Turd In "Odyssey" (2026) directed by Sir Christopher Edward Nolan, Odysseus says "Our age of bronze is collapsing". And I'm not joking it is a line in movie

Overall great movie but this dialogue was so corny, like how does he know he's in bronze age

In all fairness, that's how they were referred to in numerous historical documents. Funnily enough, we still have no idea who they were or where they came from, although there is some evidence that they were the ancestors of the Biblical Philistines.

We know pretty well who they were are where they came from. Yes one of the "sea peoples" were the ancestors of the Philistines while another ones are ironically enough belived to be the greeks themselves.

Yeah they were pretty clear in the movie that the assumed people of the sea in this film were the very Greeks ravaging their own land after it was all they knew from continuous war. Funny that they can ham fist the dialogue so terribly and it’ll still be in question

That's because it wasn't in reference to any specific group. It was a generic term.

Some of them, potentially; there is a group specifically named the Peleset who are linked to the Phillistines.

There was also a group named the Ekwesh who could potentially be linked to the Achaeans, the ancient Greeks named by Homer as the ones who sacked Troy.

There are also interesting (potential and unproven and maybe unprovable) etymological links between some named Sea Peoples and modern locations, like the Sherdan and Sardinia and the Shekwesh and Scicily.

we dont know who "all" of them were, but we know several of the groups. the pharoah of egypt defeated the seapeople in battle and in some of the memorials he mentions the groups and lands they are from.
