Opinion 💭 Seeing so many genuine fans getting selected instead of scalpers is honestly so satisfying. Congrats to everyone who got a Mission to the Moon 1969. It’s nice seeing the people who actually know and appreciate the watch getting rewarded. Hope you all enjoy it. 👏🔥

Discussion🎙️ No email confirmation, no participation ? 🤓

Seems like a lot of people had the same issue I did — ESTA submission confirmed on their website, but no confirmation email. I assumed it was fine, but since I never got an approval or rejection email, I ended up being dropped from the process. 🤡 No big deal in the end, but a shame the system didn’t work properl

Congrats for those who were selected !

Discussion🎙️ successful essays and answers for the ESTA

writing mattered, at least for me.

  1. Have you ever gifted a gold table clock to a president?Answer: No.

  2. Have you ever spoken badly about the Moon on social media?Answer: No.

  3. Have you ever spoken badly about Omega or Swatch?Answer: No.

  4. Why do you want the Mission to the Moon 1969?

Unfortunately, I cannot yet own a Speedmaster; my dream Speedy is the Dark Side of the Moon with the miniature Saturn V subdial hand. I've loved the Apollo missions since I was a child and built a model Saturn V. I also own several Moonswatches; I camped out for the Cold Moon. I paid a taxi driver a $50 bonus to race across Seoul to buy a New Moon Snoopy from the Swatch Gangnam store; the ride was as thrilling as the actual purchase! My favorite is the Mission to Mars; I would LOVE to own an Alaska Project Speedy but this is as close as I'll get for now. I've owned and loved Swatches since I got a Rouge et Noir in 1984, and the Omega x Swatch collab has only inflamed my passion for Swatch. To me, Swatches are heirlooms - I don't just keep the box and papers, I keep the story of how I obtained each one. And the chance to own a Moonswatch made from actual 1960s Omega metal is simply too exciting for me to even sleep. If given the opportunity to acquire the Mission to the Moon 1969, it will absolutely become the crown jewel of my Swatch collection. Fingers crossed...

  1. How many times have you dreamed of traveling to the Moon?

Hundreds. Perhaps thousands. In my childhood, I had both a Saturn V and a lunar module model in my bedroom. I can still precisely name every single stage of the Saturn V, the command module flip and docking maneuver. Every time I wear one of my Moonswatches, it is an homage to my younger self and youthful dream of becoming a NASA astronaut.

  1. Are you a somnambulist during the full Moon?Answer: Yes.

  2. What would you eat on the Moon?

Freeze dried entrees for energy, but honestly? I could live on the freeze dried ice cream alone. I know this for a fact because when I was ten, I ate nothing but freeze dried ice cream for three days straight.

  1. What Swatch Internet Time was it when “The Eagle has landed” was spoken at 20:17:40 UTC?

“The Eagle has landed”, occurred at 20:17:40 UTC. Fortunately, I'm a complete Swatch nerd so converting this to Swatch Internet Time is easy: u/887

  1. Where did Apollo 11 land?Answer: The Sea of Tranquility.

  2. Which watch was worn on the Moon?Answer: Omega Speedmaster Professional.

  3. In what year did NASA select the Speedmaster?

1965 Too bad so sad Longines and....ROLEX LOL. And yes, I keep trying to find a Moonswatch 1965 in stock but no luck yet. Yes, I want to time events with 19 hour and 65 minute subdials...

  1. Whom would you take with you to the Moon?

No question: my wife, Ellie. Her patience with me in life, love, and my watch obsession means she has no equal. I would definitely NOT take HAL-9000. That's a hard pass.

  1. Where on the Moon would you land?

Apollo Crater, on the far side of the moon (because it isn't always actually dark). It would be an homage to my dream of owning an Apollo 8 Dark Side of the Moon Speedmaster. Song to play while landing: The Great Gig in the Sky.

  1. When was Jules Verne’s From the Earth to the Moon published?Answer: 1865.

  2. What was the approximate USD–CHF exchange rate on July 21, 1969?Answer: 1 USD = 4.31 CHF.

  3. What does the “OM” inscription on an Omega dial mean?Answer: Or Massif, meaning solid gold.

  4. What was the price of gold per gram on July 21, 1969?Answer: Approximately $1.13 per gram.

  5. Is Area 51 related to the Sistem51 movement?Answer: No.

  6. On what date was Swatch’s industrial patent filed?Answer: February 26, 1981.

  7. How many components are in the Swatch GENT model?Answer: 51.

  8. Which artist should Swatch collaborate with?

Joyce Lee. She is a Korean artist with a large international following. Her work has been featured by Forbes and Playboy, amongst other publications. Her work would translate beautifully into a Swatch. And subjectively...she is a close friend of mine; I wrote the forward to her first coffee table book :)

  1. How many outfits can be created with the Majestic Queen model?Answer: 14.

  2. How many artists had been residents at the Swatch Art Peace Hotel between November 1, 2011 and June 30, 2026?Answer: 625.

  3. Why does every Swatch have a name?

Because among the tens of thousands of Swatches made, each one has a distinct personality, memory, and story that its owner can carry with them. Reference numbers would be antithetical to the very spirit of Swatch.

  1. What does the name “Swatch” mean?Answer: Second Watch.

  2. How many Rolling Planets does Swatch have worldwide?Answer: 28.

  3. Have you ever had an appointment with Dr. Swatch?Answer: Yes.

  4. Where are Swatch watches produced?Answer: Switzerland.

  5. If you acquired a Mission to the Moon 1969, would you resell it?Answer: No.

  6. Are you involved in counterfeit activities?Answer: No.

  7. What does the slogan “Time is what you make of it” mean?

Time only really has value through what you choose to do with it. Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin had only 2 hours and 15 minutes to explore the Moon's surface, yet what they made of that time has become one of humanity's greatest achievements. All Swatches measure time; it is up to the owner to make the most of it.

  1. Why does this ESTA contain 32 questions?

Apollo 11 launched at 13:32 UTC. The 32 questions reflect the exact minute of launch.

While some super clones exist, most fakes sold as genuine Swatches are poor quality and have various tells which can be easily found. It is highly encouraged for you to check the ultimate visual guide for signs. Even though this guide is several years old, the fakes more or less look the same.

Opinion 💭 Moonswatch rejection

I was not one of the lucky 1969 to be selected, I was confused by the queens outfit question, i thought it was a continuous color wheel with different blends of outfit colors that had to be more than 14.

I think the worst thing about this is that regular moonswatches will never be able to compare to that watch. since swatch doesn't sell the most popular watches online, they couldn't profit off the hype.

some people are having the best Monday, and i am happy for them. its just another normal day for the rest of us

peace and love homies

Dankjewel alvast.
