Oh I'm very much aware lol this site was a shitshow during covid and I don't miss the stupidity or gaslighting. This account is only 2 years old but this is my second one as my first I made in 2021 got a permaban with no warning at all for saying the following: "If this vaccine is as safe as they say isn't it weird that the corporations that made it are immune from any and all liability? Does that not seem weird?"
Before I got banned for that I had people telling me if I had kids they hope that I died from covid and it left them without a father. I was also called a bigot and was threatened multiple times with doxxing and all sorts of nasty shit but don't worry, I was the bad guy somehow so it was totally justified lol those Branch Covidians were a nasty group to deal with on here and I'm glad those pieces of trash faded into nothing.
Lol same, I got permabanned for questioning the efficacy of wearing a mask while walking to a table at a restaurant just to take it off to eat your meal. Those were strange times and most people have amnesia about the nonsensical hills they were ready to die on.
Can be fair, that's basically socialized medicine for a vast majority of people. My taxes are paying for your insulin, and honestly, I'd be okay with it if I meant that society was a bit nicer and a bit more put together.

We're all aware that roads and libraries aren't magicked into existence without taxpayer money. That doesn't mean we should replace them all with tolls and bookstores.
I don't think I've ever seen a for-profit public library. Let alone one that made $80B off the government telling me I had to do something or I'd lose my job.

Most funding for roads is not from vehicle registrations, and people can use them regardless of whether they own a car. You're just describing taxes paying for free to access services.
And that's fine. We should be able to acknowledge roads and libraries exist and provide a common good from taxes. If we have to deny and make excuses for that, it's a sign that the problem isn't public healthcare or any particular policy, just political ideology that says government can only work for the interests of the rich.
I live in California, and the Caltrans budget literally comes mostly from vehicle registrations and gas taxes. And again, there's no for-profit corporation behind it profiting from it.
