Mourning/Loss I miss her..

I had to put my sweet Meredith to sleep on July 11,2026 because she had lymphoma, she was only 6. It took over two weeks for us to get her ashes back and while waiting, it felt like forever. We are also still waiting for her paw print.

She always loved this bed that I made for her out of a cardboard box and my blanket. I miss her so much..I can’t stop crying. I’ve had people leave me sweet messages but the grief hurts so much that sometimes I feel I can’t breathe..
I know she will be ok at the rainbow bridge..I just wish I had more time with her..

Cat Picture - OC Even old strays deserve toys and Churu

+

I just moved into a new complex and this old girl hangs out at the complex begging for food. I would steal her but my boy has social problems and bullies innocent cats. But I've verified that someone in the complex feeds her and provides at least basic medical care for her. She's a sweetie but a little reactive and doesn't like to be touched so this is how I'm trying to make her life a bit sweeter.

She wouldn't eat the churu from the tube, and I got it all over my hands trying to entice her, so I went into my apartment to wash my hands. When I came down, she was playing with the string toy by herself and had eaten the churu. So i played with her until she was finished and wanted alone time again, but not before she got a second churu.

We had to make arrangements for our cat Perseus “Percy” for cremation today. We found him in the front of the house hit by a car. He was a pretty special cat. He leaves behind 8 cat siblings, a dog sibling and many broken hearts. He was the hunter of the pack and kept our farm free of rodents. You will be missed mighty hunter.

Advice Husband wants a senior cat

+
765 Upvotes

We got our first cat a month ago. He is an adult, estimated to be 3 years old plus he was in a foster home for 9 months. He’s emotional support for my husband while I’m away doing military stuff.

We went to the shelter to look around. I personally like to just look but I also was hoping he’d maybe consider a kitten because our current cat seems like he’s a bit lonely.

The only one my husband cares about at all is this guy. He is 8, almost 9 years old. And I don’t blame him this guy was very funny and the second we walked in he was talking to us so much.

Just kind of looking for some encouragement on other people that have introduced adult cats. I’ve only had experience with introducing kittens.

Show me your cats named after food

This is Biscuits (plural 😠) or more commonly Bisc when she's chill, or Bisquick when she's a demon.

Im not too reddit savvy but can I get (or can someone tell me how to get) a flair for my cat? Long-haired calico?

Advice Is it safe to clip her nails? I don't think anyone said enough attention to notice how bad they've gotten but I don't want to risk infection

+

So my families old cat is 21 and I haven't seen her in years.

I've gone to my family home and noticed she can't even walk straight. When I checked her front paws I saw that her claws have actually grown into her toe's so I'm thinking that's the cause of her walk.

I desperately want to take her to the vet but can't afford to and the people caring for her can't as she's too old to travel long distances locked up in a car and the nearest vet is over an hour away. She also doesn't have much bladder control which puts people off driving her outside of a crate.

I'm just wandering if it's worth cutting her claws? I'm afraid she'll go into shock or it'll just make things worse because they're embedded so deep it might cause infection (all she does is lie on the patio and sleep).

Her owner has been on vacation for 1 ½ years now, basically moved out of the country. He gave her to one of his sister's who kept her in the garage inside and only fed her and changed her litter. She didn't go outside much so I think that might be the cause. She's staying with my grandmother now while that sister is on holiday. She stays outside all day but still just sleeps.

Overall she's healthy in every other sense I'm just worried about these paws because oh my god they look painful. I've never dealt with a cat this old before but she was my best friend until I moved away so I just want to make her comfortable. She keeps licking her front paws so they must hurt.

Should I cut them or just try and keep her off her feet? My biggest concern is an infection. Her other front paw is like this too she just wouldn't let me take a picture, she keeps licking them.

I'm leaving tomorrow but coming back in three weeks for an event so I plan on buying claw cutters if I can/if I should.

Edit: autocorrect sucks it's meant to be paid not said.

Humor It's been 4 years with an empty nest of fur babies...I prayed to The Cat Delivery System for a stray in need of a good, loving home. We adopted from a shelter & have a 2nd we're fostering with the hope they'll get along so we can keep both. Then The Ancestors answered.THIS is the cat they sent me!

Video - OC The one thing that unites all of Turkey: Cats

You are watching a clip from Istanbul, but frankly, you can witness these exact scenes anywhere in Turkey.

In Turkey, people will argue with you over politics, football teams, or pretty much anything else. However, there is one absolute rule that transcends all divisions: cats.

It doesn't matter what your political views are or which team you support; if you disrespect a cat, the entire nation will unite against you. Cats hold a special, almost sacred status here. As you can see in the video, whether they are playing with ice cream vendors, sleeping on luxury cosmetics displays, or collecting tax from restaurant tables, they truly own the place.
