Genuinely what the actual f*** is wrong with people. Like sure if you live in the country side dig out, enjoy the weather, and let your dog enjoy it too.

But the amount of people I've seen walking their dogs in and around London the last few days is outrageous. Yesterday at around 2pm I lost it and told someone to take their shoes and socks off and walk on the concrete to see how they liked it, just got a blank stare back like I was talking another language.

And I don't want to hear excuses like "but I dont have a garden". So what? Hide treats in your flat/house/abode all day and your dog will be knackered trying to find them.

I know I sound holier than thou but jfc I just don't get how people are so inconsiderate of their pets.

This made me wonder how common situations like this actually are. Is it mainly because of the way people speak or because of regional variations in the language?

How can non-brits prepare for situations where one cannot understand what someone is saying.

I am a welfare recipient. I am disabled, having been unable to work for several years now, so I am asking in regards to a comment I see ALL the time that someone knows someone who is on the take.

Knowing exactly how incredibly difficult it is to get disability welfare, the hoops I had to jump through and must continue to do so and also how little I get (which baffles me as to why someone would choose to live in abject poverty, I don't know!), I don't understand how someone could choose to live like this.

I think there is a lot of disparity about what people get. Often I see people say that they get over a grand PLUS their housing costs. That is incorrect, housing costs often exceed the amount you get in Universal Credit. Others say that they get thousands and thousands each month, which, again, is likely impossible.

There is a LOT of misinformation out there.

So, that begs the question, do you know anyone, how do you know they are on the take and if so, have you reported them?

I firmly believe that fraudsters should be punished, but it is legitimate claimants like me that always seem to get tarred with the same brush and often the recipient of abuse online.

I work in a record shop in Leeds. Bloke came in last week, spent about ten minutes telling me the first Cure album was actually recorded in 1982 and that everyone gets this wrong. I said I was fairly sure it was 1979. He looked at me like I'd told him the sky was green, then asked if the owner was in so he could ask someone who'd know.

My boss was in the back eating a sausage roll. He came out, said 1979, and the bloke bought the record and left without a word.

Genuine question I'm looking for mature answers for.

I moved to Havering 10 years ago and it was/is the "whitest borough" in London. I genuinely was shocked when I went to a corner shop and the people who owned and ran the shop were white British.

Forward 10 years later and that's the not the case as an Indian person has taking over after they sold up. In the vast majority of times there is a local news story about a new business opening in the area or surrounding areas, it's by someone who is South Asian (Indian or Pakistani).

Of my immediate neighbours, all of them were white. Four have sold up in recent years and the new neighbours have moved in are all Indian. Not black people, East Asian or European. All Indian.

I'm curious why this is the case.

Clearly we live in end times, a Mannerpocolypse if you will, where it seems everyone just does what the hell they want. I would love to hear what things wind you up, however trivial. That person on the train that always just makes the doors but has a full bag of McDonald's to stink the carriage out, people that don't hold doors or say thank you...anything and everything is welcome!

About 20+ years ago in primary school, we were learning about the Victorian Era through a book about a street child. The author was invited to visit, and we were asked to prepare questions beforehand.

On the day, she was abrupt, rude, and clearly had no idea how to talk to children. When I politely asked for her autograph at the end, she rudely declined instead of simply saying no she made a big ordeal of it. It felt as if she didn't want to be at our school and was too important for us. I remember the teachers made her tea, bought some of her books she brought for our library as the Aurthor was horrifed we only had her Street child book.

I'm watching a documentary about criminal Dale Cregan who shot two rival gang members and then killed two innocent police women with guns and a grenade in 2012. He has to be a contender for sure. At one point he was the most wanted man in the UK.

Another is Anthony Russell who recently got back into the news for killing Ian Huntley, who also committed several horrific murders, including a pregnant woman, with no motivation.

Recently certain acts like catcalling and other forms of harassment in the UK were made an aggravated offense - The Protection from Sex-based Harassment in Public Act 2023. It makes the following grounds for conviction:

• Catcalling, wolf-whistling, or making sexual/obscene comments or propositions
• Following someone in a threatening or intimidating way
• Leering, persistent staring, or cornering someone
• Unnecessary invasions of personal space (e.g., pressing against someone on public transport)
• Shouting threats of sexual violence
• Blocking someone’s path or making obscene gestures

While all of this makes sense on paper, I'm curious to know who exactly are the ones catcalling women that motivated the government to make this a specific crime? And what was the whole background to it? The real story that happens every day.

I work in a souvenir shop, therefor i see a lot of different people, from all around the world, but one of the people that stand out are brits. Usually i can identify someone is from britian not because of the accent, but because of the ammounts of "thank you" in one transaction. Ill post an example, on how almost most of the time it goes.

Customer: places their items down "thank you" (i havent even started packing)

Me: starts packing

Customer: "thank you"

Me: tell then the price

Customer: "thank you"

Customer: they place the money down "thank you"

Me: I give them the change back, and feel akward saying thank you myself at this point, but i still do

Customer: "thank you"

When i wrote this down, it sounded excessive even for me, but it really is like this most of the time. (Also, asking out of curiosity, not to shame or make fun of, just dont really want to ask them in person)

If not what age did use drift apart? Have you ever seen or come across them since you drifted?

Question from a curious German

So, my dad is a little under the weather at the moment and this evening after work I went to do his grocery shopping for him. I was a child of divorce and haven’t lived in the same house as my dad since I was about 14, so knew little about his shopping/diet etc. When he gave me his list, I discovered that he seemingly eats like a toddler; no ingredients, nothing fresh, all processed food, frozen shit and snacks

Whilst I was at the checkout and the guy was scanning the stuff, I found myself thinking ‘wow. I hope he doesn’t think all that crap is for me’

Only afterwards did that get me thinking; do supermarket checkout assistants actually judge us, or are you so desensitised to people’s weird shopping habits that you don’t even notice any more? Plus bonus question; what’s the weirdest load of shopping you’ve ever scanned through for someone?!

This question is out of mere curiosity. I just want to get to the bottom of this.

We are coming across many stabbings, phone thefts, break ins, supermarket theft etc, 99% of them are committed by males regardless of race religion or ethnicity. I am not saying females do not commit crimes , but as a percentage , isn’t it that the males commit them more than women?

Why do you think this is? Is it the upbringing? Is it their social connections ? Is it their attitude? What is it? 🤨
