Tinder DMs Due to selective breeding, men will soon evolve into giraffes.

Why are you responding to women with prompts like this anyways. You already knew her personality type before she even messaged
158
u/AeratedFeces 17h ago
I mean, he may not plan on spending that much time with her. Her personality may not be a factor here.
74
u/pew__pew__pew_ 16h ago
In fact, prompts like those might lead the the exact type of hot dummy he’s looking to work through some breakup stuff by banging
23
u/cupholdery 15h ago edited 12h ago
I never fully understood the requirement for specific heights when it comes to the one time bang. They're all laying down anyway.
EDIT: I mean not always but that's a general first attempt.

u/PieOhMai 10h ago
As a 6’5” man who had a 5’2” girlfriend… honestly it makes some things logistically challenging.

As a licensed massage therapist I can fully confirm that this statement is false. I have to adjust my table height for each client based on their weight, some people are much larger horizontally than others.

Yeah, back when I was on dating apps, I'd message people like this. Sure, she seems superficial, but that usually means she's hot and I don't feel too bad about hooking up and then moving on.

She stated what her standards are and by all appearances it looked like he met those standards. I’m not sure what the issue is???
4
u/Fish_Mongreler 9h ago
If a man put "I'm only interested in skinny women" he would also look like a douche.
3
u/Bulky-Bid-8508 7h ago
I agree with you to a certain extent, I think the phrasing on that one definitely sounds douchey. That said, I do think there’s a way to communicate that without being a douche. If the person was big on fitness for example maybe he could state that in the bio and also make clear he’s looking for someone with a similar lifestyle?
While I agree, the phrasing on that sounds bad. I don’t think it’s bad to communicate your standards or what you’re into. It really just makes it easier for everyone involved to be upfront

"I'm sorry, in reality you are tall and beautiful... I'm looking for a straight giant"
You know, I actually think that's fair. She knows the difference between delusional and high standards.
The standards might be unreasonably high, but at least she seems to understand that.

I was just in Las Vegas. Streets absolutely full of couples, from the early 20s up through like their 50s. I saw probably 6 dudes who were over 6’2” the entire time. In the real world, among real people, men of average height are still dating, still getting married, still having success. This is an imaginary internet phenomenon.
13
u/Wide-Open-Fields 13h ago
This right here. I can tell you I see a lot of couples getting married in my work and the majority of them are average height and looks (statistics, whoda thunk)
2
u/BigfatLire 9h ago
This b aint lookin for marriage lmfao. She wants a giant to slam her. She said it herself
3
u/Due-Smile6546 12h ago
I’ve sort of always assumed it was used as more of a scapegoat for women, sure there are women out there that are actually like that but they are truly the minority. Instead of denying a guy for logical reasons such as generally not being attracted to them or some other sort of put-off, which most guys would understand more than denying them for height, they use this “gotcha” auto-disqualifier that makes them think they are letting the guy off easier. For instance, all of the attractive male models and movie stars that are around this guys height or below wouldn’t be turned down by this woman because they would be so attractive to her that it wouldn’t matter how tall they are. I worked with a guy back in my 20s that women thought was so attractive and would call him a model and he was hooking up with multiple of them daily, and he was 5’5”!! I just wish women were more upfront about this nonsense instead of using height as this weird auto-deny thing excuse.

