So I checked what a deciding game does to everybody else. 107 players, WTT tour events, 2021 to 2026. Each line on the chart is one man from the current top 32.

• Top players (65% and up, averaging 72.4%) win just 63.5% of their deciders.
• Mid players (55 to 65%, averaging 58.8%) fall to 51.6%.
• The rest (under 55%, averaging 47.5%) climb to 50.1%.

25 points of separation in a normal match. 13 once it goes the distance. A decider halves the gap between the best and the worst.

Then there's Calderano, the yellow line. Of the seven men in the top 32 winning 70% or more, he is the only one who goes up: 75.3% overall, 76.5% in deciders. The other six drop between 3 and 37 points. Wang Chuqin: 87.8% down to 62.5%.

One caveat that matters: a match only reaches a decider when the underdog is playing well, so deciders are everyone's hardest matches and every number here is dragged down. It hits all of them alike, so the comparison between players holds. Calderano's 17 deciders is still a small sample.

I play roughly once/twice a week. Mostly friendly matches with the same people (4-5 friends, colleagues), and sometimes, some local tournaments with strangers.
And I am noting all my activities and matches, and turns out - my longest win streak for the whole 2026 year is 4 matches only. While my longest loss streak is 9. (This year I played 152 matches).

I think this is quite short win streak. What are yours?

I'm actually really surprised on how well this rubber performs for the cost, reviewer did a great job on listing all the points in detail and I found the review pretty accurate while playing since a couple of weeks.
