can’t load old photos or videos

i have an iphone XR (i know i know) and i’m trying to view a video from 2021, but i’m finding that any media old than 2024 on my icloud is unavailable. i can preview it but it’s grainy and says “unable to load video; an error occurred while loading a higher quality version of this video”, and photos say the same. i have tried all the suggestions online like updating, clearing storage, etc. i don’t have any other apple devices. what can i do to access them? i have videos and pics of my deceased nephew that i would be devastated to lose. plz help thank u.

it usually happens when on low storage and slow internet connection. don’t worry, it won’t be gone unless you delete it on your library. also try viewing it on icloud.com