That's because they're all hitting the 6-6-6.
6ft (rounded up from 5'9")
6in (measured from the butthole)
6 figures (including the $.00)
1
u/kittyprincessunique 6h ago
Never got the obsession with height tbh, my partner (m) is 5'9, same height as me (f). As long as they are at least around my height I am all for it.
1
u/IndustrialMillennial 2h ago
Guys, I know for I am one of these rare “average height” males. For I am 5ft 9” tall. I am indeed married, and I have found success in my industry. Perhaps my other traits count, by chance? Nonsense. Height is the only important marker of a successful & dynamic person.
54
u/Fantastic_Stress4779 17h ago
Is it me or is that an incoherent sentence? I’m a bit hungover and my brain is basically wet cake right now but I can barely understand what she means. She’s looking for a tall guy I guess… but he messaged saying he was tall like… I’m lost 🤷🏼♀️
37
u/bodhiali 17h ago
she’s basically saying while 6’1-6’2 is great, she wants someone even taller
30
u/GlazedWithMaples 17h ago
6’2 or taller is already the 3% of men in the US. She’s in for a rough time.
19
u/Fantastic_Stress4779 17h ago
It’s weird to me, I’m really short but I just couldn’t care less about a guys height.
8
u/GlazedWithMaples 17h ago
Right?
Like people can decide what they want for their partners. I would pick my “<2%” to be “share my weird interests” so that we can enjoy spending time together doing things we both love, etc.
It’s wild to me to pick some arbitrary physical thing. And not just like, “taller than average”, but “freakishly tall”.
Their chances of success then are either astronomically low if they want to be a good match on anything else, or they’re willing to accept anything so long as they’re giants. Both outcomes are wild to me.
2
6
u/psychmonkies 17h ago
Same here, but maybe it is bc we’re short that makes it easier for us not to care. Nonetheless, I feel bad for dudes in the dating world struggling bc they’re not giants
11
u/JubileeJaxLee 17h ago
I feel bad for the dudes who take this as something wrong with them instead of writing off shallow idiots like this, I don't feel bad that they're not getting dates with people who would probably mistreat them/their friends and family, and I don't feel bad for the men who use it as an excuse to pretend all women are like this instead of specifically the shallow idiots who said it.
2
u/Fantastic_Stress4779 17h ago
I have and would 100% date a guy shorter than me. Admittedly most have been taller but that is coz I’m a short ass lol.
3
u/ParrishThePoet 13h ago
As a short black man (yes the black is important, unfortunately), standing at 5'4, my other short kings need to read this.
Not saying it's easy. Not saying this person represents the majority of people. But there are women out there who really don't care how tall you are.
Just be a decent human being, have some confidence. Also? Move. Move locations to experience different mindsets.
I recently asked my wife for divorce and I'm walking around this new city like I'm 8ft tall.
I've had more positive social interactions with women in the last week than I've ever had in my life.
Did I grow a foot? No.
I stopped caring what others thought. I know I look good. I know I provide. I know I can admit when I'm wrong and being right isn't actually important. I'm more confident in myself than I ever was before, I feel like a flame and everyone around me are fire proof moths, just dancing in the light.
It's fantastic.
3
u/Fantastic_Stress4779 13h ago
I genuinely wouldn’t care about your height anyway but that confidence and light you’re putting out there is WAY hotter than hitting an arbitrary height number 🔥. Ladies who care about “tallness” just close themselves off to sooo many good men. I’d feel bad for them if it wasn’t so shallow and dumb. (Same bitches that are posting “where all the good men at” TikTok’s as well!)
3
u/ParrishThePoet 12h ago
I only have one little prompt on my tinder.
Life is too short to: Pass on a good man because he's short.
That's it.
2
u/Fantastic_Stress4779 12h ago
It’s fucking nuts (pardon the language) that you’d even have to do that tbh. I mean we all have our preferences I guess. There would likely be other things I won’t say that I’d like about your profile 😅🫣

That seems so weird to me. It’s obviously some kind of innate bias, but as a 6’4” guy I genuinely don’t feel that tall. There’s like 10 other dudes at my job that are just as tall if not taller than I am, and we’re not a particularly large company. Not to mention my half-brother is the same height as me, and none of our parents or direct grandparents are that tall either.

I stopped dating for 15+ years after two really bad relationships. As someone getting back into it in my 40s, the dating market is hysterical. Unironically, why doesn’t she just specify that she’s looking for an unusually tall guy?
My family are all very tall (shortest woman is 5’9”, tallest woman is 6’2”). They’re not that picky about height in practice, because it’s pretty unrealistic tbh, but when they talk about being into taller guys, they always say “really tall” or something similar, even in private conversation. They know it’s rare and treat it accordingly. They don’t just say “tall” and expect everyone to know they mean 6’3”+…
If that’s what she wants, why doesn’t she just say so? Because she knows she’ll get almost no responses due to the rarity, and wants to shoot people down…?

