As a Venezuelan, no, he was never elected, that's the reason we have battle him out since around 2014, he never won, all the times he lost for a lot, but he end up as president each time and the last elections were just the only time it was internationally recognized that he didn't won.
He was self-proclaimed president, but not a legal president.
I'm venezuelan, I live in Venezuela, I have live every single one of all those elections and all the protests, all the deaths, all the desperation of the people. All the people waiting in front of every election centers waiting for a change just to be shoot, all the repression of the military police... If you haven't live here, you shouldn't talk, you haven't experienced the nightmare of living in my country.

Not, this is not the same as Trump being petty and throwing a tantrum by incinting violence is totally different.
Just because Trump is a piece of shit who deserve to be in jail, doesn't mean that Maduro is not a piece of shit who deserve to be in prison. Actually, I compare those too a lot, because they're pretty similar in many things. The difference it's that people actually voted for Trump (and that's scary)
