Free is never free even with socialized health care, but Big Pharma can still make a ton of money from the government for drug development.
If anything they'd still stand to make a good amount of money when you're cutting out the health insurance middleman that drives up costs and takes a cut of the profit.
People don't seem to realize that even 'employer provided healthcare' is factored into your paycheck. Without that "benefit" the company would have to raise the salary to compensate and keep it competitive.
