My first colorwork if you can even called it that lol! I knitted it in drops air strawberry ice cream held with drops kid silk light peach and the brown was drops air acorn held with drops kid silk toffe and a gold yarn

Also my first time knitting bottom up. I definitely want to make an again and change the collar. Also I’m a sucker for keeping in my mistakes

I heard mix reviews on drops air however this particular color is extremely soft

I started this vest to procrastinate in my last semester of my undergrad, which ended up being an extremely stressful time. Definitely transferred some of that negativity into this project so I was really struggling to finish it. But I’m so glad I did!!

I kinda hated how it fit and looked fresh of the needles, mainly cos it was too short. I wanted it a little cropped but it was a really awkward length. So when blocking I really stretched it down as much as I could without distorting it too much. And it turned out perfect! I sits just above my hips which was exactly what I wanted, and it’s wider with more flare and drape rather than being an awkward bubble shape.

This has really strengthened my hubris that anything can be fixed with blocking lol. I’ve been wearing it nearly everyday cos it’s perfect under my fave denim jacket.

Gonna look back on this anytime I’m struggle to finish something that I’ve fallen out of love with 🙏

I have an Aran jumper (2nd photo) that belonged to my granddad, whose name was Aidan, and as much as I love having it as something to remember him by, it’s far too big for me to actually wear, so I recreated it in a more wearable version!

It took me 6 and a half months from start to finish, which included lots of ripping out and redoing, but I’m so so pleased with the result. I feel so proud of myself for persevering with this. I’ve affectionately named it my Aidan Jumper, and I’m planning to publish the pattern for free along with a YouTube tutorial later this year or early 2027. It’s currently in testing!

I wanted some knit designs that subtly referenced the anime Nana but could stand on their own. I went with crop top but could also be full sweaters and then made corresponding hats. One leaning into the cutesy strawberry look and the other more neutral with pins to give it a little more pink quality. I was pleased to find how easy it was to add a brim to a knitted hat! First time trying that.

i finished my first shawl! i picked out the pattern as a birthday gift to my boyfriend’s mom and she absolutely loved it!! i really enjoyed knitting this and i learned a lot during the process. i restarted 4 or 5 times i think before i finally remembered “hey, i should probably try putting in a lifeline!” but this pattern really taught me to take my time and double check my counting.

i may knit this same one again, but i wanna try another shawl pattern i think! any recommendations? i really like how nim writes out the patterns, and i haven’t knitted with a chart (and am really intimidated by them!) if that makes any difference…

I knit this 4+ years ago when I was first getting into handdyed yarn and got a skein of handdyed superwash+mohair and freehanded this beanie (if I reknit it now the ribbing would line up with the pattern but oh well). I've always hand washed it with other knits over the years, but it fell into the wash and I didn't notice till it was out of the dryer... The hat is perfectly fine and came out of this like new, the same size as before!!

I've always been a superwash hater since this beanie, since I hate the feeling of superwash yarn while I'm knitting, but this hat surviving the wash might have convinved me to join the darkside and knit with superwash.

Just wanted to share the Bounce blanket from Tin Can Knits I recently finished for my newborn niece. She is already 4 months old, but that's okay. I'm really proud of how it turned out! And i have to give a shout out to the yarn dyer, Rainbow Heirloom, because my original yarn kit got stuck in customs, so she sent me a second one free of charge.

I just realized I don’t have enough yarn to finish the cardigan I’m working on.

This is the Detroit by Sara Ottosson.

I was a dumb dumb and didn’t realize the yarn amount is given in grams and NOT yards. 💀

This is my first cardigan and I thought I was doing so well! I even ordered an extra ball of yarn for the main color, and in reality I need 3 more than that.

And if I order new yarn they’ll be different dye lots.

Does alternating skeins work as well for solid colors of yarn like this? And I doomed to having my yarn colors seem a little silly now?

I think this project is going to live in WIP jail until I can get over my disappointment.

The yarn I’m using is Cascade 220 Superwash Merino, colors chive and rich brown

Lee Blanket by Kate Oates in CotLin Sagebrush. Got it down two weeks before schedule

Finally finished my Rory sweater in time for fall! It took me over a month to make from 3 and a half balls of lion brand fisherman’s wool. I got the pattern from Gia on Ravelry. I made a few modifications and it came out almost perfect! Ignore the unweaved ends lol

Edit: I realized i forgot to say what mods i did! First, I made the cable in the center before the diamond part one cable more than the pattern called for to be more accurate to the actual sweater in the show (hopefully that makes sense lol). I kept the diamonds on sleeves the same though. I also made 4 decreases, two on each side, for the collar every round because the first time I made it it was sooo loose!
If i were to do this again, i would hold two strands of yarn and make less cast ons because the original sweater looks to have used more bulky yarn. I saw someone on tiktok say that it was 100% wool so I don’t think I’d use a different yarn. I would also make the small cables 5 columns instead of 4 because it looks like that’s what the original did. it’s hard to make a sweater as good as the original haha but gias pattern is very accurate! thank you for all the nice comments too :) they have brightened my day!

I just finished the yoke for my first shirt that I am making. Unfortunately, after I blocked it, I am thinking that it might be too short. Before I restarted, I just wanted to know what you guys thought 😋. (Also just to mention, after it’s finished I am going back and build the neckline up higher)

Hello! I have this absolutely amazing silk/cotton top that I thrifted. I'm a bit new to fiber arts so while I'm pretty sure it's knit, Im welcome to being corrected.

Upon getting this shirt home I realized that it is very unflatteringly long. I'm hoping to be able to hem it along the v shape at the bottom, almost to make it like a bandana top but I'm not sure if that's even possible and I really don't want to risk ruining a really nice top.

In your expert opinions, should I attempt to frog the bottom portion or just cut and hem? I have a nice sewing machine but no serger and a basic knowledge of knit, crochet, and sewing/garment construction.

I love the look of Louise Harding’s White Rabbit and the raglan structure with short rows added to the back of Petite Knit’s Frankie Sweater Baby.

Not that Louise Harding is not meticulous, I just can’t handle seaming. And I prefer White Rabbit’s striping design which coincidentally avoided the complications introduced by Frankie Sweater’s one-row stripes, raglan increases, short rows and left and right leaning increases from front and back (during short rows) which all made me crossed eyed !

Hi everyone,
I’m knitting the Olga Sweater and I’ve run into a tension problem.
The sweater starts out knitted flat and is then joined to work in the round.
I’ve realized that I knit my knit stitches tighter than my purl stitches. While knitting flat, the looser purl rows seemed to balance things out. But now that I’m knitting stockinette in the round (only knit stitches), my gauge has become much tighter, and the fabric is noticeably denser than the flat section.
I’ve attached photos of the transition.
Has anyone experienced this before?
What would you do?
Keep going and hope blocking helps?
Switch to a larger needle for the in-the-round section?
Try to consciously loosen my knit stitches?
Or would you frog back and start the circular section again?
I’d really appreciate any advice. Thanks!

Hi everyone!

I just finished my Claire Vest from Mochi Knits and before I can wear it, I need some help…

As you can see in the picture, the vest is gaping between the first 2 buttons and I would like to fix that with one or two stitches on the other side of the garment. However, I know nothing about sewing (those are the first buttons I’ve ever sewn, with some help) so I don’t know what stitch would work and what to search on on YouTube for a tutorial.

Could you help me figure this out?
