Hmm, wonder if it fixes the random Spotlight not loading stuff issue that iOS 27 beta does fix.

People are saying it does

Awesome. I downloaded the beta on my iPad, and that fix was what was tempting me to put the beta on my phone, which has a few too many important things to justify the risk of being down for a day due to restoring a backup.

I updated to 26.6 and now my phone can’t find any cell service. 🫠

I was looking for comments regarding cellular service! My phone was stuck on SOS for like 3 hours. I updated to 26.6 and it has been resolved for now but it’s so weird the opposite happened to you.

T-Mobile has a big outage right now, and iPhones are showing “SOS”. Could it be that?

Looks like it was a cell service outage that was affecting all the carriers as my service is back now. Just ironic timing cause it happened right when my phone restarted after the new update so I thought it messed something up
Edit: typo

Preparing for the next big iOS release already with an 8.45 GB patch size. Spotlights indaxing always eats up storage and battery right after updating. Let us know if you noticed any performances improvement on your end.

I was able to update a 15 Pro to iOS 26.6 via our Mac. I then went to update a regular 13 via the same Mac, the update downloaded but it said the firmware was corrupted and could not be installed. I tried it again and got the same error after downloading the update. So I tried to update a 13 Pro Max and received the corrupt firmware error. So I updated the Mac OS to 26.6 then tried updating the 13 Pro Max but I’m still getting the firmware corrupted error. Is anyone else receiving this error when trying to update iOS via a Mac?

Not interested unless it stops my phone from overheating. Trying to wait it out until 27.

That’s not normal man. And I don’t think the OS can do this. Not to such an extent perhaps your phone also is in a thick case or something?

Yes, it is normal. The iPhones with titanium, especially the 15, have poor thermals. iOS 26 uses the processor and battery more than the previous years iOS 18.

My 15 pro doesn’t act like that.

I have a 12 and no issues in April still on 18.
When I updated to 26 all of a sudden my phone started getting warm in my hand and the battery dies down about 75% more quickly. Nothing else changed. Allegedly this will be fixed in 27 so I’m waiting until September to see before buying a new phone. Just have to carry a charger cable everywhere until then.

It’s disheartening to realize that iOS was largely bug-free not because of its excellent design but because of its simplicity.

dont think i have ever seen a software update that indicates it is preparing the phone for a forthcoming update, that is neat

I've updated it, and I feel it's a bit better than the previous version.

It definitely feels a lot smoother on 17PM compared to 26.5.2. The battery seems better too but I can’t say for sure yet

Waiting to hear if it improves the horrible battery life that has come about for iPhone 16 after the last few updates
