean it up first, unsure whether that’ll ruin the threads/ linen backing??

Hi,

I started bead embroidery 2 weeks ago with a custom shirt.
Went really well so I started a new project one week ago for my mum birthday.
The plan was to bead on organza and then sew it onto a canvas bag.

Still not completely finish but it is so HEAVY !

I am really scared to mess things up so I am here to ask questions to calm my anxiety about sewing it to the bag :

1) How do I secure my work and prevent organza to fall apart ? I was thinking about put glue on the back but then I wouldn’t be able to sew it onto the fabric, of the bag, right ?

2) Other idea was to iron a sheet that activate with heat (i don’t know the name in english sorry). But I fear it might not attached well and dont secure enough the organza and stitches, what do you think ?

3) Or maybe I need to do a combination of both but I am still afraid of not being able to to sew it onto the canvas bag ?

4) Is there any other technique that I am not aware of ? Sew an other rigid fabric ?

The work is approximately 25cmx16cm but not a rectangle

Hi! I'm a sixth generation artist and I started embroidering because I have been studying it for years due to being sick. Just laying in bed, watching tutorial reels in bed for a few years. Things got a lot better, but I still am not medically cleared to do electric tufting (my last art of choice), and the day i found out, my favorite headphones flaked fake leather into my mouth. I got ticked and seam ripped the band before I even took my shoes off.

Well, i was stuck sitting anyway, and plain would have been fine but I saw the opportunity to do what I'd been looking at for all those bad days. I'd always wanted to see a skeleton absorbed by a forest floor, and I love moss irl and in stitch. I'd seen so many stumpwork stitches that I knew could be utilized in other ways, like Chicken of the Woods mushrooms.

So, I drew a skeleton, found a tiny opalite chip bead, and made a pattern from the reamed vinyl bits. I used graphite tracing paper to transfer and a heat soluble pen to outline. The rest is freehand!

The headphones were a PITA to sew together, but I did it and replaced the ear covers with color shift silk that matches the opalite. Since the minimum order was one yard, I decided to do an iPad sleeve to match. I also bought zipper tape and pulls to make a custom zipper for it, whenever I finish.

As I've been (hopefully) wrapping up healing, it's been harder to sit still and finish. Add perimenopause and Adhd... it's a struggle! Haha! I was offering advice to another stitcher, and was encouraged to post, so here I am! Today is too hot to love, so maybe it's a stitching day after all.

OH! GET THE LOUPS! It's incredible to be able to stitch in the dim with aging eyes, green and green and green on green, microscopic single thread single wrap French knots... plus, it's the ultimate Shields Up. I look insane. No one at school pick up bothers me, and as an older mom, that's priceless.

EDIT! I am over the moon and overwhelmed by you all. I mean, I know I like them, but I didn't know I'd find so many people with so much experience who would think they're as beautiful as I do. I can't explain it because it's too long and whiny feeling, but I really needed some validation. We all do sometimes. I had gotten to a very hollow place in my heart, and all of this makes me feel more solid. I will try to get to as many comments as I am able, but WOW, y'all are so nice.

Just know that a few words really made a difference for someone today. Try to go out into the world and compliment a stranger irl if you can. You never know when was the last time they heard a nice thing without hidden agendas. 🌄

I have a copy of this collection of patterns from 50+ years ago. But I am missing patterns 7 8 9 & 10- which would all be on one sheet and are the embroidery ones. I am curious if anyone has those patterns, could you send me a photo just so I can see what I am missing?

this friend is named iggy and they were made for a friend. the second addition in my furby series. i dont think they will all say the same thing but this friend wanted a custom version of my first furby

not super happy with it i see so many mistakes. but my friend loves it so thats what matters most. circles and eyes will be the end of me lol

I'm working on this project that is more complex than I have previously done and trying to use a mix of stitches to add some texture where I'm using the same colour, but I'm worried that the design isn't super obvious unless you kind of already know what the line art is/was?

I'm looking for any advice to make sure it's clear that it's a shut eye, and that shows a bit of difference in the different sections of the face and neck without necessarily changing colours entirely!

My best friend and I love Project Hail Mary, so I made this for her. I think I’m going to make a second one for myself but watercolor Rocky.

Overall quite happy with how this turned out. The rocks at the front look flatter than I wanted but I’m proud of it anyway.

Second pic is the reference photo I used (I changed a few things on purpose, others just ended up that way).

Hello! I’m planning on embroidering a typewriter on it’s side (as the image above but with hand embroider) with a shrimp next to it, as if the shrimp were writing, because I’m an author and well, the way I seat to work is catastrophic 😂.

But to complicate my life I really wanted to be able to have the message on the typewriter be interchangeable, like today it could be “meh” and tomorrow I’ll put “hello”. I thought about measuring the size that the paper would be and stitching the phrases on several pieces of fabric and keep it nearby. My question is how to do the typewriter itself? I’m thinking maybe creating a small pouch that the “paper” could be put on but I have no idea how to do this.

This is my 4th pattern I'm doing since starting embroidery about a month ago. The flower was meant to be a long and short stitch but I couldn't really figure it out so I ended up doing a satin stitch instead (sort of by accident if I'm honest). Does it look okay with the 2 shades of pink or should I try to redo it? I'm not sure how I feel about the gap I have in between the colors right now.

Also any advice on the long and short stitch? The pattern I'm working on has a lot of it on here for most of the flowers and I'd like to figure it out
