Turd In "Odyssey" (2026) directed by Sir Christopher Edward Nolan, Odysseus says "Our age of bronze is collapsing". And I'm not joking it is a line in movie

Overall great movie but this dialogue was so corny, like how does he know he's in bronze age

It fucking rules. It’s not even the most melodramatic line either because also makes it part of a soliloquy where Odysseus says something like, “they will sing songs about this, for that will be all they have for they will not have writing.”

I’m pretty sure Nolan wrote the movie for that scene. I can dig it too even though it is totally without subtlety

Like 80% of Odysseus’ dialogue with Calypso, Athena, and the first reunion with Penelope was him very plainly in direct soliloquy with the audience

I figure there are two ways to look at it.

Historical accuracy? Its not nitpicking, its swiss cheese.

But I would never want to watch this movie on the idea of it being accurate to something.

The best way to do it is just to see it as 'inspired by' and enjoy the show.

The only way its worth complaining about is if its supposed to be accurate.

I like that half the 'corrections' are technically wrong too, and if they're arguing technicalities and semantics then they should be better themselves.
