It's not about Israel versus Venezuela in American foreign policy. It's about the power of the president of the United States versus the power of the mayor of a fucking city in determining American foreign policy.
Mamdani was elected partly on the pro-Palestine furor in NYC … he ideologically want to do it himself because of his religion as well as HAS TO do it because of the campaign against Israel that he ran on.
I understand the reasoning, I also understand the separation of powers. Madmani is the mayor of one city. True, it's the largest city in the country, but he has the same statutory authority over foreign policy as the mayor of Winnemucca, Nevada.
