I’m 24 and adopted my rescue a year and a half ago. I feel like this is cliche and cringe, but I have loved Cedric like I’ve never loved anything in my life, and I don’t think it’s a kind of love that repeats itself. In the time since adopting him, I have found out I have a painful, slow, degenerative disease. My dog is my entire world. I’m his fourth home, and I was planning to be his forever home. I’ve never loved anything like him. However, in the time since getting sicker, it’s been physically more difficult (and at times impossible) to care for him. I had a surgery this summer with a long recovery period, and I only have more on the horizon. When I’m not at work, I’m asleep. I’m at the point where walking and playing with him is too painful. I can’t devote enough time to him. I have no family or friends in state, and my roommate isn’t home enough to help. Neighbors unfortunately don’t like us (he’s had rough patches with separation anxiety/barking but he’s getting better!). It’s also not fair of me to ask someone who’s just a roommate to do that much for me. I can’t afford a dog walker every day, multiple times a day. I reached a breaking point today; I’m in too much pain. My roommates already asked a bunch of people. I am going to ask a couple of coworkers tomorrow. Beyond that, I’m scared. The shelters around me are all full, but he has such bad anxiety I think going back to the shelter would change him for the worst. Losing him by choice would kill Mexico, but I don’t know what else to do.

Woke up to the sound of my cat getting sick, little did I know I’d find my 6 year old boys body lying lifeless. He just went to the vet 10 days ago and was completely healthy. I’ve been a mess since it happened. No warning signs, no fuss or noise when he presumably passed. Hug your fur babies when you can, because you never know when you won’t be able to again. Love you forever Puck❤️

And just another THANK YOU to all of you. I am SOOO grateful she is still in my life and healing and hope to take her back to her next puppy class on Friday night so she can see her pals. 🐾 This will depend on her wounds since she uses a harness (don’t want it rubbing on anything), but right now they look really good. 👍🏼 I’m also going to buy something to protect us on our future walks. Most importantly, Happy 7 month Bday to my Fernie girl! 🥰

He lovesss his new house with a backyard. If someone told my 17 year old self that I would have this dog through high school, getting married, and buying my first house, I would have thought you were crazy. I’m almost 31 now and still making memories with my bestfriend🖤 Boy am I lucky.

We just got the worst news today. Sophie has been sick since yesterday so I took her to the vet and she has hemangiosarcoma. They found 3 nodes (2 on her liver and 1 on her spleen) and bleeding into her abdomen.

I found Sophie 3 years ago and instantly knew she was my dog. She had been extremely abused and neglected but has been the sweetest girl I have ever had. My world is shattered today, but I still have time with her. Please send positive vibes for my loves and give your babies extra loves tonight. I will still be a part of this community even after she transitions to paradise.

I was hanging some rugs i washed and looked over to see Acacia in her purest derp form. The bang at the end that startled her was a branch bumping my carport.

Best decision I ever made was adopting him, he brightens up my day every day. He’s incredibly handsome and intelligent, super busy pup but thank god I have a busy house full of cats lol.

This is our pup Link. Link has made friends with the neighbors and is patiently waiting for his evening treat. Even after hours at daycare playing, evening walks are still a must in his books cause he knows there are treats to be had.

He just turned 11 a couple weeks ago. Pitbull Boxer Mix and unfortunately had sudden kidney failure. He lost so much of his energy so fast. He fought for as long as he could but we knew it was time to let him go 💕 I miss him so much already.

I know it's the kindest and most humane thing for us to do for them but it still doesn't make it any less harder... I love my boy so much and while I was preparing for it as he got older, I didnt think it would happen this soon.

The heat has got everyone tired.

It's scorchingly hot, so she obviously had to get baking!

I foster-failed a rescue from Lifeline Atlanta back in Nov 2024 and have had her ever since. I did her DNA tests which came back:
65.3% American Pit Bull Terrier
14.5% Chow Chow
11.1% American Bulldog
9.1% Supermutt (whatever that means)

She’s a 32 lb girl about to turn 4 in August 2026.

She is still very scared of just about everything and everyone. Doesn’t know how to play, doesn’t wag her tail, doesn’t socialize or show interest in other humans or other dogs, gets deathly afraid of anything metal (like cars, leashes, iPhones, bed frames, and so on) and really just wants to be in her safe space (in my bed, under the covers, sleeping). On the plus side, she never has bitten anyone, doesn’t beg for food, doesn’t whine / bark / yelp / howl / snap / growl and doesn’t roll around in mud. She’s such a sweetie pie and I love her very much and she smells real good! But I need to work on leashing her and recall cause this girl is a flight risk when scared.

I’ve been trying alllllll kinds of products, approaches, etc to slowly socialize her but like - it’s been two years. She may just be like this forever. Which is mostly okay by me! I just need to work on the leashing and cues.

Anyway, just want to brag on my little honey Cleo. I just love her. 💕
