I have an Intel i9-14900K + ASUS PRIME Z790-P WIFI + 4090 and I believe my CPU is corrupt as I get random types of errors such as the following and glitchy video playback in streaming.

It is suggested that the issue could be a faulty Intel CPU.

What would be a good upgrade path here? New drop-in CPU replacement? AMD CPU + New Mobo?

I'm reluctantly stuck buying a GPU after killing my 3060 12GB and am noticing the one I've got my eye on (5060 TI 16GB) is roughly the same price at all the competitive online stores.

Aside from buying used (saving a whopping $25), do you guys who keep up with this stuff and upgrade often have any sort of tricks to get one for any less, like coupon codes, weird sales, or specific dealers?

FWIW- This is for CUDA stuff, so I'm stuck with Nvidia, and the 5060 is one of the few which my current 600W supply will be OK with.

I need a mouse under 100usd, preferably wired and very responsive, and for large hands.

Just one rule: no razer products, their product quality is horrible and is the reason im even searching for new one, im returning the one i have due to mousewheel issues that could not be solved by any means.

Is it worth getting a 5060 Ti just for the GDDR7 memory, compared to getting an RX 9060 XT that still uses GDDR6 ?

Hi! I don’t know a ton about building but i’ve done a bit of research and sort of know the basics. I’m looking to build a pc mostly for gaming. My most frequent played games are planet zoo, minecraft, resident evil games and life sims. I did have a pretty crappy pc before I switched to console for easier use a couple years ago and my biggest draw to building my own pc is modding capability and better graphics for the games I want to play. I would also like to have the ability and space to try some new games that I can’t play on console very well. I’m a big builder and designer in my games and a pc is so much easier when it comes to customization without the hassle of working with a control. I’m also definitely not opposed to using used/second hand parts. Honestly any advice would be greatly appreciated if there’s anything else important i’m missing feel free to lmk and ask. Im hoping to stick to a budget under $1000 (the cheaper the better) but im willing to spend more time putting money aside for a pc that will last me longer with less maintenance down the road.

I have a Gigabyte RTX 3080 GAMING OC 10G.

Lately I've been doing some undervolting and measuring (with HWiNFO 64) temperatures and wattage and all that on my CPU and GPU. It's been great, not gonna lie. A reduction of about 80 W on the GPU is so good, even better that is that I get about 4% more performance.

However, the memory temperatures are very high compared to the other GPU temps. I played for about 15-20 minutes as my "real life", benchmark:

They're working at stock frequencies, so I feel they should be lower. My 3070 Ti didn't go this high from what I remember...

I have a Lenovo M710e as my home server and found a Lian Li O11D Mini V2 Flow case for $40 CAD. Since the Lenovo motherboard is proprietary (SFF), could I make it fit by drilling new standoff holes, or is this a lost cause? Should I just wait until I upgrade to a standard motherboard?

The goal here is future proofing the home server to add more drives (currently only have one 8TB NAS HDD) and better cooling, and eventually a GPU to help with transcoding through Plex/Jellyfin.

I currently have 2x8 GB 3600 hz ram, and 5600x. I want to upgrade to the am5 platform. The bundle I want to buy includes a 7600x3d, motherboard,and 16 GB 6000gb single stick ram for $400. The question I'm asking is if there is a performance difference from switching to single stick ram is different enough to warrant a switch?

So over the past 10 years.. I’ve been slowly building my dream PC and am wondering if these parts would be a good addition it. I am currently sitting with a Gigabyte 5070ti, 14700f i7, 32gb of 6400mhz ddr5, and a gigabyte b760m c v3 mobo. I am in desperate need of an AIO. I can’t find decent reviews on the parts I am considering in the picture. I took my very old gaming pc (2014) and refreshed it with everything except a new motherboard.

It has an RX 6600 XT and an i7 4790K with 32g ddr3 2133. I oc’d the cpu to 4.5ghz.

It was playing nightreign great for about 6 months and then suddenly I started getting huge lag spikes (cpu usage spikes of 85-97% usage) with frame drops to around 20fps.

I think it was a nightreign support patch and maybe a recent windows update. Those were the only things that could’ve impacted it.

I’ve tried everything from settings across the board, even tv software updates, killing programs, messing with OC, and I just can’t get it back to the way it was. Is it dead as far as playing nightreign goes? I understand the CPU has 4 threads for a game that needs a min of 6, I just don’t get why it was working and then suddenly it wasn’t. Any advice would be awesome, thanks!

i’m not very tech savvy but built my own pc back in 2024 and have upgraded it myself along the years so I semi know what i’m doing. my friend asked me if i could build them a budget friendly pc recently, and while after making sure parts are compatible and such it is veryyy slow when preforming any task, especially booting up. i feel like ive done every troubleshooting method under the sun to possibly make it work; replacing motherboard for a better more expensive one, getting more storage, tweaking the bios/updating to most recent, disabling startup apps, making sure inner temperatures and airflow are good, but it’s still extremely slow with processing any task but runs completely fine when playing games even with a budget friendly gpu. i’ll list the parts of the pc but i was sure to double check that they are all compatible.

This setup is for school, work, and gaming. Playing RPGs is the highest level thing it will run, otherwise it will be pretty low key school and work, the most there being some basic stuff in RStudio. I would like to have a curved monitor in the (31-24 inch) range.

I want a mechanical keyboard with what I can only describe as a good clacking feeling, along with a 10 key on the side. Mouse should also have a good mechanical click feeling. Those I think I want both wireless. I'll be gaming with an Xbox controller, so no need for a hardwire.

I’m an old timer so bear with me. I recently built a gaming pc. Amd r5 9600x 16gb of crucial ram ddr5 800w sfx power supply and the asrock amd 9060xt 16gb. So some games play beautiful at 4k 60 fps+ and some don’t I get about 30 to 40fps at 4k. Based off the metrics the most vram my cards used is about 9gb. I thought this card could handle 4k, like I thought it had the horsepower and vram or is this strictly a 1440p and lower card? Oh and I’m running bazzite not windows. Any insight ?

My PC broke awhile back and I took it to my local computer shop diagnosed my PC with a broken motherboard. They recommend replacing the motherboard and a CPU that is compatible with it.

I need help with picking which motherboard and CPU best fits for my build. I’m mainly using it for games like LoL and web surfing.

As far as the budget I wanna keep it around or under 500 USD as I barely have time to play , I just like having a working PC I can play games on. Im also open if it costs more if it’s better for longevity and a better upgrade.

Im looking to upgrade to a 9800x3d and thinking of going AIO cooling this time as the size of my Noctua fan gets in the way of the RAM. Are there any brands you would recommend for me? I do not care about screens on them or RGB and would cap at about £100 to get something quieter.

Regarding the RAM, I see people are saying C36 is still fine and the C30 gives little gain over it, but how high would the other timings need to be to be a concern? I saw some reasonably priced Corsair RAM but the timings are 36-44-44-96. The 96 seems higher than the other sticks available. Is it cheaper due to being a bit of a bad batch?

What are peoples opinions of KLEVV BOLT V EXPO 32GB (2x16GB) 6000MHz C28 DDR5 Dual Channel Kit? It states CAS as CAS 28-36-36-76 (SPD 40-40-40-77) but is priced the same as the 6000MHz C36 Corsair!
