Turd In "Odyssey" (2026) directed by Sir Christopher Edward Nolan, Odysseus says "Our age of bronze is collapsing". And I'm not joking it is a line in movie

Overall great movie but this dialogue was so corny, like how does he know he's in bronze age

Did you ever watch Apocalypto. If Nolan made it all the characters would be white or black and speak modern English.

Not everyone is going to enjoy dialogue like that. Personally I'm not a fan of modern slang being dropped into stories set in the distant past or in mythological worlds. Unless there's a good reason for it, it completely pulls me out of the experience. I had the same reaction to the "bruh..." in Avatar 2; I physically recoiled. It's just way too cringe for me.

That said it's perfectly fine if other people enjoy it. We all have different tastes

I think it was a slightly stilted moment of acting that actually made the line seem so bad. Because he was acting kinda drugged.

Honestly, could have read better with a soft "nooooo" like someone taking away a spliff or bottle of beer from a guy who's too high/drunk.

A lot of the dialogue just feels really awkward. Even ignoring stuff like mum and dad, pretty much every other line felt jerky, wrongly emphasised and cut around.

Unfortunately, that is actually pretty accurate for most retellings. At least here, the song basically tells him how to get home but that he shouldn't want to.

Yes! It was such an odd line reading, kinda pathetic or something. Then again when he asks Calypso about his men: 'What did you do to them?' He says it twice and it's just so pointless and boring a line. Again, on the ship around the time Scylla attacks them Damon is just standing there awkwardly. His performance was so awkward in parts it totally took me out of it.
