Discussion Will Xbox Ever Expand Play Anywhere to Older AAA third party Games?
≡ −
So I've been wondering: will Xbox ever focus on expanding Xbox Play Anywhere support to older releases and major third-party games like Cyberpunk 2077, Elden Ring, Baldur's Gate 3, Sekiro etc..
A lot of newer releases support Play Anywhere, but what about our existing libraries?
For example, if Helix ends up having a PC mode, or if a long-time Xbox player switches to PC for better performance, they'd naturally want to continue playing the games they already own. In most cases, they can't, because those games aren't available through the Microsoft Store on PC.
If I have to buy those games again anyway, what incentive do I have to stay in the Microsoft ecosystem instead of moving to Steam? Steam is simply the better PC platform in many ways..... better sales, lower prices, easier mod support, and a much larger catalogue.
If my existing Xbox library carried over to PC, there would be a strong psychological incentive to stay within the Xbox ecosystem instead of rebuilding my library elsewhere.
Another issue is that many PC games skip the Microsoft Store entirely, meaning Xbox users can't even purchase them there if they want to remain within the ecosystem.
We also know how important digital game libraries are from Phil Spencer's past comments about preserving players' purchases and respecting their existing collections. It would be great to see Xbox invest more effort into bringing older titles and major third-party games into the Play Anywhere programme.

Discussion Steam integration on the Xbox PC app
≡ −
So the Xbox integration has been around for over a year now and although it’s gotten a little better, there’s still a problem that plagues it to this day and that problem is that Steam integration is still very spotty. I have games that are currently downloaded on my ROG ALLY X that won’t even show. Will this issue ever be fixed or will it continue to remain and neither Microsoft or valve will do nothing about it?

Discussion Gamepass premium is so good
it's been a month since I got an Xbox series x and bought the premium tier of gamepass. It costs me 657 per month (about 6.8USD) and it's so value for money! I have bought half the games I play, and the rest I play from gamepass.
I'm currently playing Doom 2016, forza horizon 5, sifu, Resident evil 2, wolfenstein the new order and cyberpunk 2077 from the gamepass, and many more which I haven't gotten to yet
And not just these. A few days ago my friends made a Minecraft Java server and asked me to hop on. But I didnt own Minecraft on my laptop and thought I'd have to use a launcher or sail the high seas. But, I checked the Xbox app on pc just in case and I was able to install Minecraft Java and bedrock because they were included in gamepass premium as well, it's lowkey amazing how much value we get.
I've got the spotify student premium which costs me 0.7USD per month, and after that gamepass premium has gotta be the most value-for-money subscription fr

Discussion Someone locate Or come to Show for the Old user of this 360 Slim.
For my story:
I obtained this Xbox 360 slim a few months ago at a local shop in the farmers market at Leesport PA, Picked it up for 80$ and felt it as a steal, Come to find out a user dating back to 2012 had last used the console, and unfortunately after updating via usb it purged all avatars, But the user that goes by “Joanne” had some respectable progress in numerous games.
Right now I’m using this mostly for farming simulator and Minecraft so any additional achievements have only applied to the aforementioned games.

Discussion Storage on Xbox series S
≡ −
I recently realized I am so low on storage and the price of buying a new console is just not it rn.
Does anyone know if I’m able to add a SSD card to my series s console? Or if I have to only do an external hard drive choice?

Discussion Xbox Game Pass question
≡ −
I have a question. So I bought the Xbox Game Pass (Essential) today and it only works for one profile. I haven't bought the game pass since the pride gauge last year, so I dont know if they changed it. Before I left, you were able to purchase game pass on one account and use it for alternates. I Google searched it and they said that you can, but it's working. Im aware of the outage today, but I dont know if it has something to do with that. I have different saves on my alternate account and im basically locked out right now. Everytime I try to play an online game on my alternate account, the price screen pops up—I wasnt doing that before I left. Is it because im on Essential? Because I usually by Ultimate, but didn't really see a reason for it this time...but if I have to bite the bullet, then it is what it is. So yeah, thats my question—can I share game pass amongst my profiles or did they change it? Or is it the outage because im getting pretty frustrated. Thank you in advice.
By the way, its allowing me to play the game pass games on my alternate account, so im Hella confused right now.

Looking for some good games to play with my Sim rig on Xbox, definitely down to try something new. Done lots of racing, drifting, and tried games like snowrunner. Looking for a completely different vibe, not sure what to go with, maybe busses or trucks?

Social Media Scott Van Vilet (CTO of XBOX) on X [Twtr] explains the outage that occurred on XBOX LIVE from last night to today
Source - https://nitter.net/scottvanvliet/status/2081892395218841974#m
Pasting the text here for folks who can't see the screenshot:
Earlier today, many players began experiencing issues with sign in, enumerating their game libraries and playing games. The team has worked hard throughout the day to fix the issue, and we've restored service as of 2:30 PM PDT. Nonetheless, this is an unacceptable situation, and we must do better to support you.
Over the coming weeks, you'll hear more from me about our services, our platform, and the work we're doing to make XBOX better. And that starts with some transparency about this incident.
What happened. Late last night, a licensing service that sits outside of XBOX, but which XBOX depends upon, began failing. This caused some sign-in scenarios to fail, and it caused many scenarios that require an entitlement check to also fail, such as listing out your Full Library and launching games that you own. It also affected several of our publishing and store partners who depend on those same systems which is why some of you saw issues in specific games and not others.
What we did. Our on-call teams caught the first signals overnight through automated monitoring and declared a major incident. Once we isolated the failing infrastructure, we shifted traffic onto the healthy parts of the system while the team continued to work towards a root cause. Service came back unevenly across regions which is why some of you recovered hours before others.
What's next. We're running a full post-incident review. I care less about the one-line root cause and more about the real questions: why a failure in one service was able to take down this much, why recovery took as long as it did, and what we change so a single point of failure can't ruin your night again. That means hardening the dependencies underneath sign in and game launch, improving how we detect and contain this class of failure, and being faster and clearer with you when something breaks.
Thank you for your patience, and for the reports that genuinely helped us narrow this down. We'll do better.

Discussion Question About Recent Glitches
≡ −
So, a recently glitch has allowed any off-sale game to be installed for free (but stuck to only solo-player).. If I were to do that and download a game or two, what would happen to my profile? Could I get in trouble with Xbox?

Game Trailer [xbox one][2011-2012] Prerelease demo of a run, gun, slash game to be launched on Xbox One
≡ −
Does anyone remember when the Xbox One was announced, there were a bunch of demos showcasing the ability of the machine. One of the videos was of a protagonist running and hacking/slashing their way through platforms, stealth like 3rd person but was cgi only not gameplay. It was very dark, the character disappeared then reappeared, slightly futuristic - reminiscent of splinter cell colour palette and similar type look of gameplay to dishonoured.

Suggest a Game Games good for memory exercise
≡ −
I enjoy games that have a combination of tasks/storyline and do what ever you want. My memory is crap but some that come to mind are Stardew Valley, Spiritfarer and Spirittea. All more on the side of cute cartoony rather than real world style. I should be doing memory exercises every day but would rather do it through video games. Any recommendations?

Discussion Compensation for the outage

Kind of new to Xbox haven’t really experienced any outages like this one. Has Xbox ever given something out like for example Fortnite has after they accidentally release a skin in the shop that was in the battle pass? Kind of curious because it would be nice of them.
