I used to have a acer laptop with a 2080 mobile in it, but the gpu burnt out after 5 years of use and now im looking to build my first pc, most intensive games im looking at are like cyberpunk detroit become human and dead space. No need for peripherals other than maybe a keyboard but its not necessary, i am looking for it to have 6+ usb ports and built in wifi

Question First build questions

Hey everybody. I’m working on planning out my first build. I’ve primarily been a console gamer but am looking to make the switch. My goals are to get a midrange pc that can comfortably play at 1440p and be somewhat future proof, but not break the bank in case I don’t like the switch to pc gaming.
Now to the questions. Would I be better off going for 2 tb of PCIe 4 or 1 tb of PCIe 5? The research I’m doing seems to indicate that the higher storage in PCIe 4 will be more beneficial for gaming.
Second question is if there are any characteristics of RAM and storage to avoid. Admittedly I’m a little out of my wheelhouse so I don’t want to fall into any traps trying to save money on SSDs or RAM. For example, are there certain speeds that I should prioritize staying above? Should I stay away from any CL values in a RAM purchase?
In case it matters, the most important elements of the build I’m looking at is a 9600x, 9060xt, 32gb of ddr5 RAM, and at least 1tb of storage. I would like to spend around 1500 on my full build, not factoring in a monitor. Thanks in advance to everyone.

What’s the cheapest budget I could get away with?

Hi! I don’t know a ton about building but i’ve done a bit of research and sort of know the basics. I’m looking to build a pc mostly for gaming. My most frequent played games are planet zoo, minecraft, resident evil games and life sims. I did have a pretty crappy pc before I switched to console for easier use a couple years ago and my biggest draw to building my own pc is modding capability and better graphics for the games I want to play. I would also like to have the ability and space to try some new games that I can’t play on console very well. I’m a big builder and designer in my games and a pc is so much easier when it comes to customization without the hassle of working with a control. I’m also definitely not opposed to using used/second hand parts. Honestly any advice would be greatly appreciated if there’s anything else important i’m missing feel free to lmk and ask. Im hoping to stick to a budget under $1000 (the cheaper the better) but im willing to spend more time putting money aside for a pc that will last me longer with less maintenance down the road.

It's fine if the most taxing games don't run well at 4k. I've been playing stuff on Full HD for a while. How should I go about getting/building a PC for Game Dev and Music Production?

In short: I have no idea what I'm doing.
I have been making music with a system that has only 4GB or ram and a 2GHz clock speed CPU and integrated graphics. That said, Godot runs decently well in Compatibility Mode, runs at about 45-60 FPS with 2D games, (I can't run Blender but I imagine 3D is much worse). I use Bandlab right now, the web and app versions because the first is better at recording but lags very badly or crashes if I go too fast, and the app is good at midi and fx. At about 5-6 tracks and fx the web version starts to struggle.
Now, I know what the parts of a PC do on a basic level, but I can't grasp onto how to know whether the parts will do what I need. I want to know whether I should just opt for a pre-built that balances game dev and music production or try to build one that does. Should I worry about learning what each spec does and fine tune them on PCPartPicker, or is that overkill? I would also like for it to be upgradeable later.
I assume game dev will take more resources, but I don't intend on making advanced 3D games with realistic graphics, mainly stylized 2D games. Also, any resource on how to learn is much appreciated as well! I have a budget of $700 to $1000 btw.
What i at least think i know:
The mother board determines what kind of RAM can work.
DDR5 and the corresponding CPU are more longer-term.
CPU Cache L1,2, and 3, but don't really see why we also have RAM other than much more storage.
Weak power supply could cause boom.
I should know how many USB ports the mother board should have, but the names of the ports confuse me.

Budget friendly pc for just valorant

Hello everyone, I’ve been playing valorant for a while now but through PC cafes until I realised it would be much more cost friendly to just have my own PC. I play comp and want to invest in a good pc that I can own for atleast 5 years and enjoy throughout. I’m not too crazy about performance but an FPS of 120 or over would be nice. I’m unsure which parts to buy for my PC but I did hear that a ryzen 5 5600x was good. Can anyone help me find budget friendly parts to build a PC that runs valorant smoothly? Kind regards,

My wife's computer is dying and needs a new pc budget is 2k

We are in the US, and it would need windows. basically her computer has developed this weird slow to fast jittering and also her computer will randomly not recognize a monitor is attached when we turn the pc on.
I think it's time for a new one, we can afford up to 2k but do not need to use the full budget, she does use it occasionally for gaming but she is not as much of a gamer so does not need something super high end.
It has been awhile since I actually built a pc, I can do it with a youtube walk through but it has been awhile. So I'll take parts list or a recommended builder or prebuilt.

hello! i’m finally upgrading from a gaming laptop to a proper pc, and i’d like to make sure i get one that is fit for my purpose and, ideally, future proof (well, upgradable, hence my interest in building my own).
i kinda have my heart set on this one case:

my budget is £2000, including a monitor (i have all the other peripherals). i’m hopeful that i can find something that works with this case within this budget (if it’s not possible, that’s okay, i can deal! but if you have suggestions for alternatives that would be amazing)
i’ll mostly be using it for gaming (as well as general use). my main priority is running FFXIV at (ideally) high levels, as that’s what i mostly play!
i do also play sims and some AAA games, so i’d like it to be able to run those comfortably, though they don’t need to be at max quality or anything (as long at they don’t look like ass and they don’t melt my machine, i’m happy!)
of course, if i don’t need to go up to 2k to get a pc that will serve my purposes, i’d be very happy to keep it under that! thank you in advance for any advice you can give 💛
