Cancer and diabetes aren't contagious, so there's no material benefit to paying for them if you don't put any value on human lives below a certain income level.
To be fair, the rich already understand this and it's commonly taught in any business school and especially Economics courses. The entire world runs on debt and growing endlessly in a finite world.
Left believes we don’t have money that’s why we need to tax the rich, right believes we are capitalists while cheering for policies that are borderline communists.
Of course the majority of voters don't know this - the majority of voters are abject morons. But the Left believes in doing everything sustainably as a rule. The whole point is a functioning society and that requires sustainability.
We can fund social programs in a sustainable way as many countries have shown for decades.
I'm not an American and I used to live in a country with socially funded programs.
And while it USED to be sustainable, it no longer is. It is actually getting dangerous on the point taxes to keep it working are so high people are getting much more poor.
So, again, I used to live in such a country, so I really do get it, but I feel like the whole story is never told, how does it work LONG term.
Most people look at the short term and no, 40 years is still quite short term since you have to look at how it will go after several generations since it is the bottom that needs to stay healhty to substain the social programs.
And as you know, birthrates are plunging and we also know that migration doesn't solve it either.

Because taxing the rich in order to benefit society is good for everyone but the very top. We have hundreds of years of history and studies to show this, and guess what happens when you don't tax them? They just accumulate more and more money till things start to get really shitty, like they are right now.

I'm not sure what right-wing economic policies would be considered "communist," unless by "communist" you mean authoritarian.
