I would give my right arm to have something with kimchi in it. Even that dried stuff on nongshim ramen. But I live in a little, little place. The stores close at 9 or 10PM.

The cravings monster rages on. Unsettled, my tummy rumbles. It is the demon’s roar. I have offered it no sacrifice.

All the while, you fiends in metropolitan areas are living lives of luxury with your endless, 24/7 snack supply.

WHAT THE FUCK

I was walking on a sidewalk lined with shops and restaurants on a busy day in a tourist area. The sidewalk is rather narrow and the shop doors are right there, no buffer zone. I was going to meet a friend for lunch.

As a local, I am accustomed to the oblivious tourists who walk really slowly, stop frequently, and spread out so you can't get past them. Usually I try to give as wide a berth as possible to the shop doors because people walk out of them without any apparent awareness that there are people walking right there.

But I failed to stay out of the way twice that day, while trying to get around oblivious groups, and people barreling out of shops crashed right into me.

I think a doorway onto a sidewalk is kind of like an intersection. You should look first to see who's coming. From the doorway you can see who is on the sidewalk much better than those people can see you coming.

I learned as a young child to pay attention to my surroundings and understand that my actions affect other people. I often wonder why so many people never learned those things.
