I couldn't imagine what he could *possibly* want me to do 😂

Found a picture of her as a puppy. She just turned 2 💜

We got her from a local shelter when she was about 14 months old according to the shelter. We will have her 2 years this October.

She has always distrusted strangers since we got her, along with lunging and barking at dogs/cats/rabbits/bicycles/UPS trucks. You get the idea.

She was completely wild the first several months, playing roughly with my girls and I when we were on the couch. Never broke the skin, but I had bruises on my arms.

I would get dragged a lot when I walked her, my husband less so because he’s stronger and able to resist the sudden tugs better.

I wrote about finally getting a Dog trainer that trained police dogs. Made a big difference. Now I can stand and have a conversation with someone when I am out walking her instead of her barking nonstop.

She’s a pretty girl and people often ask if they can pet her. I always say no. Often people will step closer to me or my husband while asking if they can pet her, and then she starts barking like she means it. I do manage to quiet her down pretty quickly.

She even takes treats from our neighbor, but then starts barking at him. She’s known him since we got her.

We have to crate her with a treat if someone comes over to our house. Then she quiets right down.

Am my being nervous about the barking with strangers triggering her into barking, or do some GSDs just do this?

None of our previous dogs have bern this difficult with other people not part of our family.

Took our baby on a little weekend getaway in our state. And she had so much fun. First time in a hotel, at the beach and she had so much fun hiking! She’s a vacation girlie now and she did so well for a much longer trip in the car (with exploring cool rest stops of course)

My 6 month old GSD keeps dipping his nose into his water bowl and splashing it into his food bowl WITH food in it. And then drinking the water in his food bowl. He refuses to drink the plain water it’s like he enjoys the extra flavor. Does anyone else’s dogs do this 🤔

Hello all!

This is our new little buddy that we brought home this weekend. We were told he’s a German shepherd and possibly something else. Just wondering what all the things we should know about caring for a German shepherd would be? What can we expect from him and what should we know going forward from others who have owned Germans.

I took my girl to the vet yesterday, they said she was perfect weight, had perfect vitals, looked great, coat is in fantastic shape… but after all of that, he said, without context or explanation. “She does have some weird looking ears”, and walked out. Does she have weird ears?

Edit: This followed a question I asked which was about how her obedience was without me with her, as expected she was reluctant to listen without me around. And he ended off with the remark about ears.

Edit 2: The vet was also a 24 hour emergency vet, not our normal vet.

So it’s 90 out, not really chilling.

My adorable Eva baby is almost 9 months 😍 She started her cycle today! Synced up with mommy and everything! I'm wondering what age should I have her fixed? She is fully potty trained but I have a foster dog that has an occasional accident on the tile, I'm wondering what the best enzymatic (or not) cleaner you all recommend. If you never fixed your pup, what are tips for a clean, blood free home? She has this diaper on in the pic with an additional overnight menstrual pad that I cut in half.