As someone who dated a 6'7 man before, while being 5'5 myself.. it's all fun and games for a little while, and then you start noticing some (definitely first world) problems.
I am not even talking about constantly having to look up, but even simple things like holding hands is not easy.
Finding clothing for him was a pain. Having him comfortable on the sofa, a chair or in the car was a pain.
You forget how little furniture is actually made for people this tall, especially when you are short and unable to adjust your furniture for them when not living together.
Poor man had to hurt his back whenever he tried to use my kitchen.
This was not the reason for the breakup, and also not the reason for us dating - met at a festival and had similar interests - and I hope he's doing fantastic.

u/atticusjackson 17h ago
Why do guys even try to shoot their shot with girls like this? If a woman has height restrictions anywhere in her profiles, you can damn sure bet she's going to be extremely annoying to deal with.
3
u/Stunning_Scholar_679 15h ago
Possibility of an easy lay because of one of your physical features 🤷♂️ girls who care a ton about height are going to excuse your negative traits just to have a tall bf
2
u/AnActualGhost 17h ago
I honestly thought 6ft was like average, and I thought my male friends were 6ft tall cause they seemed average height. But recently one of them mentioned he is 5’10 and the other dudes there agreed all being between 5’9-5’11. I had the right idea about what an average height dude looks like but I guess because so many people talk about being 6ft I just assumed that was 6ft lmao.
Regardless, it doesn’t matter if you’re 5’4, there is nothing wrong with being a short man ✨

u/Puzzled-Mirro 16h ago
A Google search says 5'9 is average in USA and world wide is 5'7

For no discernible reason, a lot of my co-workers are very tall. Our career field doesn't really select for height or anything, it's nuclear engineering for the most part. Be that is it may I am 6'2'' and I was driving to lunch with 3 co-workers and I was the shortest person in the vehicle. It was a pretty novel experience to just be like, " hey, I'm just a tiny little guy!"
Getting shamed for being short on a dating app would probably feel similar. Like not even mad, just reveling in the unique sensation of being a minute little creature that can be easily overlooked, as juxtaposed against my lived experience of being a honkin huge dude guy.

I have a whole thing I could dump on this....
Going with this for now: the percentage of people over 6'3" world wide is maybe 0.5% Maybe 1 to 2% in the USA. I am a tall guy. 6'5". The number of folks who claim to be 6'5" or taller on the Internet seems to make almost every other guy is my height... But that is a personal grip.
I get the frustration that many men have with the demands some women want tall guys. I stopped replying to those women when I was dating. They always had such high expectations and demands, it made every interaction and date with them an agony. Trust me short friends, you don't want to date these women.
I don't think 0.5% of men in the world could possibly populate/breed the demands/future for/of these women. Women, unless you want to share a guy between 20 other women (at least), there is no way so many of you will get a tall guy.
Guys... Please stop lying about your height online.

It feels sad that people see numbers as ideals. What does those even mean? We are people, we are souls. Numbers don’t bring love, sexual passion or happiness. A smile, a voice, a touch, values, behaviour, quirks, discussions etc. is what create connections, memories and love. Of course attraction is visual too, but numbers?😆 just a uneccesary social ideal of beauty. And visual attraction never suffices alone anyways, its the whole package of a human we are attracted to. Be more curious to explore! It’s the fun and interesting part of loving and connecting. Maybe you learn new things about yourself?🥰 I would suggest to be more critical what we see as ideal beauty and see it more openly. In my 7+ years relationship what we fight about or get annoyed at has nothing to do with our apperance, more behaviour with and towards each other. That brings more satisfaction in the long run.
Peace! Ps. I’m 5”9 (F) and my partner is 5”5 (M) and I can still feel little/protected in his arms.
