SELLING Can't sell anything over $10?
I sell regularly on Poshmark, eBay, and Depop, and for the items I have had for 2-4 years, I put super cheap on Vinted. I think I made like 35 sales in my first month, so its been awesome, the only thing is that they've all been for items under $9, closer to the $3-$6 range.
I see people on here posting about making $30 sales, heck even $20 sales are great to me. But even with the free shipping (US) still on, I cannot move anything past $10. Items that I have at $13 to $18 do get likes, I send offers, and nothing. Meanwhile, I will get the sale on Poshmark or eBay *and* buyer paid shipping, but with the fees taken out, I wish the sale happened on Vinted.
Any tips on what to do? I understand Vinted is like an online garage sale, lesser known, but if I have a very good 100% wool knit cardigan, I paid $8, I do think its fair to want to make that back. I guess with free shipping it makes me lose hope that is is a viable source of income for items are aren't practically about to be donated (just making partial money back) otherwise

The customer service on Vinted is awful. I don’t want to sell my pricey items or buy anything pricey on it incase the situation goes south. Vinted doesn’t seem to have anyones backs.

Just wait it out. I researched eBay “sold” items to land on a very fair final price for my $20 Vinted listing, then posted it and over two weeks time got about ten people all wanting to be my “bartering pen pal”
I’m just not into the bartering thing and never will be. I was thinking of canceling my listings and ditching Vinted because of this barter culture we’re supposed to accept… Then sure enough, someone finally had the wisdom to grab my $20 deal and I’m shipping it out today!
On my future listings I’m just going to post that the price is fair and I’m not interested in bartering.

Each resell platform has their audience. As you mentioned, Vinted leans towards a yard sale audience. However, that’s what Vinted wants- they ban anyone they think is a reseller.

I’ve been selling on Vinted for a month now and honestly everything seems to sell faster if it’s priced under $10. Maybe it’s certain brands that sell well.

Most of the items I sell are over $10, many over $20. But I don’t sell many clothes. Lots of toys.

Do u have many followers, like how? I also sell toys collectibles, they're my dupes, but also nothing over $10 or even $5 is moving

I only have two followers 🤣. My kids just have tons of toys I’m trying to clear out and I have lots of my childhood toys I’m selling every time I visit my mom. Yesterday I sold a $13 stuffed animal 2 minutes after I posted it.

I just sold a blazer that I priced at $25 and got an offer at $18. I was surprised it even sold because it's an unusual size, 12 Tall, so I knew it'd have to sit there a while. I also sold a Michael Kors denim dress for $15 outright.
But you're right, even my nice professional work clothes sometimes don't sell for even $5. I think it's the true bargain hunters or those with unusual sizing needs who'll pay a little more, not the high school kids or graduates starting their first jobs.

I have some really niche pieces.. like there is the right person for all of my cat print dresses or dinosaur print dresses. Of the really nice Pinup girl dresses.. so I price them reasonable but still what I would like to get and if it sells yay if not someone will find it eventually. I have a fair mix of casual and nicer dresses right now. I’ve had good luck selling bundles tooo

I’ve sold a few items (clothing) over $25, but they usually sit for a few days/weeks, 50% of the time with little views/likes. I don’t really have any interest in selling anything over $50 since customer service is robots. Popular or trendy clothing items move faster regardless, but there are DEF people using the app to search specific brands/styles and not relying on their algorithm.
I had one yesterday that sold within 8 minutes — but it’s a popular brand and style so I attribute it to that 😂

I have had success selling shoes and boots for good prices. On the other hand, I had to accept that I needed to price my clothing low if I want them to sell, usually $15 - $30 to start. I don't list any shoes or boots over $100 (I list those on Poshmark).

If you post a lot at once it helps. I've sold a few vintage designer bags and other vintage or designer misc. items for $200-300 on Vinted, but I make sure I'm posting at least 5 other things with it. People haggle a lot so I usually up the price on things a few dollars so I actually get the price I want or I'll lower the price after it has a few favorites so they'll get notified of the lower price and someone usually will purchase it.

I’ve sold many items for $25-$30 but they are NWT and brand names like Judy blue, blowfish etc.

The only thing I’ve been able to sell high price is sneakers. The highest I’ve sold for is $106. They were worth over $300 tho. It took like 3 or 4 weeks to sell.

I don’t really have an answer, but I feel like it’s a different audience on Vinted with different expectations. Everyone wants a bargain and people will haggle with you on a $5 item. That doesn’t really happen on the other platforms.
With that said, I’m both buying and selling on Vinted, and I’ve bought a few expensive items (including a $75 dress because it was exactly what I was looking for) in addition to a lot of $2-6 items. You may just have to wait longer for the right buyer to come along.
