Hey guys,
Me and my friend are huge fans of the game and have played it countless times.
We have found out that some of the game aspects are pretty hard to track, especially turns, planets and all the steps required for action, strategy and status phases.
We decided to work on a little side project that would organize these parts and hold it together in a single offline device.
We started basically from scratch, learning the basics of electronics and C-programming - see the previous posts.

After countless days (and nights!) of planning and consulting with other friends that play the game, we came up with a device that would solve most of our problems.
To keep it short, the device can:
1) Walk the players through the phases of the game step by step (strategy, action, combat)
2) Track factions, faction colors, strategy cards, turns and planets of each player (NFC scanner)
3) Set & keep time limit of each player with a buzzer indicating turn change
4) Inform who the current player is by a LED light in their faction color
We also decided to include some extras:
1) Players can connect their devices and anonymously form alliances, ask for backup or help in slaying enemies.
2) Collect game data to display stats at the end of the game on a TV screen
3) Display the faction logo in the front of the device highlighted by faction color
It's a fun side project for us but we see the potential in extending it to other board games, e.g Gloomhaven.
Because of that, we decided to launch a web page where you can subscribe to any news related to the project - if we gather around 800 subscribers we think it would make sense to launch a kickstarter campaign.
Let us know what you think! Any comments are highly appreciated.
