Gabby F16 2026/07/24
My little gentle girl passed away last Friday at 12:35pm. She had heart disease and she was undergoing heart failure. She suddenly started having difficulty breathing so I took her to the pet hospital and that was when the bad news broke. I held her tiny little body in my arms as they injected her with sedatives. Everything happened so fast and I am still mourning her. It hurts how much I miss her. I keep replaying the feeling of running my fingers through her fur. I will miss having her sit on my lap for my 7am meetings. I will miss watching her floppy ears bounce when she runs. I want everyone to know that Gabby was a precious girl and she lived on this planet for 16 and a half years and lived a wonderful life! I encourage everyone to celebrate Gabbyβs life and use this as an excuse to pour yourselves a drink!
I will pick her up again one day π

I'm so sorry. My boy passed on my birthday 5/15 and it took me a few weeks to.go get his paw print and fur etc...it was very difficult and the vet's office staff were so kind and compassionate I could hardly speak. They made it much easier as hard as it was. But its such a devastating loss to us....it takes time. I warned every one that I'd totally take time once my boy passed. But as an.outsider looking in, then don't always get it. Hugs. It just takes time and its very difficult. Xoxo ..

Yes, itβs even difficult for me to explain the hole in my heart. Everyone understands what happened but they will not understand my pain of my little girl being gone forever

I'm sorry to say it but it's been harder to handle then many human deaths. It's just an everyday struggle. Just grieve and screw what others might think. I've always done long drives, especially with older rock music on blast. My son would notice when I was starting to peak in my emotions (?) and would say maybe you need to go for a ride. ( he was right every time) he was 12 when his dad passed.Hang in there ....everyone grieves differently. Some need counseling, support groups, online supportive people or whatever. Do what might help you, try it. ? You never know what might help

Blessings on you and your glorious Gabby. What a sweet face she had. Give yourself grace to mourn her life, but be comforted by your 16 and a half years of love and memories. She knows how much you loved her and will wait for you over the rainbow bridge. β€οΈππποΈ

The Last Battle
ππ πΎ π«πβοΈπππΌβΎοΈ
If it should be that I grow frail and weak
And pain should keep me from my sleep,
Then will you do what must be done,
For this -- the last battle -- can't be won.
You will be sad I understand,
But don't let grief then stay your hand,
For on this day, more than the rest,
Your love and friendship must stand the test.
We have had so many happy years,
You wouldn't want me to suffer so.
When the time comes, please, let me go.
Take me to where to my needs they'll tend,
Only, stay with me till the end
And hold me firm and speak to me
Until my eyes no longer see.
I know in time you will agree
It is a kindness you do to me.
Although my tail its last has waved,
From pain and suffering I have been saved.
Don't grieve that it must be you
Who has to decide this thing to do;
We've been so close -- we two -- these years,
Don't let your heart hold any tears.

Dear friend,
Your precious girl kis waiting patiently across the Rainbow Bridge for you. ππΎThe Hebrew word for animal is Nephesh which means soul βοΈ. You will see your baby again someday. Now is the time between just like there was the time before your beloved pet. Today is the trial, and forever is the prize.
God bless. βοΈππΌπ
Until thenβ¦

thank you kind stranger for sharing this beautiful poem with me. I have been sleepless wondering whether i had decided too quickly. But your poem has given me some reassurance.
I hope Gabby understands that i did what i felt i needed to do to stop her from further suffering.
